America Posted August 5, 2017 Share Posted August 5, 2017 Just got a letter in the mail summoning to go to court in my county.Now its adressed The state vs john doe You are summoned to appear on ##-##-2017 Whats going on im freaking out a litle bit. I havent committed any crimes...other then driving with no insurance! But obviously i havent been caught. Also me and my father both share the same first name john doe. We're not the county clerk but there is a way to find out most county courts now have online docket searches If this is actually serious just google (Your County Name) Clerk Of Courts and then go to Online Court Dockets type in the case # and your case should appear it will have the defense name and DOB so you'll know who it's addressed too but since your a Jr it would/should've been addressed to John Doe Jr. But don't skip the court appearance if you do a warrant will be sworn out against you and you WILL be arrested and charged for failure to appear and taken to jail for not showing up Sounds like you were summoned for jury duty. Your best bet is to either a) cut your losses and head in to court to go to pay your fine and potential community service: https://www.carsdirect.com/car-insurance/how-much-can-a-ticket-for-driving-without-insurance-cost or b) move to Canada, they don't extradite to the United States.
