I think you should change the title because it is absurd to even think that. It's just some odd glitch.

I get this sh*t everytime i deliver someone elses gunrunning or biker product. If the ceo/president delivers it himself, I do not get the message.

All this means is that there are so many people and so much activity in your session that the Rockstar servers cannot handle the number of 'requests' being made to them.

It's a technical issue, and nothing to do with the amount of money you're making in one day.

Just clear out your router/PC/console caches, and you'll be able to play again as usual, until your lobby gets clogged up again like shown in the above posted images. Remember that GTA online is only designed to cater for 24-30 interconnected people at the same time, and you seem to be right on this limit.

I get the same error message, and I've been playing in solo public sessions only for a while now. I even change sessions every so often because I want to avoid that hourly 10k-payment for the bunker stuff.

It has nothing to do with the session itself.

I made around 5 million on Saturday and never received this notice. People that are receiving this notice, what system are you on? I am on the PlayStation Network.

I made that money on Saturday with my friends by selling a bunker and cocaine/meth/weed on my primary and secondary character. The rest of the money was from helping them all sell their bunkers and businesses for the usual biker member payout of ~30k each.

Rockstar has put lots of cool downs to increase shark card sales, but I highly doubt that they would put a limit on money you can earn. People would drop this game so fast, R* wouldn't know what hit them.

Look, we know two things about this game

1: Rockstar said they never knew how big this game would get

2: Rockstar does not like to change old code in fear of new bugs popping up

This game is 4 years old. The games original foundation of code was never thought to support something like this. This game is like an upside down pyramid. It gets bigger and bigger as you go up and it's all held not-so-steady at one point. With each dlc the game gets more and more shaky and glitches like this and the Paleto Bay warp glitch are proof of this.

I fear Take Two is going to push this game past it's limits. How much further can we go? The basic PS4 is marketed as a 500GB system, but after accounting for certain system data that cannot be removed, it is really like a 420 GB system. What does GTA take up now? 75GB or something like that? We're approaching 100GB for a system. That's basically a quarter of my storage... It's small enough as is.

I love GTA Online and it will kill me when they stop updating it, but at the same time I wish R* would cut support and go full force into GTA6.

Are you depositing your cash every 3 minutes like my mate does?

I bank once at the end of my session, anything up to $1.5m, and never have a problem.

I don't grind HH or anything though. Does that go straight into your bank?

VIP work goes straight into the bank, at least on PC. I seem to remember someone saying it doesn't on consoles, but I don't know if that's true or not.

Turns out that, if you do exactly 15 VIP missions or earn around 300K in one day from these jobs this message starts appearing.

A couple weeks ago I was playing a bunch of VIP missions with friends and we never saw an error message like this. We did hit a message that said we gave (or the friend received?) the most about of money that we could in a day. One friend was brand new and while showing how to play by doing VIP missions in an invite only lobby we were giving all of our money when we could. I didn't track how much we gave or how many missions we did, but it was for a few hours so it felt like we did over 20 missions and hit the give limit at $500k given.

Come on folks, this issue has nothing to do with money. Stop worrying.

Read the message posted by the OP:

"Please try again and check www.rockstargames.com/support for information about current issues, outages, or scheduled maintenance periods."

- "please try again" (i.e. you're welcome to try over and over again, Rockstar are not intentionally blocking you)

- "about current issues, outages, or schedule maintenance periods" (Rockstar admit that this is a problem on their end, and they cannot handle your connection right now)

Rockstar's servers are clogged, that's all you need to worry about. Not money.

Funny how people only read 1/3 of the thread and still wanna post corrections. If there is a wall of text underneath this means that the issue is a bit more complicated than that and can't be summed up in the title.

Yes, I am able to make more than 300K a day, way more if I have the time thanks to I/E etc.

This issue is related to VIP jobs mainly. It is possible it affects other work afterwards aswell.

There is a distinct pattern in and after which it appears. Disqualifies the hypothesis of the occasional server issue.

This error message existed before but now occurs in other situations where it doesn't make sense.

Even after rebooting the the game, the PC & joining a invite only session the issue persists.

It's funny you would post this... when I'm depositing about 7 mil a day...

7 million from VIP?

Cuz that's what OP plainly explained.

Still funny

Woops! My bad I was distracted by a tricky timing dupe glitch

10 mil deposited today.

Althrough, you see a money appearing notification, the money were not transferred to the account. My bank account remain at $889450 since the previous job.

Right after that I was managed to do the Tranporter (you can see it in the video) and a few other jobs (not presented, since my drive was full):

Piracy Prevention -> Headhunter -> Haulage.

To answer the original question "So, Rockstar capped the daily amount of $$$ we can make?"

No, I don't see any evidence that there is any intentional cap. I would say it's a very rare case and players should not consider this bug as a serious obstacle.

Hopefully it's just a glitch, but it sounds suspiciously like the kind of thing they'd do to be honest.

Even if this is a glitch, does anyone still believes they are gonna ever fix it ?

Let alone anytime soon.

edit: then again, "soon" knowing rockstar....

Rockstar closed my ticket regarding this case, blaming my sh*tty internet. So I guess everyone else in this thread that has this problem also has sh*t internet, right? Right?

^ I did, and they just reopened my case. Now they're trying to figure out if my MTU settings are incorrect. I'm considering linking them this thread.

Does this benefit the players in any way? No i don't think they'll fix this, I'll be pleasantly surprised if they do

Most concerning is that this ain't such a huge glitch, if it is a glitch to begin with.

^ Ill make the request myself later. Will point them to my video

Got a reply from the support team:

We understand that you are experiencing difficulties connecting to the GTA Online service on your PC. We'd like to offer a few suggestions to remedy these issues with our PC Network Troubleshooting Guide.

Please note, you will need to be logged in as an Administrator to complete all of these steps. If you are not using an Administrator account, you will need to contact whoever provides support for your computer to complete these steps.

  1. Please check and ensure ALL your connections are firm and in-place. If necessary, please plug in your ethernet cord to your computer and ensure the other end is connected to your modem, router, or gateway.

...

Despite I clearly stated in the original request that the issue is NOT related to the network connection.

jyssys, do you have any luck with your request?

It`s just a random bug. But i had this very often in adv modes i just played them with 3 or 4 friends and we didn`t kill each other at all we only wanted to kill time. I can`t remember the name of the mode it was the one where you had to bring a vip to a helipad or whatever. It was a double rp & $ event maybe 2 years ago. But it was 100% reproduceable if we didn`t kill each other at least a few times each round we got the transaction failed error all 4 of us. So we started killing each other but only controlled a few times each round and this way we could get the money.

So there really is something off about it.

I play on pc.

Currently forcing the error out by doing VIP work, noting down how many times it takes before the error appears. I'm also gonna record me doing a VIP mission with the error, which is obviously pointless, but I'll let them have it their way. I actually forgot to change the MTU setting before starting the game today (they wanted me to try that), which is embarrassing, but at the same time I really don't think it matters.

edit: 10 successful VIP works, on the 11th the game gave me the error.

I doubt its related to MTU(you lowered it to get a solo lobby lol?).

I got this stuff yesterday playing consecutive Headhunter/Sightseer non-stop like an autist, and my Steam cache was clean, no program running in background, haven't used NL since I just bought supplies in public, and switched to IO and play VIP jobs to offset the supplies...

Hm, I wonder what happens if you complete 9 VIP jobs and then disconnect for a few hours. Will the 10 or 11 VIP work still give you an error after a break?

MrTroubleMaker

Does doing a contact job "reset" this VIP counter bug? Example do 10 vip's, then do a contact job, then can/try to do 10 more vips?

Changed the MTU as suggested by their support, did 10 Fortified, got the error on the 11th again. Since I'm only doing Fortified, it could either be the amount of time passed or the number of VIP missions that trigger it. If someone could do Headhunter and stuff with lower cooldowns as a test, we could learn more.

I did faster jobs (Headhunter + Hostile Takeovers) and got an error on 10th mission.

Remember a while back there was a HH zero cooldown bug and some were completing them in under a minute (4 x savages)? Hmm.....
