I also haven't even got to 50% in the story mode so I really don't care for a SP DLC, I just play online.

I haven't played a single gunrunning mission so I don't care for any more. I just want SP DLC.

Iv never grinded my ass off sooo much till this gunrunning DLC. When the double cash for heists came out along side with biker contracts I took advantage of it but I must say, I got burnt out, a lot. I made 30mill and I thought it would be enough for the new content and it was...left me with no more than 1.5mill. Now I just roam the map fighting and cruising, but if a new dlc comes out so over priced and stupidly retarded for unlocking livery it will probably be slowly slowly my end in gta. I am not grinding any more or paying real money for in game cash...

Good to hear its still profitable. Sad that it means more DLC content behind paywalls.

QUICK!! Someone start a "What will you do when the GTA Online servers are shut down?" thread ASAP!!

Single player has been dead since the advent of 2015.

Really, then why are Ubisoft, Bethesda and other companies churning out games with single player mode? Wolfenstein is a single player game, The Colossus is releasing soon, RDR2 next year, Watch Dogs 2 last year, Mad Max in 2015, Fallout 4 in 2015, Metal Gear Solid V in 2015 and so on. But please, do go on, whatever suits your agenda. 👆

Anyone who says single player (any game) has "no place in the future" or is dying is a factually a f*cking idiot.

E- words.

I wonder if the fact that Rockstar made the Gunrunning trailer an actual YouTube ad had anything to do with the increase of players [insert thinking face emoji that won't appear for some reason here]

It's great news and I'm happy that GTAO will continue to be supported and receive more DLC's but I feel like Rockstar needs to change the formula up a bit. There's far too much military crap in the game right now, a game about common crime is turning into a COD-like game which ironically was parodied on the in-game TV.

The reskinning has also gotten a bit ridiculous. Since Import/Export the game received:
-15 Reskinned vehicles
-26 Vehicles with original design
-5 Reskins of vehicles with original design within the same DLC
-1 Reskin of a reskin within the same DLC
as far as the vehicles go. The bunker is pretty much a reskin of Biker businesses except with more ways to f*ck with solo players. Half of the clothing is Bikers and Import/Export clothing with camos. Guns are variants of existing ones. Paywall of a paywall of a paywall's paywall is new in this but that's a bit too much paywalls. One or two are enough.

I know the GTAO team isn't large so they're not going to produce massive amounts of unique content, but I would gladly take a much smaller DLC with more new stuff rather than something the size of Gunrunning riddled with copy-pasted assets. With all the money GTAO's been raking in, hiring more people to produce more content wouldn't do a lot of harm. Even porting all the vehicles from GTA IV would do fine and, in fact, be welcome.

Can all parents keep their wallets sealed when their 12-year-olds come screaming for cash cards, please? They're not eligible by age to play the game anyway.

They aren't eligible to buy it, it's up to us parents if we let them play it.

Good news. Those who enjoy the game will continue to get updates and play and those that hate the game with the passion of a dying sun will have more fuel to hate every aspect of a company.

Doubt the servers will be shut down anytime soon. But R* needs to stop with the updates sooner then later.

They have to Push out Red Dead 2 soon.. And i would like a new GTA before 2020. I think theres one more major update comming before the end of the year.. And im thinking that next one will be stupidly over priced.

I wonder how R* and Take Two are gonna make the switch to GTA 6. They will want players to start over and buy things all over again.. Unless they put GTA V/O to rest sooner or later.. Its gonna be a tricky one.

They won't listen to you, they're intentionally treading and stomping on their own integrity for their favorite target demographic that purchases expensive shark cards from them and defend them to death. We won't see any normal update from now on, it'll always be about blingy superficial sh*t or explosive meme vehicles that constantly fuel the PvP fire.

I've no doubt that GTAO is till making money, otherwise why bother with new DLC like Gunrunning?

But did anyone actually read this article?

"Take-Two noted today in its earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2018 that Grand Theft Auto Online exceeded net sales expectations and was the single largest contributor to recurrent consumer spending. "

We're still in the middle of 2017, folks, and this appears to be news for the sake of news. Pay attention, folks.

I suppose that's fair, even if I personally find it very questionable. Not for cash card reasons, but in general for online behaviors.

I have no idea if that site is reputable, perhaps that 2018 was a typo, or you may be correct in that it's just a click bait article.

But look how riled up the anti and pro crowds got around here. Delicious internet drama.

Not liking some aspects of the game ≠ hating the game.

While the game has many issues, it's still a great game after almost 4 years and I'm glad that updates will keep coming.

I just wish that R* did adressed the unbalance for once instead of adding even more power creep.

I believe GR was precisely timed to satisfy younger folks on their holidays, but it's a bright spark that will fade away soon. Right now on Steam PUBG is taking numbers seriously, surpassing GTAO by a great margin.

I would prefer my kids to play GTAO than rocket league, where all the players are seemingly constantly trying to scam each other out of those crates and keys.

so....

LC map expansion?

Of course not, why spend time recreating a map just for a $20 DLC when they can rehash a Heists Update vehicle with minor tweaks to its customization and get loads of sales for $20-$50-$100 shark cards?

What? This logic makes no sense.

You can charge for the map DLC, then use the additional map to generate shark card purchases - in the form of [expensive] housing, warehouses, clubhouses, what have you. $$$$$

That's perfectly fine as it says fiscal year. Fiscal year mustn't be confused with a regular year like we know it (calender). Fiscal years can be set by companies themselves, so it's plausible that fy2017 ended in the middle of calender year 2017 for T2.

Shame. They don't really deserve it to be honest.

Much as I hate to be the "look on the bright side guy" this means shark card sales aren't drying out and they'll want to add more dlc and give people things to buy.

That can only increase the chances of certain helicopters from previous eras making a return.

The downside is we'll probably get more f#*king liveries to unlock.

Well given the incredible amount of sub-100 ranked players, they seem to still be attracting new players. Problem is once their initial shark card money runs out they seem to stop playing saying the game is too hard to make money.

Speaking of which, I wonder how much of this profit is being driven by the "Buy GTA V and get a Great White Shark Card for $60" promotion?

It's really strangely worded - reporting results for a fiscal year that hasn't even occurred yet, when normally companies report results for the income and revenue of LAST year. The real results.

This seems to be an OUTLOOK for T2 shareholder earnings for next year, and what they are likely to earn through GTAO consumer shark-card spending, One things's for sure, Take-Two are making an increased and very tidy profit.

On the one hand, that profit is great for GTA fans because it means our favourite game will continue indefinitely, but on the other hand it means we're going to get continued years of junk, randomwalls and every trick in the book to test our patience and frustrate us into parting with real cash

Every little ploy and DLC with micro-tactics to earn more revenue for T2 shareholders is time wasted that could have been used for real world expansions. By now, seriously, we should be in Las Venturas or San Fierro, or somewhere else other than Los Santos, instead of just fiddling around and warring each other for the benefit of T2 revenue, four years later.
