Anyone who thinks R* isnt give players exactly what they are asking for is proven wrong. More adversary modes and op vehicles with lockons in the future. Any on who complained about the jet, a vehicles that only a small % could use, now has to deal with flying bikes, explosive snipers, and armored insurgents full of noobs. I personally love gunrunning and all the additions, but the oppressor is a straight up noob weapon, built for those to impatient to learn how to use the jet. And the more I see it, the more I think it was a huge mistake.

You could say the same thing about that marksman rifle. It was added in because only a minority of people could use the heavy sniper effectively. In a way it was added to "balance" the game. Even the same could be said about the Hydra . It was added in to "balance" the Lazer and look what happened once people started to use it effectively. Rockstar is sh*t when it comes to balancing GTAOnline and they will always add a weapon or vehicle that will be the most OP thing in the entire game until the next big OP thing gets added in with the next update. Their interpretation of "balance" is incredibly flawed. It's clearly evident in the game.

 

Coincidentally, the first two letters of Oppressor is OP. Which we all know it stands for "Over Powered". From what I observed, this weaponized vehicle is living up to it's name through and through.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy the bike. However, its annonying to see a level 100 going around griefin with the bike. Especially, after reading about jet nerfs for literally months. The bike has givin every player a license to grief. At least the ruiner 2k was 5mil and is easily handled by a ground player. The bike is not really a problem for me because I just go get the hydra, but I have encountered loads of players (low levels) that have for some reason have come to conclusion that the bike is better than the jet. The buzzard is much more dangerous for a jet because the oppenent doesnt fall out of it every five seconds. Its just ironic that a supposed solution to the jet, is essentially the new tank. Its what players have been begging and certainly a reason for the high profits and it doesnt even really work for the intended purpose. The explosive sniper is a solution for jets. However, its not a greifers wet dream because the low ammo renders it a defensive weapon.

This is payback for all the assholes who didn't buy the DLC for GTA IV. You turned Rockstar against making any story DLC for GTA ever again, because it didn't make any money, and now these sh*tty tinybuys ARE making them money.

IF RDR2 story gets good reviews I will buy the game pre-owned & enjoy that. I may look at online, at least there will be no flying bikes, or homing launchers. I'm sure they will come up with something to get the bond sales going, maybe winged horses?

 

Longer term I've got my fingers crossed for the Benz & what he's working on. If he means what he says in interviews, he seems to have a pretty different take on the game he wants to make, compared to what GTA has become.

 

Hopefully the decent players will move there & the rest, they will stick with the inbred spawn of saints row & COD. Where they can happily soar round on their atomic hoverboards with quad laser cannons & fap over their kd's. When they sign off for the night they can worship their life size image of lord zelnick, which takes center position in their shrine to R*, then sleep & dream of being able to pay $250000 a time for a call in nuclear strike

its funny one of the biggest complainers of this game revealed in another thread they are like over double my level....and I thought I played this game a lot - how do you people invest sooooo much time and effort into things you dislike?????

Pretty sure that the feedback page/e-mail address are functionally the same as the company shredder, too... :p

 

Like I've said time and time again, I reckon the only metrics the GTAO devs pay attention to are in-game stats - things like how many people buy a particular vehicle, what game modes get played most often, etc., and then create new content in response to that.

 

Granted, that's a very skewed way to do so, that automatically favours certain things - and depending on what R* chooses to get the proverbial ball rolling, updates and the like can actually influence people's buying/playing habits further. For instance, are adversary modes really just super-popular in their own right? Or do they just get played a lot when they're new, because they're 'new', and ...oh, yeah - usually double money/RP on new adversary modes.

 

Same with supercars - if you hype something up, and sell it for $2.5 million, not only are a lot of people going to buy it, but it'll also bring in more money than something priced cheaper. That likely means that supercars make a bigger 'splash' every time they're released, and so they look artificially popular - so R* doubles down, adds more of 'em, and people buy them.

 

Meanwhile, people aren't buying new compacts because R*'s only made seven in total (last one was added a year ago), and so they're making less of a dent. Would people buy something like a Civic Type-R if R* added it? Maybe - we don't know, because R* keeps passing over things like that, and so they might as well not exist in terms of stat-tracking.

 

Even something recent, like the Infernus/Turismo/Cheetah Classics - are people buying those because of 3D-era nostalgia, or because 'moar supercars', or just 'new content'? No way to know - R* can interpret sales any way they want. Just responding to in-game metrics might be simple and reasonably predictable, but there's a whole lot of room for omission, and also not a whole bunch of nuance involved.

 

 

...and to bring it full-circle, it's all moot, because there's no direct way to communicate anything like that to R* or Take Two. :turn:

from a developer standpoint - the game is 4 years old...... which part of the player base do you think they want to please more, new casual players with low money or dedicated players with by now 10s of millions??

 

the newer and better things will always be more expensive....why are shark cards to blame? There are players with all the gunrunning stuff who have not spent a dime of real money, did it take them long? yes? so? should it be quick and easy? if its something you want then put in the work and effort, if you feel the work required is too much, buy a card, if you are against that, then oh well....its really not that deep people, its a video game you choose to play

 

you guys want bigger and better things yet dont want to pay for them....how much do you think a BUNKER would cost IRL or a flying rocket bike?.....wtf

 

 

 

this game should be a lesson in life for some people, with money you can fast track life and get the best stuff...without money you have to work hard, grind and do things the slow way - THIS IS GTA, satire, reflective, self aware - the philosophy has been lost on you over time...

If you're talking about me, well - most of my rank was got back when the game was actually decent. I don't play much anymore.

 

Other reasons for the rank ... Uh, guess I'm just better at the game.

Meh, if the numbers don't lie, then Justin Bieber's music has more merit than - you know, actually good music.

 

All that said, hopefully the game improves. Probably won't, but if it does - well, that'd be good. Each to their own anyway.

They (R*) have earned it. Good. bad, whatever. Deal with it. Profit motive. Revenue is voluntary. You want something else (?), create it then, build your own company (like back in the days... in the 80's and 90's) and create your own GTA-like game. Lots of competent modders out there! Create, support, enjoy. No? Ok.

I remember that Xbox guy, back when Microsoft were planning to effectively ban second hand games - he was saying how people had to just "deal with it". People complained enough, and "deal with it" became a meme when he got fired lol. Oh, and we can get second hand games too.

 

If I had a spare 270,000,000+ dollars, I might try making something of my own. Until then, I'm just going to complain and hope the company gets some sense back; stops sh*tting on certain aspects of the game, etc.

R* is inherently "corrupt", just like EA Games (they've destroyed a lot of good old games), or like the hole concept of "democracy". There's no "healing" from within. But there is competition. Single player has been dead since the advent of 2015. Who hasn't achieved 100% at this point? Everyone has moved on to Online years ago. I'm never touching single player again, just as I have never done with any game after attaining 100% completion. GTA Online is where the player base and the potential for revenue is today, which R*/TT have clearly understood. Only a few misfits who never liked playing with/against others are still seriously whining about SP DLC. Get it through your retarded heads that a 4-year old game will never get new SP DLC.

Promises are promises and few people actually share that sentiment.

 

And sure as hell people are gonna keep complaining :D

At the very least, they can make them for vehicles that are more interesting.

 

Then again, now that I say that - well, soon there'll be flare dispensers that don't actually let out flares.

 

I think it would be more along the lines of the flares actually working - then the next update adding new vehicles with upgrades that let them shoot missiles that ignore flares... followed by another update that upgrades flares to decoy those missiles....

Eh, it's less 'if you don't like it, make your own', and more 'if you don't like it, tough - that's all there is'. 'Make your own' is fine if you don't like a particular brand of burger or coffee or whatever - being unhappy with the current state of a ma-hoosive big-budget video game with virtually no comparable alternative on the market really is just a 'take it or leave it' situation.

 

Heck, most of the other GTA-style sandbox games don't really compare to what GTAO offers, and that's still talking about games on the level of Mafia III, Watch Dogs 2, Saints Row IV, etc. - I imagine the average GTAO player working from scratch with a miniscule budget would be lucky to make something on a par with this:

As for whether 'profit above all' is necessarily going to be the best thing for GTAO and the GTA series beyond, I don't know - I can't help wondering that despite people playing the heck out of Gunrunning and forking out for the expensive stuff this time, if R* might actually be hitting the limit in terms of how far they can push that angle. Might be that going too hard with things like research/fast-tracking results in people being less inclined to take part next time, for all that the raw numbers are favourable at the moment.

 

Look at something like Watch Dogs - first game was hyped to the moon, pre-ordered in huge numbers, making it a financial success, only to be deemed generally disappointing. Ubisoft committed to a sequel because it was a top seller, but because people cooled off on the original, Watch Dogs 2 didn't do nearly as well. Which is sadly ironic, because the general consensus was pretty darn favourable, and that WD2 actually fixed a lot of what people didn't like about the first game.

You know that gta has been around 20 years and gta online has only been the focus for 4 of those years. Singleplayer has been the foundation of gta the 16 years before. Without the singleplayer games you couldn't even play gta online. Its ironic you can't play gta online without gta v. Those who don't like playing with/against others don't like playing gta online with other players because it is an unbalanced mess and full of trolls. Rockstar said we were getting singleplayer dlc back in 2014. They said we were getting it so people are expecting it. Its not like there asking about it for no reason.

Don't people know that they said RDR2 is coming out in spring of 2018 and not the release date. GTA 5 was coming out in "spring of 2013" and they released it in September of 2013 instead. RDR2 is going to get delayed again. Every game they have made since at least gta 3 has been delayed. Thats as far as I checked back.

 

And too Minecraft has more game sales than GTA 5 ever will. So they went from a massive amounts of game copies sold to 80 million copies SHIPPED to retailers to 85 million copies sold.

Well then, unless you're speaking of corporatism, which might prevent you in filling this market niche, there's nothing which would tell you what the alternatives on the market would be.
