"True Grime" Update Idea

Hey guys.

I like to play out GTA Online as if I'm just your average criminal. I rock a track suit and balaclava, and drive a shiny Oracle XS. I pride myself on being able to weave through traffic and get away from the cops effectively. I'm not really concerned with being some hyper rich supergangster CEO biker jet pilot. I just want to put on a ski mask and do random stick ups to get enough cash to blow on stuff here and there. I'm usually satisfied with cash amounts of 20-30k.

I find that with this style of play, there aren't a whole lot of possibilities besides robbing the convenience stores. The armored cars almost never spawn. I would love for them to open up the local Fleeca branches for free roam stick ups, have a contact that tips you off on drug deals to rob and sell the drugs (TBOGT Drug Wars), and possibly even be able to align with certain NPC gangs around LS with a rudimentary GTA: 2 style respect meter. Maybe stick up a back alley drug deal between the vagos and ballas or something and deliver the package to the highest bidder. Could even stand out on the street corner and sell spank to NPC's, looking out for other players who might be trying to jack me.

To accompany this content, there could be some new vehicles, as usual, and a new free roam lobby mode called "True Grime". In True Grime, players are restricted to the weapons that would be common in street crime, which would lead to fun oldschool shootouts in the street/alley ways over drugs and respect. A new weapon, the "pipe bomb" could be introduced as a nerfed grenade.

This would help balance out the very common, random heat seaking missile and carpet bombing slaughters that are rampant on GTA Online lobbies without taking away from it. The people who want to play a more grounded crime fantasy can choose True Grime mode.

I want to play as a noob who has things to do, a pawn in the criminal underworld. I want to get online and pretend I'm a spanked up wiseguy. Haha. I'm not a huge fan of lobbying up for an instanced death match or something like that. I have no entrance in owning a military grade vehicle or explosives. I just want to roll around Los Santos and get into some street level crime with a purpose.

 

Right now the GTA;O content comes off like this to me.

No offense but this idea is kind of pointless, it just seems like you want to on-top from the beginning. I get people get annoying but just go passive and do missions and stuff, it's not hard.

Well, actually if you really enjo 20-30k payouts, you can actually do the thing by yourself.
Wear those track suits, balaclavas, grab yourself 9mm and go rob the stores and steal cars. The best thing is that you can do all this in private sessions, so nobody will carpet bomb you.

Wear those track suits, balaclavas, grab yourself 9mm and go rob the stores and steal cars. The best thing is that you can do all this in private sessions, so nobody will carpet bomb you.

My issue is that there isn't much of a variety of places to do this. There are a handful of copy/pasted stores. I'm not really trying to do it for the money, I just want to experience some more grounded crime in free roam. I love interacting with other players, so I'm not trying to play by myself in a private lobby, I simply was thinking of having a specific lobby type with a bit more diverse content so that players of my wavelength could interact while playing out the street level stuff.

 

There is alot of good content for people who want to be high profile criminals.. CEO, VIP, Gunrunning, but there isn't a whole lot of support for people who just want to be in the streets. I know there are alot of people who would enjoy having speeding chases/shootouts without the risk of the military grade stuff going off everywhere. Back around launch it was fine, but years later, a vast amount of people have top tier gear and there is no divide between them and the lower tier people. I'm a preorder guy.. so I've been around the block. Just have never really been interested in my GTA Pvp being nuclear holocaust.

1. Armored cars do not spawn at all.

3. I'm sorry bud but this does not need it's own thread. Wishlist would have been more fitting. Not to mention, this is really a hidden B&M in disguise about freemode.
