Finding a Hotknife

Hey, does anyone know a way of finding the Hotknife WITHOUT cheats and WITHOUT getting Gold in the Drivers school?

I know you can do the vigilante mission over and over until it spawns, but that is very time consuming. Thanks.

Early in the game, you need to use Vigilante to get it.... It's easy to get as it's not a Rare Vehicle during Vigilante and also basically takes 5 Minutes...

Not really, its rng -> can take forever if you have 0 luck. But I have seen it spawn in Jizzis club area in a video on youtube. I myself never found it there tho.

...With Sports Car Traffic Cheat. Hotknife doesn't spawn in traffic. You can see it spawn in traffic in SF in a bunch of rhans Videos. Sports Car Traffic Cheat. He said he enables that back in 2016 when he was making Videos for Special Vehicles...

And Hotknife and Euros are the easiest and shortest of the "Rare" Vehicles to find in Vigilante, lol...You don't need to be lucky...It happens quickly...Unlike a Turismo, Phoenix, Bullet, etc...

I only saw normal cars. And the Hotknife. I guess it was a modder...

GTAWiki says it spawns at The Strip, VERY rarely.

...Cuz GTA Wikia is so reliable. Another Wikia says Phoenix spawns in Richman. Game Files say these don't spawn in traffic. Nothing more to read here...

Hotknife never spawns in traffic, unless fast cars cheat or funhouse cheat is on.

Ah, Funhouse Cheat...Yeah, I knew it was something with Sports Cars, though...

I don't have much knowledge with Cheats. I don't use them.

You are correct, I've made a typo. Two cheats add Hotknife to traffic: fast cars and funhouse.

Is the funhouse cheat "sh*t cars"? If not then it appears in 3 cheats I think.

No. I refer to EVERYONEISRICH and CRAZYTOWN cheats. sh*t cars cheat is EVERYONEISPOOR.

Oh I misread it, sorry.

lover, peren, manana, moonbeam, previon, rumpo, glendale, oceanic, hermes, virgo, greenwoo, buccanee, willard, remingtn, hustler, intruder, broadway, tornado, primo, tampa, tahoma, savanna	# Cheat1 (sh*t cars)buffalo, infernus, cheetah, banshee, hotknife, turismo, zr350, comet, supergt, bullet, uranus, jester, sultan, elegy, flash, euros, club, phoenix	# Cheat2 (fast cars)pcj600, fcr900, bf400

I thought the cars after # Cheat1 (sh*t cars) were part of the cheat, not the ones beforehand.

Wikia says VLAs drive this car yet I believe in Santa.

Unless you get gold on all tests or you find it on Vigilante then sorry, no Hotknife for none.

I haven't driven this vehicle in ages, what's so special about it apart from the fact that it's rare?

It's not even that Rare from Vigilante. Like the Euros, it takes all of 5-10 minutes of activating/canceling Vigilante to find it. I've even spawned 2 or 3 of them in a row once, back to back to back.

The reason people want this (or wanted it before SA was ruined by OM0 and the AP Conversion) is so they can convert it to EP/FP form during Gray Imports, which is a Story Mission in Los Santos rather early on in the game. Most of the old school guys who've done Starter Saves over the years and have large Collections of one time only Special Vehicles in their Saves like to get these "Rare" Vehicles in their Starter Saves so they ALWAYS have them and don't have to keep reobtaining them in the future if they decide to do another Save. The best Vehicles to get early, meaning BEFORE Big Smoke, or after Big Smoke, before Ryder, are the Phoenix, Turismo, Bullet, Hotknife, Euros, Bloodring Banger, Dune, Barracks, NE NRG-500, Seasparrow, Police Maverick, News Chopper, Raindance, Leviathan, Rustler, Hydra, etc, etc. Also the EC Black Perennial from "Big Smoke" if you decide to do this Mission within the Starter Save. It's not needed, though. All of these can be converted to EP/FP using Gray Imports Conversion Trick and are one time only, being the key ingredient here. Anyone, even the ones without patience and skill can convert any Vehicle to AP, even at the end of the game. Despite AP being "better" than EP/FP only, EP/FP is one time only, while AP can be can done any time, even after 100%.

Fact of the matter is, nobody "needs" any of these things if they aren't into Special Vehicles. If you just want to play the game casually, then Starter Saves, Rare Vehicle/Special Vehicle Collections are not going to be of interest...These things are for people bored with basic 100% Completion as all Missions are scripted with the same outcome and become repetitive and easy after many playthroughs, so the only thing left is the challenging aspects which require a lot of patience...

Locations. Like the Phoenix, the Hotknife is an extremely rare car to find in GTA San Andreas, with only one certain spawn point in the game: Spawns in front of the Driving School in Doherty, San Fierro after Repeating Olds prior Posts:

getting all gold medals in driving school (its license plate reads "GOLD").

https://www.grandtheftwiki.com/Hotknife

GTA San Andreas

The Hotknife is a late 1920's or early 1930's Hot Rod resembling a Ford Model A (it closely resembles the 1928 version of the model) with modifications and a custom paint job. The car comes only in one paint scheme; purple with white vinyls and black roof; visits at Pay 'n' Spray garages have no effect on the car; neither can the car be modified at any modification garages), but features two variants; one with a covering on the V8 engine and one without a covering. It has capacity for only two people.

Like the Phoenix, the Hotknife is an extremely rare car to find in GTA San Andreas, with only one certain spawn point in the game:

Spawns in front of the Driving School in Doherty, San Fierro after getting all gold medals in driving school (its license plate reads "GOLD").
The only way it can regularly spawn in the streets is to activate either the "Clown Theme" cheat or the "Sports Car Traffic" cheat.
Can be obtained through Vigilante missions,
which in rare occasions are driven by criminals, but only at levels 1 and 2, otherwise only 4-door cars are used (This can be done even from the beginning of the game).
Can be found on The Strip on extremely rare occasions.
Players looking for an easier way to obtain the Hotknife can modify the cargrp.dat file to add the Hotknife (internally named "hotknife") to any car groupings. It may now spawn depending on which car group the Hotknife was added to.

You can't find hotknife in traffic without using fastcars or funhouse cheats, it was not meant to appear in traffic. You can only obtain it if you get all Gold Medals on Driving School.

I think we've covered everything, including (oddly enough) the history of the car it was based on. Get those medals, fools.
