Shawn "Red Shango" Naranjo was born in 1979 on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in what is northern Montana and is part of the Blackfeet Tribe (First Nation Native American). Shango translated means Thunder of the Storm, which explains his temperament.

Growing up on the rez, Shawn always had a problem with forces of authority and constantly challenged the teachers at the school he attended a reservation mission school run strictly by Benedictine nuns. Constantly getting into trouble and forced into detention regularly he soon started hanging out in the streets more and entered the juvenile detention system. As he grew older his charges only escalated, when in 1999 he was charged with grand larceny, illegal possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a schedule I substance and federal drug trafficking, getting him a 15-25 year sentence.

In 2004 just after his 25th birthday he was transferred to Pelican Bay State Prison in Northern San Andreas. It's here that Shawn meet his mentor Leonard "Geronimo" Banks. Geronimo helped him understand the scarred history of first nation native people in the U.S. and gave meaning to his anger against authority. Together Shawn and Geronimo started hosting meetings and study groups amongst native prisoners and he began to understand true brotherhood. In 2013 after a young Dakota inmate was beat to death by correction officers, Shawn lead a two-month hunger strike with over 25,000 of the inmates participating to demand justice. Soon after Shawn was released so as to get rid of his potential to incite possible rebellion in the prison.

Deciding to stay in San Andreas Shawn started to get odd jobs to appease his probation and stay out of trouble. But after struggling to make ends meet, he decided to go back to what he was good at and earn some real cash. While on a job, he stopped by a bar in Blaine County called Yellow Jack Inn and got to playing darts with a guy named Wolf who was originally from New Zealand. After a few rounds of drinks Shawn and Wolf get to talking about the work they were involved in and Wolf noticing that Shawn rode a Harley Davidson Sportster Seventy-Two, told him about the Motorcycle Club he belonged to.

After a long evening of discussion Shawn decided he wanted to take Wolf's advice. So he decided to stop being a loner and start hanging out with the brothers of The Exiled M.C., a new chapter in his journey. In the summer of 2017 he became a prospect for the new Los Santos chapter of The Exiled M.C. which was officially formed on August 7th 2017. The founding of this chapter also held great significance for Shawn because it took place on the August Full Moon, which in his culture is recognized as the Wolf Moon and is when the main grain is harvested to sustain the community throughout the year. And he thought it not insignificant that this is the same date the new chapter was founded and he was officially the first prospect for the clubs new charter.
