bunker update: low ammo?

i've been working hard for the past week to unlock most of the weapons attachments, and when i finally purchased them for my guns, i ran out of ammo doing just missions, even though i bought extended clip, i had to reload the gun every 20 shots fired, which was 60 shots before the upgrade and then imagine my surprise when i found out you cannot purchase ammo for the upgraded weapons unless it's from the bunker, i didn't know it would be so disappointing, i'm so switching back to the old version, but i'll keep the sniper for heists.

That's why I have avoided the special ammo types for everything besides the Sniper Rifle also. Though I am thinking about getting some special ammo for the SMG as that can now be fired from a boat/motorcycle so having a damage modifier will be quite a nice touch. I'm also in two minds as to getting armour piercing for the Combat MG as I know I will chew through the piss poor limit in no time. Perhaps if the MOC spawn was closer than 5 city blocks(!) then maybe I'd be more inclined. Anyone else wanna share their opinions/experiences?

You can buy ammo for the OP weapons in your Mobile Command Center IF you have the Weapons Upgrade/Mod Shop option purchased for the MCC.

When I find I'm running low on ammo for those weapons, here's my routine:

Running low on ammo > Call for MCC > Go to the oddball location where it spawns > Go inside > Buy Ammo > Exit MCC > Resume gameplay

From there, you can keep the MCC out and available, at the risk it can be stolen by other players, or send it back to storage until you need it again.

Personally, it's stupid that they won't allow an extended clip AND the OP ammo, but that's just so R* can continue sucking money from us.
I mean, $14,000 to fully restock the OP sniper ammo? My $92M is going to go really fast! lol!

Cary two or more for each class. One for special ammo and one for regular.

My MKII carbine has armor piercing rounds. My MKII assault rifle had FMJ rounds and my special carbine uses the default ammo.

Save the special ammo for specific circumstances.

Yep, from my experience it's a total waste of money to buy any of the special ammo types except the explosives for the Heavy Sniper and the novelty factor of incendiary rounds. Everything is so unbalanced in this game you'd think Rockstar would just let us carry as much of it as we want but in typical Rockstar fashion they make inexplicable decisions which result in further unbalanced gameplay.

I'd even go so far to say that the AP rounds are useless, this 'update' and 'balancing' can't even go in the same sentence for many reasons.

Against NPCs they seem to work as advertised. Merryweather goons drop with as little as 5 AP rounds where as normal rounds take 8 to 10.

Against other players it's a mixed bag as you need to account for player level which impacts their overall health and armor abilities and lag which can be a hindrance on the best of days.

There is an advantage but the benefits gaind combined with the severely lowered ammo capacity does not equal the cost needed to aquire and maintain it.

If you request your MOC, and then spam-request a personal bike from the biker menu, both the MOC and the Bike will spawn right next to you.

This.

My special carbine is still kept standard but i got an assault rifle with fmj rounds for whenever it would happen a kuruma comes to me.

The special ammo except for the explosive sniper rounds honestly really sucks anyhow.

I've reverted back to original ammo on all my Mk II guns now, except the Mk II Pistol, which I like to use to ignite people for fun.

The ammo is very expensive, comes in really low amounts and runs out really quickly, and can only be purchased in the adapted MOC.

On top of that, my SMG rounds keep on suddenly dropping to zero since this update was released, which is obviously a bug and shoudn't happen.

There is a glitch to call in your moc directly next to you.

-Be MC Pres

-have no vehicle out. Use MC return vehicle

if needed

-request MOC

-immediately spam request motorcycle and

return vehicle repeatedly until the MOC

appears. You'll hear a chime as well to

know it spawned.

This works best in larger lobbies because lag.

Yes, something is very wrong with Micro-SMG/MKII SMG, the ammo deplete without reason, whenever I change session, the amount of bullet go from 500 bullets to 60...

.I'm able to re-fill MKII SMG regular ammo by buying Micro-SMG ammo, strange no? It is intended?

I'm on PC.

It's not really ideal though, when the opponents health - NPC or player - is usually depleted before their armour is depleted (I think the most armour value an NPC can have is 100, double a players). The "anti-armour" effect needs buffing, as it only does 10% of the overall firearm's damage to armour per shot, which really doesn't make it worth it over the more powerful Combat MG with standard ammo which is cheaper to operate in the long run anyway.

On the flip side, at least the AP rounds don't ever do LESS damage to vehicles or people unlike some of the other ammo types.

Special ammo is pretty much useless except for the explosive rounds

Most people never get into situations that require special ammo

I have to disagree.

The incendiary ammo is exceptional in gaining a distinct damage advantage over most enemy's plebeian ammo.

It also comes in handy when you want to "fire" the mechanic for charging too much for a danged horn. ;)

The FMJ ammo is great to have on the pistol, one rifle, or the MG. The pistol for chasing and shooting drivers of armored vehicles from your car and the rifle for doing the same on foot....but I personally only use those and the explosives sniper rifle rounds. The fully upgraded MK II Carbine is too good to restrict with a 20 round clip. I haven't noticed any loss of ammo glitches though.

Do you even read descriptions of items you buy? You probably bought special ammo and that lowers your ammo count.

I only carry MKII ammo now. I rarely find myself in a freemode deathmatch, so max capacity isn't a real issue at least for me. HP's do their job on NPC's. AP's do their job on players. FMJ's in a combat MG is lit against armor vehicles and explosive sniper rounds for jets and oppressors. Other than price, not much to hate.
