Idea: easy solution to PvP suicide turds.

accidents can happen even in the heat of battle. Like some dumbass NPC running you over with a car or accidentally killing yourself with one of your own explosives which players do have a tendency doing.

Well, you'll have to be more careful next time. Don't fall, crash or blow up yourself, and if you did - won't be end of the world anyway. Also npc\cop kills don't count as suicide in game. But no way you can remove current kill score to particular player, and this is actually most popular reason for suicide.

 

Which is why it should just be done away to begin with. People only do that sh*t cause of K/D, despite the fact only the pathetic and insecure take it seriously. You take away that, they have no reason to commit suicide, no reason to abuse passive mode, no reason to repeatedly kill AFK players, no reason to farm kills over and over in military class vehicles, and so on. People done all of that in the name of raising their K/D.

Like I said, it encourages the worst out of players.

 

We would not even be having this conversation if K/D never existed in this game outside of PvP based modes.

I play a lot of solo stunt races. I try to pull off as many spins and flips off every ramp as I can. As a result I die quite a lot. The game is constantly telling me I committed suicide.

Currently my kd/r is .39.

It would be hilarious if suicide counted against kills. My ratio would be like .0000013

Exactly right...you have to play this way to understand fully, removing the kill count screen would be the worst thing for ewo players. Maybe it would be a blessing because there is no longer a need to ewo to keep the pretend score screens in their favor.

 

For instance, I was minding my own business doing GR supply runs. A guy attacks. So I go off radar get a jet. Its 13-1 after a few mintues. I wrecked another jet and didnt want to go get a new one cause the guy had explosive rounds. He jumps up on a roof and manages to camp me and come back. I simply was waiting for him to run out of rounds, so I could go get another jet. He goes ahead one goes to passive and leaves. Proceeds to tell me he won. So I go to my modded account, join him, get a lazer, kill him until he is paseive, and send a couple of texts and block him before he has a chance to respond. The cause of this nonsense. The kill count screen. It means much more than easily boosted KD.

I find that rather hard to believe when ever I see PvP tryhards start smack talking to one another all I hear is K/D this and K/D that, thats all I ever hear. Just a few days ago when I stumbled upon two PvP fanatics going at it on the headset they were just going on and on about K/D. Boasting about their own and questioning the legitimacy of the other due to how easy it is to artificially inflate K/D in this game.

The things I seen over the past four years people done to boost that accursed stat, I can tell you so many stories.

 

Even if that were true, does that not also make the scoreboard carry no weight either? If you kill yourself to prevent your enemy getting a point on that board, why take it seriously? By extension the scoreboard carries no more weight than the K/D ratio does due to the fact you keep removing yourself from play whenever the enemy is about to get a kill on you. There is a reason why most PvP based modes in this game and countless others penalize that sh*t. There is nothing to brag about over a scoreboard that can be manipulated in that fashion.

 

Yeah you got so and so kills more than the other guy but that does not matter when you kept removing yourself from play whenever the enemy is about to score a point. Its like someone playing soccer and when the other team is about to score you rush in and move the goal posts before they could, so again you are putting a great deal of value and importance in something that is in reality completely worthless.

 

Lastly its not like you are gonna be rewarded the second the two of you put an end to the pissing match. Its not like some official mode that rewards something to the winner. The second you leave the session, its completely reset and does not matter, much like K/D is worthless.

Screenshot of the kill count is what matters. Yeah its pointless, but if its 20-0 or something like that its pretty demoralizing to get a picture message with it. What else can you compare where everyone has everything? Comparing kd is like comparing money...hardly anyone is legit, but the kill screen well its not like the other player didnt kill me 20 times and maybe I should have gotten a kill, but the broken score counter doesnt read it. Also people do share these on social media...seems lame to me, but younger people do share it.

Combine with all the weapons and vehicles players have available to them in free roam, it still does not matter. When you got Opressors, APCs, Explosive Sniper Rifles, Hydras, and so on its pretty easy to get a substantial lead on someone. Go into an official death match lobby, limit weaponry to pickups only, and penalize suicides, then we will talk.

If you got something like 20 kills and zero deaths, often times the losing player was at a great disadvantage like using one of the overpowered items that I mentioned whilst they had none. That or you just spawn killed some guy not even at the controller for 5 minutes before you got bored.

To me freemode is the most fair battlefield because dms are lag fests. Not only that, people who do this FM pvp stuff often do dms and they are usually decent.

 

I will never accept a dm after I have bst and jetted a group of players. Because why should I...because you want the rules different. I like the rules in FM, very few. The screenshot says I "rekt" you and thats why you want to change the rules. If we meet in a dm, then we both agreed to the rules unless you dont like, bp helmets, cover, owned weapons, no lester and so on.... I am using "you" in the abstract not directed at you speifically.

 

Just for the record, I do not send screens because the effort to do it is more trouble than its worth, but I have received many.

IMO they should remove Bad Sports from destroying PVs (which has never made sense) and add it to killing yourself 'with your own weapons' instead.

 

Because constantly killing yourself is actually being a bad sport. And those kinds of players should be placed in a different lobby filled with same type of idiots and be done with it.

 

I personally think suicide drama queens are a joke..I usually don't treat them as normal players. And end up playing a different game with them.. Either i try to make them kill themselves by pretending to try and kill them. Or i just leave them in the dust..

 

I mean,, theres even players who place stickys on their buzzards or jets before attacking player.. Just so they can blow themselves up at the 1st sign of danger while they go around attacking others. That level of bitchery deserves to be in its own server..lol

I hardly ever use it, really only to sneak attack people so they dont go passive immediately. But it has fast run, it had invisible body, it has like 800mil and I filled the offices with protos just in case it got the money wiped. It avoid the last wipe I think because my level was only 136.

ok so heres my solution:

 

passive mode is an option that can only be enabled within the first minute of joining a loby and disabled when on foot. peaceful players can go cloud watching that way. passive players would have access to pistols that only damage cops.

 

kills are credited to whoever damaged you last, excluding yourself, this also applies to damage to your vehicle. this resets after 5 seconds not being shot. this includes ewo and bombs. there, now suiciding is pointless during a firefight, but still an option in a tight spot.

 

you can't teleport to your heist finale after taking pvp damage for 30 seconds. this is rarer but still abused

 

how do you avoid being griefed?

the ghost mode feature would last indefinitely. 3 kills on you and you have an out, maybe reduce it to 2.

 

what about badsport?

get rid of points for leaving missions (to escape trolls)

get rid of it for destroying cars with guns and armed jets

basically just get rid of it

 

reduce sniper strafe speed. marksman dancing is stupid.

 

nerf old aircraft cannons, SLIGHTLY buff the new ones

 

remove red map markers for ceo and mc business, just give a notice

 

reduce explosive damage a bit. make it so you survive with a sliver of health sometimes so rpg spam isn't so good.

 

release hunter now

 

 

i think all those would improve the game.
