Does anyone stream from PC and play on their smart phone?

G'day,

Ive been reading about apps such as Remotr and Splashtop that allow you to stream your PC to your smartphone via any data connection. The PC does the streaming and the smartphone has an app that allows you to control the PC using different controller profiles. So basically, I can turn my PC on, go to work and connect to it via the app and grind away when Ive got nothing else to do.

Does anyone else do something like this and what is your experience?

Cheers,

T

GTA needs a bunch of buttons to play.

Their own mobile games are abysmal to play with the onscreen buttons.

Are you using a Bluetooth keyboard or some sort of controller attached to your phone?

Seems like one of those LogMeIn services on another full computer would be a better way than to use a smartphone.

I tried playing through a remote desktop connection. The performance was terrible and the mouse couldn't track.

Can't really see playing this on a 5" touch screen at all.

I was more so thinking about just resupplying bunker and coke while not in front of my PC and maybe doing the Overtime Shootout this week as there isnt much to it as far as controls go. I agree it would be cumbersome trying to actually engage in battle or even drive with a smartphone. I might look at something I can either stream to my laptop or remote to my desktop via laptop. I will check out Team Viewer and LogMeIn.

I took it a step further and streamed my PS4 to my PC, then streamed my PC's PS4 stream to my smartphone. The quality was actually quite good but the input delay ruins it completely.

I'm Teamviewing to my home computer right now while I'm at work to resupply stock and grind VIP work. It's barely functional.

Yeah I tried Team Viewer last night and it didnt work very well at all. As others have said, the mouse tracking is all over the place. I might try one those smartphone based apps with the built in controls and see how that goes.

Did someone ask for an IT guy well I don't care here I am anyway-

(To my understanding this is the problem)

Okay, so you know the pixels on your screen? Basically, a lot of videogames read where on the screen your mouse is trying to go, so if you move 5 pixels up then your camera looks up slightly. Most games keep your mouse trapped in their window- if you move it to the right, it records how far to the right it would have gone while snapping it back to the center and turning those movements into in-game actions the entire time. (I think this is also why if your PC is a bit low-end then any sort of mouse cursor in a game gets a bit laggy.)
But, if the thing that keeps it in the window glitches out then sometimes you will find your camera coming to a halt and your mouse cursor gets farted out of the window somewhere and you have to mouse back over the game to regain control.

Anyway, TV and other remote control programs use the mouse in some other way, and videogames can't accept that weird input. For example, when I had the genius idea in high school to remote control my desktop to play minecraft while at school, I found that all my camera does is look straight up and spin in circles.

Now, if you manage to find a way to hook up an Xbox controller to your PC over the internet, then you might have something!
