Good Hombre
Some months ago I was wondering ''What if Death Wish was launched today with all this politically correct bs? It would surely piss off a lot of people''. Then, last week I was looking for upcoming movies and saw that Death Wish is hitting theaters November 22, I couldn't believe so I searched about it and found this article: http://decider.com/2017/08/04/bruce-willis-death-wish-remake-slammed-as-racist-alt-right-after-trailer-drops/ Guess what? I was right. Anyway, let's discuss the movie. Do you think this remake will be as good as the original one? Have you watched all the five ''Death Wish'' movies? Will Bruce Willis do a better job than Charles Bronson? Mister Pink and The Time Ranger
The Time Ranger
It's been years since i've seen a Death Wish movie so my memory of it is pretty fuzzy. From watching the trailer for the remake it seems like another revenge thriller in the same vein of The Punisher and The Equalizer. I'm not sure why there is controversy around it. It seems like a small amount of people looking to be offended. Regarding the trailer itself the tonal shift from sadness and despair to quips and AC/DC is quite jarring, could just be poor editing and not reflective of the final product. Broken man who loses everything and goes looking for revenge, a plot numerous movies have had, here they're just attaching the Death Wish name to help with marketing. Hopefully it will turn out to be a decent action movie, getting sick of remakes at this stage though. Mister Pink and Good Hombre

I've watched all of the Death Wish movies at the same day some years ago, I don't remember much but I know I really liked them. About the plot, I know it isn't very original but the big difference is that Death Wish it's about a normal family man (making it easy to identify with), not a trained killer or an ex-military, that loses everything in the worst way possible and starts killing every criminal he sees. The Time Ranger
Yeah that's my bad, I had forgotten that he was just an ordinary guy, I must watch them again, Charles Bronson had a very strong screen presence, will be interesting to see if Bruce Willis can match it. I watched Death Wish 1 and 3 last year. From what I remember,Paul Kersey did actually serve in Korean war,so he had military training. However,in the first movie he was hunting down thugs with just a simple revolver, not semiautomatic pistols and full auto assault rifles,so the action was toned down (most thugs were also armed only with knives or sometimes a revolver). The original movie was much more serious and focused on character development,it was following Kersey's transformation from a harmless middle class guy into a deadly vigilante, the remake seems to be a generic action comedy with tons of action scenes and one liners.I will probably watch it,but I doubt it will be close to the source material (it seems more similar to the third movie than to the first one). Night Machine
There's no way in hell that Death Wish can be remade and do it any sort of justice. As much as I like Bruce WIllis he could never fill Charles Bronson's shoes, especially in that role. Do yourself a favor and watch the originals. Some movies are better off left alone. Mister Pink
This is another film that kind of fits in with my hypothesis about lone-wolf action hero films coming back and possibly taking the throne from superhero films that have been dominating cinemas the last 10 years. I haven't seen a Death Wish film in a long time. Actually I remember being excited to see the first one but think I felt let down. Maybe I was tired. I actually think this trailer looks great and I love Willis in these roles (who doesn't).
