From "Crew Vs. Crew/1v1" issues to "I'm hacking your IP and reporting you"

Welp. As the title says, this topic is about players, the bad ones. Crew wars, hackers, and everything related to the bad/realistic side of GTA Online.

 

First, there's a few things I'd like to ask: is there a way to get rid of a player that is chasing you from a lobby to another one? I've been dealing with these guys for weeks, and I just can't understand how they can keep joining my session.

I told my crew mates to block those guys from PSN but they can still join us somehow. Also, they seem to be extra pissed after we kicked their butts in a war. So they decided to take extreme measures against us. (Besides following us anywhere).

 

I know that these guys are the typical "tryhards" looking for some kills, but come on, are you really starting to hack IPs to kick us out from the lobby? it's just a game! You can't be that crazy. These people literally have nothing better to do with their lives.

 

Some things I want to know, are: How can they join you if you don't have them added? can you prevent that? and is it really true that there's hackers (at least on PS4) that can mess your IP up and turn your connection off? and, can you report these players or the entire crew at least?

I'm looking for a solution, even my friends don't know what else to do with them. And it's insane not even be able to play a game without these people messing with us.

 

Excuse me if this topic is in the wrong place, I'd like to change it if it's wrong. I don't use GTAForums that much but now I would be VERY grateful if someone could help me with all this mess. A delicate subject more like.

Friend only session or IO. If you want to do work that requires a public session, set your MTU to 600-800. Randoms won't get in. If you want friends in the public session, have someone one on normal MTU join you. You'll lag out then just join them. Only friends can join and if the odd random does get in, well I'll leave that part up to you.

Might be useful. Though I don't think that'll stop them, it's like they are always finding a way to "virtually fight" me. But any help is appreciated. Does the MTU thing works as some kind of glitch? If so it's the first time I ever heard of it. Anyway I know that for now nothing can stop them from joining.

 

I knew about hackers being a plague on PC or old gen... But on PS4, for me it's unusual, pathetic and absurd.

I had (well ... still have but it stopped for now) a bunch of stalkers me and my crew, we did the usual, unfriending, blocking , making sure we don't have mitual friends ... nothing worked ...until we left all the communities that we were part of.

Stupid Sony didn't allow us to hide the communities that we were part of, which means anyone can just go ahead and join that community and join you through it, except if the community doesn't allow that which is not the usual thing about communities, it's rare when you find one that doesn't allow joining players.

I don't know much about the IP thing you mentioned so I don't really have anything to say about that

If you guys have crews in common, they can join you over the find crewmates tab. In IRL terms, if they know a friend of a friend, they can find you. I you wanna play normally again I'm afraid you're gonna have to purge your crew & friendslist.

I see, now that you mention it we do have some people in common between both crews. Maybe I should remove that people, even if that means losing some friends. If I knew this 4 years ago then I wouldn't make that stupid crew... It completely destroyed my GTAO experience. And it's sad now knowing how vulnerable you can be just because of some silly fights. They take the game way too serious like if it's something related to real life.

Oh yeah I'm definitely in that part of GTA Online unfortunately... After I reached level 400 everything turned into a virtual madness. Haha to think I was planning to fight those guys in their own game... Nope.

They're blowhards as well as tryhards. You can't see another players IP on PS4. There are no mod kits available (thus the lack of modders in open lobbies). No one can "hack", mod or mess with another player on a PS4.

 

Want to get rid of them? Send them a message via the PSN network, be polite and rational.

 

DO NOT CURSE, INSULT OR INSTIGATE AN ARGUMENT IN ANYWAY!!

 

Just ask why they are following and greifing you and also ask if they would please stop doing so. If they respond with any sort of negative reply, use insults, curse words, etc, report them via PSN as that is a clear violation of the PSN Terms Of Service.

 

R* may not care anymore, but Sony takes this sh*t very seriously. If they get enough reports for a player, that account will be banned meaning not only can they not play GTA online, they wont be able to play ANY game online.

People can use a computer to find the ip addresses to people in the session, it hardly qualifies as hacking.

There's no such thing as 'hackers' 'modders' etc on ps4 because the only ps4 that's been jailbroken is update version 1.76 and that doesn't work online. If someone suddenly manage to jailbreak the latest update version of ps4, I'm pretty sure Sony will have a new update out in a few hours.

I think as other people have said the best way to stop them is going through your friend list and maybe if you're part of any communities check if you find anything there and maybe even leave the communities

I have had somebody, and their friends, report me on xbox (I got a comms ban), left comments and negative reviews on my channels FB page, and then went to my YT and downvoted 20+ videos, leaving stupid comments.

Why? Because me and a buddy where working on something in a lobby and he jumped in a jet, head straight for us, so we kicked him.

Some people have no life outside of the internet and view actions against their character as "real life" attacks/threats.

You can fish for people using the program, they text or PSN message you their IP pops up and that's the end of it for them Online for a while
