I feel like Rockstar wants to turn this game into Player Unknown Battlegrounds, but it just isn't going to work.

Someone aught to make a ysc script compiler/decompiler so we can create a 4th character in SP. When playing as that 4th character, it is like playing in Online, except you actually are in SP. You don't have to deal with other players. You can do everything you can in Online (and SP too), and even use the single player mods. Since it would be running off of the SP framework, you would have the SP population cycle, SP population density, scenarios, animals, etc...

Also, some of the Online features are available to the story protagonists too. They have access to the Motorcycle Club, Bunker, Vehicle Import/Export, MOC, CEO Missions, as well as buy Apartments, a Yacht, use Benny's, etc... as well as all the activities they have access to in SP.

I bet that once someone develops such a tool, there will be people working on porting the content to SP. Also, no worry about people using it to get menus into Online. If people alter their update.rpf to get a menu Online, they will be put into their own session.

I have heard that someone is working on a ysc interpreter, which can convert a ysc into C++ code. If this is true, people will be able to port Online scripts to SP more easily.

But honestly, though. There are may ways that can influence a "session split". Like from bad system performance, stutter, lag to bad Wifi connection to torrenting something in the background *cough* What!? - Nothing.

They're all unavoidable and it is something Rockstar has no control over. Unless they dump you in singleplayer with every connection split.

As long as there are things like "High Demand" bonus and NPCs enemies when exporting vehicle cargo the "solo" sessions will always be taken into consideration.

Playing in a populated sessions is something that is encouraged but not forced.

At this point I wouldn't put anything past R*/T2 in their quest to monetize players and their game time. But it is unavoidable, everyday scenarios like these that make think required minimum player counts would be a terrible idea (as well as my preference for solo public lobbies to be made legit. Lets be honest, no one who plays in solo public is ever going to buy shark cards, they will turn to friendly crews, Pac standard finale grinding, car duping or quitting the game before paying for GTA dollars).

Any number of things that are completely unavoidable for many players could make sales almost impossible. A random WiFi dropout. Some days I don't even have to change MTU, my wife will be streaming Netflix or whatever in another room and I can just play solo, I have suppisedly 100mb fiber (that's what I pay for anyway).

A lot of players will get p*ssed if they start a sale and it instantly fails because they get a session split due to their partner/parent/kid/sibling/wifi stealing neighbour starts streaming a 4k video.

Other than that, the usual responses regarding the "challenge" or playing how R* intends have been making me smile.

Lets be honest here, surely none of us are under the impression R* gives a sh*t about our playing experience, us having fun in game, creating a challenge, game balance etc. R* does not value any player beyond the potential of selling us a shark card.

The only people who come down on the side of R* in any discussion like this are the ones who enjoy freeroam PvP, and by that I mean enjoy having easy targets whos game focus is not on fighting and who are at a huge disadvantage.

Never tried doing that but normal lobbys can be a hit and miss I suppose. Usually I have friends that help me but the one and only time I had some randoms help me selling a bunker it went surprisingly well, was however a couple of jet pilots that tried to blow up the last delivering vehicle tho..

Two ways to solve this without f*cking around:

1. Make selling/all work in a solo lobby impossible by disabling the sell options

2. Make CEO etc work possible in closed crew sessions, or even IO

tada

I agree. I'm not a GTAF crew member, but I am in a PS4 friendly crew. So solo public lobbies ending won't affect me too much, other than that I actually enjoy playing alone sometimes and that would be limited to some VIP work.

What I'm thinking though, is that if R* dislikes us playing solo enough to try and make it impossible, it would be reasonable to assume that R* would dislike crews filling lobbies and working together, getting those sweet high demand bonuses with no opposition, even more.

Would an end to solo public be followed by a requirement to have more than one crew present in a lobby as well as a minimum player count? Could R* implement such a feature? The friendly crew I'm in currently has 4 crews due to the 1000 member crew limit, so a mix of members in different crews would leave such a requirement redundant.

Could we see the kick feature removed? So crews or groups can't remove "unwanted" players.

lol, if this happens the game is already dead to me, maybe even the series :) bring on The Benz's Everywhere game.

I'd hate for it to happen but I'd also like to see it happen, they'd lose long time loyal fans overnight :^: everyone will then flock to Everywhere made by a former Rockstar president.

The downfall of GTA: greed.

Oh how surprising, R* doesn't want players to go lock themselves off SOLO in an ONLINE game, who would have thought.

They once allready explained that the whole Gunrunning, CEO, Bikers thing is DESIGNED WITH PVP IN MIND, if you do not like activities with PvP in mind, play a lot of this games PvE based content, as simple as that.

You sound like a shill. Shut the f*ck up. Stop defending their sh*tty and scumbag-y antics and dodgy business practices.

So I'm an old GTA fan, and I've been a loyal hardcore player in GTAonline for 4 years now, but I've never bought a shark card, does that mean R* don't like my type?

Ha, same. In the eyes of, uh, [[[strauss Zelnick]]] we are scumbag freeloaders refusing to be milked to play the game. Strauss has admitted in the past to not playing a single video game in his entire f*cking life and he's the CEO of [[[Take-Two]]]. What a f*cking travesty.

We could always leave negative reviews on steam, about how they intend to make it not difficult, but near impossible to get money without buying sharkcards... Remember OpenIVgate?

Well that'd be silly. How would we do that "Cargobob a car off the barge" mission?

But who knows, they may just remove the propellers from the Savage to nerf it while giving the Hydra complete explosive immunity.

Shhhhhhhhhhh.. you'll give them ideas... as for the barge mission.. just buy a shark card & the cargo bob will have a hook again for 15 seconds.. & when that 15 seconds is up.. buy another sharkcard repeat process, I tell ya.. I'm wasted here... I should be on the idea team for R* ;)

-----------------

Just to get this back on topic, if they do somehow stop solo public lobbies, it will be detrimental to many who play the game, it's not just so called legitimate players who grief that cause people to use solo public lobbies, but modders who do things that are detrimental to people trying to grind for money.... which R* don't really seem to be able to do anything about either.. the least they could do is let us have some form of escape.. Like I say I will be leaving negative reviews on the game if they manage to get this done & I will like to think people on here & elsewhere will do the same.... Been playing GTA for 15 + years...

Like me & many have said let's just wait & see how it goes..

Is there any way of creating an SP lobby on XB1 before R* patch things up?

I keep asking in various places and no one ever gives a proper answer...

I can't dick with the router/settings/ethernet as I'm in a shared house.

Sadly, no guaranteed methods unless you're ready to block ports. Try bridging another router to your common one and play with it, make sure it's WRT compatible though and read some manuals, little education never hurts.

Don't give them ideas! lol

But seriously, if they do make selling impossible in a solo public lobby, what's next? "You need a full Organisation/Motorcycle Club, 20 other players with a different crew each one, all with high Mental Levels, under a full Moon and the blood of a virgin to start a sale."

R* imposing us only a way to play and nothing else instead of giving freedom in a SANDBOX GAME.

I'm too lazy to make my own version of it but replace "Let's do a heist, I need money." with "Let's work together".

lets-do-a-heist-need-money-autistic-scre

I bet they'd implement a feature that would stop you from selling in a public session if there wasn't at least two bright red dots on the map

Every single time I get lazy and forget to lag out my PC so I can do my sales missions in peace and quiet, sure enough.... some douchbag makes me pay for it.

Today I sold a vehicle from my warehouse, and even tho I zoomed by this guy at well over 100 mph in my T20, he was "easily" (gee I wonder how) able to snipe me as I was leaving him in the dust. I had to be at least 100 yards past him when I got the death notice, and there's almost no back window to shoot thru in the T20... but somehow this "awesomely good player" did it.

It's my own fault... for being too lazy to lag out and then deal with the 4 waves of NPC's. But it's still the perfect example of why I play the game solo. Who the F needs this sh*t?

When you attempt to do a sell mission in a packed sessions, there are two types of players that will get in your way, newbies who destroy your stuff because it says to do so & they think they will be rewarded hansomly & the others who do it just to be a pain in the backside.. & that is why many choose to do these sell runs on a solo public session, A couple of weeks ago I thought I would try an experiment to see how many supply runs I could do on my own in a packed lobby, the first one was the one where you use the Techincal Aqua to down the helis, well as I was on my own I sent for my Hydra, waited for the helis to go myside (Farmhouse Bunker) of the alamo sea, blew them all away landed at the Airport field got back in my Kuruma & picked up the package & returned my farmhouse bunker *Great success*

The second one however I had to nick an APC off of MerryWeather, fairly simple objective.. I was within a few yards of my Bunker & this COD kid on a shotaro used just the right amount of stickies & that was the end, I don't think the WASTED message had even finished before he went into passive mode, I think the most frustrating thing about these sorts of players is how they are so boringly predictable & even if you do somehow manage to take them out, it's likely they'll respawn somewhere where they have an even better vantage point to blow your stuff up XD

Now negative reviews are going to tank hard and the PC version will be slammed with overwhelmingly negative reviews again.

But of course, friends and teammates alike have no interest in helping each other out. I know I have. I had a former, so-called friend who had the audacity to destroy my cargo while trying to make a safe delivery. Seems even friends eventually turn out to be enemies.

^Had the same thing happen to me a while back. A "friend" came into my lobby and blew up my I/E sale. It ended with his crate tugboat on the bottom of the sea and a block on Socialclub.

@Shabazz

Not really surprising when people who tell you they want to help you sell stuff take the delivery vehicle and drive it of a cliff itentionally. Another reason is that if you are alone in a session, Rockstars sh*tty matchmaking cant f*ck you over.

I am not surprised that they would try to fix the workaround - people trying to get into unpopulated lobbies - before fixing the problem itself - public lobbies being infested with modmenu kiddies and idiots who preferably boost their k/d with "fights" heavily slanted in their favour. Strauss Zelnick is a notoriously greedy bastard after all who could not care less about the players other than as a money source. If they do that I hope player numbers drop like the IQ of a person having nothing to read but Donald Trump tweets for a month.

If it becomes any more tedious to make money in this game, i'm calling it quits I think. Say what you will, but I can barely stand it as is. being forced to deal with random sh*theads trying to blowing up crates and cars just because they can is honestly just another scheme by the devs to slow down productivity, and i'm just not going to deal with it anymore.
