lets say your a collector and u missed out on a event shirt. you can go into the market and see who is selling the shirt you need.

i think we should have a option for this esp for those who still hunts for the beer hats or the radio shirts and the Halloween ones

thoughts?

Market systems require a lot of new coding and on peer to peer setups are potentially full of potential exploits. Combine that with R*'s historic willingness to rapidly shut down almost all transfers of money between players and I think it's something that would never happen. I've no objections to one, having played apb:r and other games with a market. But here there's not a lot of things for players to create or gather for others, with the possible exception of customized cars, and R* really has not wanted players to transfer vehicles.

Honestly, Quinn, I'm in favor for all new market additions. Thing is, R* will never implement it since it will deprive them of total control over pseudo-economy that we're facing in game. Something similar to marketplace in Forza would be nice, but I don't see R* doing it. Yes, because cash cards.

i wont mind something like this but only if the items are bought with ingame currency.

they could set up some auctions too, put a item for auction and the highest bidder wins.

on the other hand this could/would be used to transfer wealth and we know R* dont want that.

Then use real money then. Like how steam market works

up to this point the only thing i admire from R* is that they havent locked anything behind a real money paywall.

I always thought that something like the auction houses in the Forza games would be nice.

I don't think so.

This requires additional item servers to prevent players to moderate/manipulate items. We can't have any good playable servers, R* won't create other servers.
Console platforms would have more problems with "market" part of this idea.

Shark cards were more than enough microtransactions for GTA O.

Complete useless for a game, like GTA O. Paying real life money for in-game items, but not in-game funds.

Otherwise, free workshop items would be good. People creating their own clothing/vehicles ect. But again, console platforms would have problems with that too.

DCUO has an online auction house. I had countless hours of fun grinding mobs for rare styles then putting them up for bid. I made millions that way. DBG didn't care about the AH because they make their money from that game by selling RNG gear boxes for real money.

I really liked the whole idea. It would give end game players something new to do. Unfortunately this game is built around the players acquiring money. R* goes out of their way to lessen a players chances to grind for money so they instead purchase SC.

So OP, as good an idea as it is, it just won't ever happen. Like how people want SP dlc. No money in it for the developer or publisher.

There's so many good ideas on this forum. All together they'd make one hell of a game.

If rockstar wants people to gamble they should add a casino instead of skins. Your not getting off easy Counter Strike Gambling Online. Its what the GO stands for. lol It would have to be in the next game they can't just add in into a 4 year old game. You need dedicated servers for a marketplace to work properly.

It'd be nice that, if someone buys a car from Legendary MotorSport, I'm actually the one delivering it to his garage.

Happy Hunter

I'd be up for that. I'm not that much of a clothes collector, so if I had a shirt you wanted, I'd just give it for free - unless there was some limited time vehicle or something (and even then, depends if it was a vehicle I was into). But the shirt'd be in a man's size, so not much good anyway.

You know, cash cards, no fun allowed - the whole lot. A good idea though, I think anyway.

The thing is, no one could possibly own every item of clothing (without modding or having a friend at Support unlock them for you).

Even if you got the A**hole shirt from Support, and had a job Verified, and played every day since Oct. 1 2013 and did every event and passed every mission and side-activity requirement, and collected every Special Crate, and bought all the seasonal clothing and masks, and transferred your account to new-gen/PC, and got all the Twitch Stream shirts... you still could not legitimately own all the items:

Each character could only own one of these from each group, because of the Christmas gifts in 2015 and 2016

  • Forward and Flipped Nice Cap
  • Forward and Flipped Naughty Caps

  • Pajamas, Red
  • Pajamas, Green
  • Pajamas, Black

  • Pajamas, White Graphic
  • Pajamas, Blue Check

Plus there are all these that haven't been released but are already in the code and some people have some

  • The Many Wives of Alfredo Smith T-Shirt
  • Maisonette 9
  • Principe Black Tee
  • Purple Helmets Tee
  • Western Brand Black Tee
  • Nagasaki White and Red Tee
  • Nagasaki White Tee
  • Western Logo White Tee
  • Western Brand White Tee
  • Capolavoro T-Shirt
  • ProLaps Golf
  • Richman Hotel Lawn Tennis Club
  • Toe Shoes
  • U of Los Santos Gala
  • Vanilla Unicorn
  • "F" with crown
  • LC Cocks football club
  • Shrimps Basketball
  • Boars Baseball
  • Accountant-Life in the Tax Lane
  • Drone Chatterbot 900
  • Los Santos Golf Club
  • Manopause Adventures
  • Marlowe Vinyards
  • Pacific Bluffs Country Club
  • R* Crosswalk #2 (Gesture logo)

Bonus fact: The "Black Coil Hoodie", earned by beating all the Bunker Shooting Range challenges, is double-sided with a different logo on the back than on the front. Didn't know that until yesterday's Twitch stream.

They should make new ways to unlock these shirts/items. Or add weekly challenges like in killing floor. Just lazyness on rockstar's side.

I could see them adding a market in next gta and hunting for those rare boots but still i want to be able to buy most things in clothing store like in real life.

There will never be a market system to sell/buy cars, clothes or whatever.

Because of Shark Cards. They wouldn`t let us buy fully customized cars from strangers or friends because then no one would pay the full price anymore. There is always someone who doesn`t want or need his/her car anymore. It works great in Forza Horizon but it would never work in GTAO because Rockstar/Take Two are greedy.

And to be honest f*ck the t-shirts and hats i don`t need this crap. They should just unlock all NPC clothing for the players. I want high-heeled boots for my female char like the npcs have. :D
