Setup new business - need some help please

Hey I'm just starting in GTA V ONLINE, playing with my sons - one plays on a pc and the other plays on Xbox one like me.

 

If I buy an office and warehouse, then are associates limited by platform just like playing together is, so the one on the pc won't be able to be an associate?

 

On the Xbox one, do I have to be online for them to be associates to do things or can they do stuff for the business even if I'm not online?

 

It seems lime I have to be online for them to be associates?

 

Is there anything that I can do to help them make money if we aren't online at the same time? Sometimes I will be, but I'm just wondering if I'm not online if there's a way to do anything to help them out?
