My play time is minimal as it is. I turned my back on Rockstar after what they did with Gunrunning and I'll never be cool with them again because of it. Right now I'm in the process of creating a new account so I can test out dupes/money glitches before doing them on my main/legit account. Any chance of me ever buying a shark card - is gone. But I probably won't stop playing if the solo method gets f*cked with, I just won't be nice to anyone at all after that.

I doubt they will do this to GTA 5 online, too much old code to change, but I wouldn't be surprised if they removed solo play from GTA 6 online. Think about it though, I/E car sales could've been a test. You get aim-bot NPCs if solo. What if they added an unlimited supply on aim-bot NPCs for every sale mission while solo? Would make solo play virtually unplayable. But I doubt they would actually do thus with existing content, unless they enjoy pissing off fans.

 

IMHO the solo grind is needed because the game economy is so messed up. If contact missions and races paid better with the new overpriced vehicles the solo grind wouldn't be an issue. If R* thinks solo play is an issue then it's their own damn fault.

 

I'm currently planning to keep playing this game as long as I have friends who play and they keep introducing new content or a new game or real life distracts me. That said, if they do kill solo play, there are options. Join a friendly grinding crew. If they kill that I'll do every free money car dupe I can get my hands on. If they kill that, well, then I guess I'll probably be done with the game.

 

I'm someone who would actually buy shark cards and not grind solo if there was a point to having more stuff. The only point to end game play is to keep playing the game for fun. Sure, getting a new car is nice, but its not any sort of progression other than just having more stuff. The last time I thought about getting a shark card I didn't because the sudden influx of money would've just incentivised me to stop playing. If R* kills solo play they should improve the game design for end game content. If they don't, and they kill all grifer free grinding methods, there will probably be more than a few people who stop playing the game.

If people can say that this is the best game ever or that Rockstar should only focus on Online because the "possibilities are endless" with little criticism, then I don't see why you need to be upset about people venting their frustrations from truly controversial scenarios like this one.

Again, if people can say that this is the absolute best and most stupendously fantastic game in existence with no flaws whatsoever, all while having people defend them and commend their opinions as facts to indirectly complain about critics who offend them, then I seriously do not get why you should experience any problem with people declaring what will make them drop the game.

 

Remember how PC players rained down negative reviews for GTA V on Steam due to Rockstar's and Take Two's action of giving the finger to singleplayer modders instead of the scriptkiddies that are actually ruining the game? Remember how people said the exact same thing that you said about this repetitive criticism being unnecessary and that it won't achieve anything? If we can force them to roll back a sh*tty decision, we can force them to roll back a yet another one because they're too stubborn and greedy to learn the lesson.

Loss of the MTU thing isn't a big deal. I've never used it to get a solo lobby. Just spam "find new session" and you'll find yourself alone in a lobby after a few tries.

1) he didn't say the game was without flaws, he was simply describing his experience playing and listing why HE thinks GTA is his favorite "free roam online multiplayer game"

2) you are comparing someone expressing how much they enjoy GTA on GTA forums to someone announcing they have stopped playing...fail

3) The Open IV case were by people WHO STILL PLAY, going online and giving GTA bad reviews in protest, that case had media press, articles, youtube videos, a petition and a campaign addressed to R* highlighting exactly what they want. These people did this because they still play and love GTA don't get it twisted....comparing that to one or two people posting "stopped playing months ago" is again a fail....

4) not playing in protest to get the game changed is not protest, they just stopped playing cos they stopped enjoying it, and they don't have to....it's not some noble protest to get R* to listen looooooool

I've already ventured into other car-related games. Playing alot of Forza Horizon 3 and on the verge of pulling the trigger to preorder Forza Motorsport 7.

 

I won't stop playing GTA-online, but the whole setup of GR, has put me way off. I just don't like these paywalls and setups... This game will probably proceed further and further in this profit-aimed direction, so I'll probably cut my gaming time more and more down. Surfing on my pile of grinded cash as we speak, but once that runs out, I'll probably will be playing another game alltogether... I like GTA-online alot, but I don't like the profit-direction it's been on for quite some time now. GR just took it one step further...

 

There's one thing I dislike above all other things and that's wasting my time IRL and in my games... While playing a game I expect a positive return, let it be money or just plain fun... But when a game goes all-out to insure I have no financial return whatsoever to generate my (ingame costly) fun (in my case tuning/collecting cars/weapons/properties), it stops there... I don't find it very amusing when my product, which takes (real life) money and time to complete, gets destroyed in a matter of seconds by other players. That's not fun to me, that's a waste of my time (and money)... Force me to undergo that, I'll find a workaround or just take the majority of my gaming time elsewhere... A game has to offer something positive to its player... To me that's essential... So a griefer will probably be in heaven when they force it on all players, but how can you grief when the playerbase starts dwindling down... Nothing worse for a griefer than a better griefer coming his/her way... So eventually, they'll lose their 'fun' as well...

 

I hope they come to their senses wrt solo public sessions... If they don't, I'll adapt and re-evaluate accordingly how much time I'll spent in GTA-online... But stopping and leaving Zornia behind completely... Nop... I like her too much... :-)

not when your mbps is over 100, the better your internet the more likely you'll need a lower mtu setting to be solo

not when your mbps is over 100, the better your internet the more likely you'll need a lower mtu setting to be solo

 

Pretty bullsh*t how when I oppened ports (to get open NAT type) my internet cut from 200mb/s to around 90 now and I still keep getting myself into solo sessions every 30 mins

I made 90 million off the back of FAFF over the course of 8 months, with a process of collecting crates slowly. I reached full capacity by the end of each, sitting on 5 large warehouses and selling with a flawless 100% collection/sell rate.

 

That said, the money alone has not dropped under 70 million since GR. No, ill stick around util the p2p system is a dribbling mess or the cash dries up. By then though Red Dead should be here.

My MTU is set at 800 and will remain that way. I don't need some douche in a Hydra/Lazer/Oppressor/R2K coming to f*ck with me while I'm trying to make money for no good reason other than he just wanted some lulz. Dripfeeding and being greedy and jacking up the prices of things just to push Shark Card sales was bad enough, but now they have to go after every way to make money that they don't like, like with the Kuruma in Pac Standard. I understand this game is PVP but when you're basically shoving it down your players throats like, "NO! You play in this session with this crew of tryhards and griefers and make money the way we want you to or you don't play at all, bitch!" it gets old, quick. If they do find a way to stop people from getting their own sessions I'm Audi 5000. I'll just play Minecraft when I get home from work and never touch GTA V or Online again.
