I see a lot of positive feedback from these forums regarding AMs. Overall, I like them a lot. They're a good break from the grind. My gf and I will take turns playing rounds of whatever is x2 for the week rather than finding something to watch on Netflix.

This being said, we didn't care for Power Mad. It was boring. Or Overtime Shootout. Even more boring. I know dev time went into creating both of them, but they didn't seem to have a lot of thought put into them.

So what I'd like to do is ask my fellow players to join me in theory crafting the Mother of all AMs. Most of you veteran players have tried them all, so you know what works and what doesn't. I'm going to start by saying it should be vehicle based. Now we'll debate what vehicle, and along the way hopefully flesh out this idea.

So, who'll start?

Step back to 1998, a time when watching people getting massacred live on television was considered to be legal, apparently. Based on the original SlashTV from GTA: Liberty City Stories, this is a new rendition for GTA: Online along with new features.

Aim of the Game:

Up to four players are equipped with nothing but a Machete and must survive 10 minutes while being chased by psychopaths with chainsaws. Enemies will keep spawning until the time limit is up. Players are able to collect perks to aid them during SlashTV. If a player is killed, they can be revived by another player. If they do not get revived, they must wait until the other players survive or die. If the player dies when playing solo, SlashTV will end.

Perks:

There are 4 different perks. All perks have a 10 second duration.

- Pump Shotgun: Briefly equips the player with a Pump Shotgun.

- Molotov: Briefly equips the player with Molotovs.

- Rampage: Briefly allows the player to charge through enemies and kill them. The player will sustain a small amount of damage.

- Adrenaline: Allows the player to briefly slow down time, but allow them to move at a normal pace.

Outfits:

Players can choose to play wearing their current outfit or choose from six pre-made SlashTV themed outfits.

Male:32032260343_54c3d9d34e_o.jpg

Female:32806132356_f0d6b98fc7_o.jpg

In-Game Details:

SlashTV

Game Mode: Survival

Players: 1 - 4

Description: Equipped with nothing more than a Machete, you'll be thrown into a psychos' paradise where you must survive for 10 minutes while being chased by deranged psychopaths wielding chainsaws full up to the brim with two stroke. Collect perks to help you get through bloody moments. Guaranteed to be fun. Well, for the psychos at least.

There will be five (5) SlashTV game modes:

- SlashTV I

Location: Los Santos Docks

Enemies: Killer Clowns

- SlashTV II

Location: Los Santos Docks

Enemies: Pogo Space Monkeys

- SlashTV III

Location: Blaine County

Enemies: Altruists

- SlashTV IV

Location: Sandy Shores Motel

Enemies: Slashers

- SlashTV V

Location: Paleto Bay Sawmill

Enemies: Hockey Mask Killers

Rewards:

Survive 1min: $1000 - 200RP

Survive 2mins: $2000 - 300RP

Survive 3mins: $3000 - 400RP

Survive 4mins: $4000 - 500RP

Survive 5mins: $6000 - 800RP

Survive 6mins: $8000 - 1000RP

Survive 7mins: $10000 - 1200RP

Survive 8mins: $12000 - 1400RP

Survive 9mins: $14000 - 1600RP

Survive 10mins: $35000 - 3500RP

I might have been in the sun too long today, but check this out.

Power Mad with vehicles. Two teams of eight players. Everybody starts with a Faggio with an ignition bomb on a countdown timer. In the middle of the area is a power up that turns you into a bulldozer, which you then have to drive into the opponents end zone before suicide scooters blow you up.

Killer Whale

I would want something akin to the Spies vs Mercs from the Splinter Cell series.

Spies have as an objective hacking terminals to extract information and head for an extraction point to successfully complete the mission. They can use several abilities, such as cloaking from the enemy (for a limited time) and disappearing from the radar, but their starting weapons are not as powerful as the enemy's, having to rely on On-Site Procurement. The Stun Gun, Pistol Mk.II, the SMG Mk.II (both silenced), NVG googles and the knife are their starting weapons. They could also add an execution mechanic for the knives, only functional for this mode, so executions can be carried out without problems. An advantage to the knife being that they can execute by only pressing R2/RT near Mercs, with the disadvantage of being an extremely short range weapon.

Mercenaries have as an objective to protect terminals from intrusions and fend off spies until time runs out or after eliminating them all (in LTS mode). They have several abilities, such as using some sort of heartbeat detector that temporarily allows them to see where spies are hiding, along with starting out with powerful and fully-equipped weapons, but they are stuck in first-person view and they can't climb into high places. The Assault Rifle Mk.II (or Carbine Rifle Mk.II), the Bullpup Shotgun, the Heavy Pistol are their starting weapons, with the chance of finding scarce and hidden Combat MG Mk.II on the area.

It's kinda simple: Spies have to steal 3 to 5 pieces of information from terminals scattered throughout the map. When a terminal is accessed, the data is transmitted to their suits via Wi-fi so they need to stay close for the transmission speed to be faster. Mercs can determine through the transmission bar speed how close they are from the hacked terminal. Kill the spy who hacked, and transmission cuts out until another spy tries to reactivate the terminal. If it's not reactivated after 20 seconds, the download is reset. And once a terminal has been chosen to download, the other ones are locked to avoid multiple hacking and exploiting.

If properly done, it would be the first adversary mode I'd play more than once. But for something like this to work, it needs a rehaul of the mechanics. It could also add/remove some things so the mode controls good for both teams.

This sounds fun, but you said it yourself. It needs an overhaul of the mechanics. Also, it seems kind of extensive for an AM.

Cool, but not an AM. Also, where it's my thread I'm locking it to vehicle AMs.

My bad, I've only just realized I copied the wrong one  I'll search for the other in a bit (which is an adversary mode) :p

The Mainframe consists of an Adversary Mode and Freemode based work.

THE MAINFRAME

Game Mode: Adversary Mode

Players: 2 - 12

Time Limit: 5 - 30 minutes

Kills: 10 - 40

Description: The Mainframe, a world where rules can be bent and bullets can become irrelevant. Take LSD and enter the mainframe to see for yourself.

Detailed Description:

The Mainframe adversary mode is heavily influenced by the Matrix and based on the film that was released in 1998 by LoveMedia in GTA Liberty City Stories (which was a parody of the Matrix). The aim of the game is to eliminate the opposite team using the unique power-ups called Algorithms, which can be activated by the player by pressing L3 (PlayStation 4).

THE PLAYERS & TEAMS

Up to 12 players can play the Mainframe. 6 players per team. Players are split into two teams, Programs and Viruses.

ANOMALY PLAYERS:

Anomaly Players have 300% health which will not regenerate to half way and are equipped with a Combat Pistol. Anomalies are able to collect algorithm power-ups that appear during the Mainframe. Anomalies have 3 lives. If all 3 lives are lost, they will be eliminated and spectate until the round ends.

POWER USERS:

During the Mainframe there are two players selected randomly as Power Users, one on each team. Power Users are unable to collect algorithm power-ups however, they are equipped with an enhanced algorithm which is constantly available and consists of 3 existing algorithms: Warp, Optica and Bend. The enhanced algorithm can be toggled on and off with L3 (PlayStation 4).

Unlike Anomalies who have 3 lives, Power Users only have 1 but have more health, allowing them to sustain a lot more damage (health similar to the Juggernaut). They do not regenerate health and are not affected by algorithm power-ups that involve health regeneration. Power Users are equipped with a Pistol .50.

If a Power User is killed, the round will instantly end giving the win to the team who eliminated the Power User.

ALGORITHMS:

Below are the 13 algorithms and their effects:

*Players can only use one algorithm at a time.

WARP: The Warp algorithm will instantly warp the player a short distance in the direction they are facing.

Duration: 10 seconds

OVERWRITE: The Overwrite algorithm will delete all algorithms players have on the opposite team.

Duration: Instant

INVISIBILITY: The Invisibility algorithm will temporarily make the player invisible visually and on the radar.

Duration: 10 seconds

INHUMAN: The Inhuman algorithm will temporarily provide the player with enhanced capabilities; increased movement speed, super jump, one hit kill melee and reduced damage inflicted.

Duration: 10 seconds

TIME FREEZE: The Time Freeze algorithm works similar to the Zone power-up in Power Play and Deadline, however during The Mainframe, all players except for the player that collected it will be completely frozen whereas the player that collected it will be able to move at a normal pace.

Duration: 5 seconds

CORRUPTION: The Corruption algorithm will make all players on the opposite team have their health reduced gradually whereas the the other team will gradually gain health. Power Users will not gain health.

Duration: 3 seconds

REWRITE: The Rewrite algorithm will instantly regenerate all the health of a team (excluding Power Users).

Duration: Instant

DISTORT: The Distort algorithm will temporarily reduce visibility for the opposite team.

Duration: 10 seconds

GENERATOR: The Generator algorithm will supply the player with a random weapon for a brief moment.

Duration: 10 seconds

Generator Algorithm Weapons:

- Pistol .50

- Assault SMG

- Combat PDW

- Bullpup Rifle

- Special Carbine

- Bullpup Shotgun

- Heavy Revolver

- Combat MG

- Minigun

- Railgun

REFLEX: The Reflex algorithm will temporarily deflect bullets back at players who are currently firing at the player who collected the algorithm.

Duration: 5 seconds

BEND: The Bend algorithm will briefly bend space and allow the player to walk or run on vertical surfaces or upside-down for a short period of time.

Duration: 10 seconds

BULLET ZONE: The Bullet Zone algorithm will slow down time and briefly equip the player with a Pistol .50, allowing them to control one bullet from the Pistol .50 upon firing. (Only during this algorithm will a headshot take one bullet, whereas 300% health requires two). This does not apply to Power Users.

Duration: 10 seconds

OPTICA: The Optica algorithm allows the player to see through solid objects to locate players easier.

Duration: 10 seconds

LOCATIONS

There would be a total of five maps for the Mainframe, each one having a computer style visual effect.

- Maze Bank Tower grounds

- Arcadius Business Center grounds

- Kortz Center

- Maze Bank Arena

- LSIA Terminal Exterior

OUTFITS

The outfits for this adversary mode will be inspired by the Matrix.

Program Team Outfits:

Male - Male outfits will be formal, ranging from suits to overcoats.

Female - Female outfits will be formal and tight, ranging from leather jackets to tight pants.

Power User: The male and female outfit will consist of a white suit.

Virus Team Outfits:

Male - Male outfits will be casual and urban, ranging from balaclavas to hoodies.

Female - Female outfits will be casual and flirtatious, ranging from hoodies to shorts.

Power User: The male and female outfit will consist of a casual outfit that stands out.

Adversary Mode Start Sequence:

All players will spawn in their current outfit in two separate rooms, one for the Program Team and another for the Virus team. They will simultaneously take LSD (using the same animation when a player takes the easy way out by ingesting a pill) and teleport into the Mainframe.

UNLOCKS

Upon playing the Mainframe for the first time, players will unlock four of the Mainframe algorithms in freemode. The Interaction Menu will have "The Mainframe" option added. Below is a list of options:

ALGORITHMS: Algorithms can be accessed via the interaction menu and can be supplied instantly to the player for a fee. All algorithms last 5 minutes and have a 2 minute cooldown.

- Warp: $15,000

- Inhuman: $25,000

- Bend: $30,000

- Optica: $15,000

MAINFRAME WORK: In addition to the four algorithms, four new exclusive Mainframe freemode jobs will become available featuring the four algorithms that become available in freemode:

- Decryption: Requires the player to hack multiple laptops around Los Santos and Blaine County to acquire a codes. The player is equipped with the Warp algorithm during this job and cannot access vehicles.

- Law Bending: The player must collect ten data fragments in Los Santos by using the Bend algorithm. The data fragments can be found on top of buildings and in the ground.

- Optical Overseer: Requires the player to search for five briefcases using the Optica algorithm.

- Inhumane: The player must assassinate five targets using the Inhuman algorithm.

When using an algorithm in freemode, the player with have a Bar Code icon next to their name on the player list, to let other players know.

I can't remember who invented this litte game but the title and description were quite racist, so I built my own verison of it.

This is a ton of fun with a good sized lobby.

There's only 1 Taco Truck and everyone fights to get it. Once you have it you have to drive the Taco Truck to the Prison from Sandy Shores.

If you die you respawn in a Luxor (i think), and to stop whoever has the Taco Truck, you dive bomb it with your plane.

Ok I guess it's not really a new adversary mode, probably closer to an XX vs. XX minigame, but I reckon it's got potential for R* to f*ck it up and make it sh*t

It'd probably be called DiveBomb or something

I want something immersive.

I don't play BF, but à Conquest inspired adv mode sounds like a good idea to me...

Ideally for me: something looking like Extraction, no animal mask, no flying bike/no flying car, no arcadish bonus, no stupid outfit.

Vehicles: Valkyrie from Humane Lab final, buffed can take 4 rockets, PU Custom Insurgent towing AA trailer 20 mm canon, no armor but very powerful.

Rescue team must find the VIP and evacuate him(PU insurgent for them)

Assassin team must find the VIP and obliterate him with the Valkyrie.

No minigun, no explosive rounds, no noobolauncher, weapon/ammo carrying capacity limited to a reasonnable level.

I wish I could block Martin's messages for actual adv modes.

An AM for all rocket fanatics, i present Boomgasm! 8-10 people in a shipping container equipped with rocket launcher most kills after ten minutes wins!

It got all the requirements for being a AM, its fun for a minute or two, getting boring after five minutes! Something that all rocket spammers will enjoy!

I Got It ...

Framed for a murder you did not commit, You're a three-time speedway champ and you find yourself at Terminal Island, the country's toughest prison, but you get an unexpected chance at freedom when the warden offers a choice: Compete in the Death Race as a mythical driver called Frankenstein, or rot in a cell forever. Riding in a car equipped with flamethrowers and grenade launchers, You must survive a gauntlet of vicious criminals to win your freedom -- or die trying

... Oh Wait, That's DEATH RACE .... NVM LOL Back to the Drawing Board.

Ah, I got One ... Picture This ...

In the year 2013, America is a totalitarian regime on the brink of collapse. The most popular sport in this dystopia is the Transcontinental Road Race, where teams earn points for logging the fastest time and for mowing over the most innocent pedestrians in the process. This year's competitors include Frankenstein (Your Character), who is rumored to be more machine than man, and the tough-as-nails "Machine Gun" Joe Viterbo (The Attacking Player). Some have a plan to stop the race.

Oh Crap, Sorry ... Thats no Good either, Just noticed thats Death Race 2000 (1975)

Sorry I'm out of Ideas ... Or am I?

I Have a Perfect Idea Called ...

COMBINE HARVESTING ...LOL

Just Imagine 2 teams Fighting over to see who gets to one of these First..LOL

Broadside

2 or more vessels engage in sea battle and boarding. A team must capture the other vessels bridge and/or critical systems.

Think a two-directional piracy prevention.

Players have helis, dingys, and krakens to board the other vessel or defend their own.

2-4 player maps are tug-tug

4-8 player maps are yacht-yacht (heist yacht) or yacht-tugx2

8-16 player maps are aircraft carrier-aircraft carrier/aircraft carrier-battle yacht* x2/aircraft carrier vs ft zancoodo/merryweather docks/lsia.

*battle yacht is a yacht with placement of manned AA turrets which can be bunker researched and purchased after research.

Adversary modes with guns or vehicles has been done to death. How about a change in pace for once? What I mean is fighting. It can be team brawls or team 1 on 1.

- Team brawls would work like Power Mad. Fill your teams meter with mele kills to win or do it by time where the team with the most kills when the time is up wins the round.

- Team 1 on 1 would work like Overtime Shooutout where everyone spectates one person doing his run. In this case everyone would spectate 2 ppl (1 from each team) fighting. The team with the most wins after 5 fights wins the round.

The fights would take place in specific arenas made for fighting. Im sure they have creative ppl on the team who could come up with some cool fighting areas but here are some I made... http://gtaforums.com/topic/872416-try-out-my-fight-club-sets/

Also a few changes would need to be made so the fighting is better such as...

- disallowing the ability to spam the run punch over and over (needs a short cooldown in between each punch)

- cleaning up the lag

- clean up hit detection

I think this would be a fun mode to do and it would be something new.

Voltic Fore Play!

Basically golf in Rocket Voltics. Players endeavour to get their Voltic into the hole (ie hit a checkpoint) in the fewest "shots". Players have five seconds to blast off in their Voltics before power to the engine and rocket recharge are cut. Once all cars are completely stationary and on four wheels (where possible), power is restored, the time resets and players get to take another whack.

Unlike normal golf, players play their shots simultaneously to speed things along and encourage maximum sh!thousery. Ramps will be provided to assist teeing-off.

Cars will be destroyed and players will be penalised a stroke if:

  • They are unable to right their vehicle within 10 seconds of coming to a stop
  • They have not moved within the five-second shot window

To deal with AFKers and time wasters, there will be a DNF style disqualification for players who fail to reach the hole within four shots of first place.

If players land in a water hazard (eg Alamo Sea, Pacific Ocean) they'll be penalised one stroke and have to take their next shot from the relief area.

I'd almost said: "lets not", but it has to be said that AM modes just suck because they suck, not because the concept is bad.

"Rock the casco"
