Paisan™
Same deal as GTA III, but with Vice City. Any suggestions?

Sidaredd
Is game finishes load and opens game or stucks at loading ?
thehambone
Is Widescreen Fix the only mod you have installed? If not, perhaps it's causing conflicts with another mod. If this is the case, try removing all mods and then "re-install" them one-by-one. Paisan™
Is game finishes load and opens game or stucks at loading ? I click on load game, then I click on my save game and the screen turns black, and stays that way for about 5 minutes until the game loads. Is Widescreen Fix the only mod you have installed? If not, perhaps it's causing conflicts with another mod. If this is the case, try removing all mods and then "re-install" them one-by-one. No other mods, it's a clean copy of Vice City with only the widescreen fix. That's it.
thehambone
Hmmm... which version of GTA III do you have? Retail or Steam? Which OS are you using? Paisan™
Hmmm... which version of GTA III do you have? Retail or Steam? Which OS are you using? Both Vice City and III are the original retail versions and I'm using Windows 10. I might try them in compatibility mode, that might help.

Paisan™
Are you trying restrating your pc or updating drivers? also close unnecesary windows and close programs before playing No other windows are open, and yes, I've restarted the PC. Drivers though, I have no clue what they are. EDIT: I forgot to mention, the save games loaded fine BEFORE I installed the widescreen fix, it was only after I installed it that they started taking a while to load. LaDiDa
Get a 1.0 no-cd exe + silent patch and the widescreenfix, see if that helps (this is essentially the same as a vanilla game + widescreenfix, might even fix some additional bugs with silent patch). Hmm, I'm not too keen on the silent patch, is that a must?
spaceeinstein
What makes you hesitant about using the SilentPatch? Edited August 20, 2017 by spaceeinstein
LaDiDa
Silent patch is a must if you want a non-bugged 1.0 game... It's almost always going to be better then vanilla steam versions.
Paisan™
What makes you hesitant about using the SilentPatch? Well SilentPatch is a mod, and I refuse to use mods. Silent patch is a must if you want a non-bugged 1.0 game... It's almost always going to be better then vanilla steam versions. I would rather a bugged game (To keep it original) than have a game fixed with a mod. Just my retarded thinking. BTW it's the original retail version, not the Steam version. thehambone
If anything, SilentPatch helps make the game become more like the original (fixing broken lighting, etc). LaDiDa
If you REALLY want the original game I highly suggest playing it on PS2. Can't get further from the original with the PC version when you're not going to be using mods (that restore as much as possible from the PS2 version).
