Why are fixed guns always so weak on vehicles?

So look at some vehicles with fixed machine guns (aka guns that ONLY fire straight forward). Blazer Aqua, Ruiner2000, most recently the Nightshark among others. The machine guns on these vehicles fire in 1 direction, straight ahead. To aim them you need to turn the entire vehicle, and you have absolutely no up or down pitch.

Then you have vehicles like the Insurgent and Technical where the guns can fire 360 degree right around and with a certain range of up and down pitch.

So logically one would think "ok the vehicles with fixed guns have very limited use, so those should be very powerful to compensate that weakness. While the vehicles with aim-able guns are a lot more practical, so those should be a little weaker"

But that's not how Rockstar thinks. For some reason every vehicle that has fixed guns, the guns are extremely weak. And the vehicles with easy to use weapons has the powerful guns.

Isn't this kinda backwards thinking on Rockstar end.

Would you guys agree that fixed vehicle weapons in the game could use a buff so they deal more damage?

It's a prime example of R* logic in action. You can use Nightshark to tow AA trailer in a mission, but not everywhere else.

Because R* logic, that's why. They just makes the most dumbest and stupid decisions and they're the most lazy and incompetent developers ever on the entire planet.

I really don't know why they place them on these vehicles in the first place.. they are utherly useless, only good for some time to time trolling, and nothing more.

Well, the annihilator blows up a normal car in 2 seconds while those car-mgs takes about an hour or so. Dunno, maybe they will patch those mgs to shoot teddybears to hug our enemys to death.

Remember that the driver operates the guns on the Ruiner/Nightshark/AquaBlazer/unupgraded-Oppressor and Annihilator/Buzzard . Passengers (or the driver acting as a passenger in a stationary vehicle) operate the flexible guns on the other armed vehicles.

Only the Savage/Lazer/Hyrda have powerful fixed guns the driver pilot can operate.

Can't wait to video how fast the teddybears blow up the Savage.

In a twisted, "annoyed-at-its-armour" kind of way.

I nice buff to the weak ass bullets would be incendiary rounds, the bullets themselves might not do much but it'll be fun watching players get ignited.

I cannot seem to understand how did you make the connection between the decision to decrease the damage on a fixed weapon and laziness, are you guys f*cking kidding me? lmao

Think of a better reason, look beyond your petty pain.

First. R* balance.
Second. I don't get it why does Blazer Aqua and Nightshark have these guns mounted in the first place.

Nice buff for the fixed machine guns will be FMJ rounds, or their upgrade to MGs like in Vehicle Vendetta AM.

And to think that once the Annihilator really was an Annihilator til' they f*cked it up.

I think the NightShark should have an armed version upgrade, I mean really armed. With a 14mm gun like below. But seriously...I don't blame R* for not giving to the highligthted vehicles a decent firepower when it comes to mini integrated weapons of vehicles that aren't even real life based.

(its a vehicle similar to NightShark)

The problem is their retarded placement, it's right next to impossible to reliably blow up any ground targets with those things because we just can't aim it right and the crosshairs don't help at all.

R* should have used the IV beta design of the Annihilator, with 4 rocket pods on the wings and a single machine gun under the cockpit, wouldn't make much sense but it would make the damn helicopter useful to destroy anything

i think its about balance...

  • Oppressor's 20 ultra-accurate Rockets
  • Heavy Sniper MKII's Explosive Rounds
  • Homing Launchers that are only effective against unarmed helicopters.
  • Passive mode not being disabled in combat vehicles, instead choosing to disable it in golden planes since bottles of champagnes are coded as weapons somehow.
  • Rhino still being kept pathetically weak despite the increased amount of competition.
  • APC's rapid-fire "Anti-Air" Missiles that are only designed to harass ground CEOs and MCs without worrying that much about damage or getting killed due to the APC's armor.
  • Wall breaches that existed since release on old-gen being exploited to this day.
  • Savage's armor.

You honestly think Rockstar gives any damn about balance? They put in those guns to make the cars seem more appealing to the petty and obnoxious tryhards who have actual mental episodes if they're not driving neon pink-lime green combat vehicles, that is it.

This isn't even exploring the imbalance going on in racing and Rockstar's tactic of releasing a quick expensive car first and releasing a faster and more expensive car a few months later.

Since when has Rockstar cared about balance? Especially with weapons.

Just wait for Gun Running II. This game jumped the shark (card) back with F&FF and now they're looting the store as it burns.

Better than putting explosive rounds on everything imo. I did notice on the nightshark that there is a sort of soft lock-on that at least makes the gun somewhat useful against npc vehicles.

A company of that scale doesn't make decisions out of no where, there's always a reason for everything.

This. C* is so bad at balancing they could make Masahiro Sakurai look like a f*cking genius.

The Weaponized Tampa is more like the tank. The unupgraded roof gun is a decent fixed-direction gun, but not really more powerful than the Annihilator's. The dual guns give it more flexibility, but then you drive the turret with the camera and have to steer as the secondary control. The additional weapons are practically overkill (and can easily blow up the car if you're not careful!)
