Warlord of San Andreas

104 members have voted

  1. 1. Do you consider your Character a Warlord at this point?

    • Yes.
    • No, if so, explain what you consider your Character then.
    • I don't consider my Character anything.

One of the car-sourcing runs for the Import/Export garage is to steal a car from a warlord, so there's the get-out.

From there, whether or not you yourself are a warlord, is up to you.

With all honesty, GTA Online doesn't really provide the proper tools for one to become a true warlord.

I would only consider one to be a warlord if they are able to fill a session with at least 10 people that would be constantly on his side

Exactly.

Warlords don't drive Post Vans and Garbage trucks.

My character is what I want him to be on the day.

What he will always be though, is a dick.

They can use words like CEO, MCP and warlord all they want. They're still not giving us employees that do stuff for us while we sit comfortably in our apartments, sipping wine or chugging beers while watching crappy reality TV.

Yes, yes, we can hire players to work with us. But that is WITH us and it is temporary. If we were really any of the above (perhaps with the exception of MCP, I take it they'd be more involved) we would have NPC's to collect and sell stuff for us. At least as an option. It'd be a little slower and profit would be a tad lower, but it would be "automated" that way or directed from the control stations (office, bunker laptop).

You can put a gerbil in the driver seat of a Formula 1 race car, but just the fact it's sitting there does not make it a race driver. We're not warlords or anything. We're filthy rich and too stupid to let other people (NPC's) work the dangerous jobs for us.

No. We're all just disposable pawns of R* to feed their Money Addiction by buying their Shark Cards. We can easily be replaced by the next 12v in line with their mum's credit card and in return have the honest, hard-working grinders suffer. The Rich get Richer (R*) and Poor get Poorer (Us).

EDIT: Maybe too deep.

No, definitely not. I'm just an aging tennis player and semi-retired racer who is stuck in a strange foreign land far away from home, doing whatever they can do to survive. I don't consider myself "war" anything; come to think of it, I don't even like war. Eh, perhaps a different argument for a different time, but I'm honestly a bit irked at the overly warlike elements that have been added. This is supposed to represent Los Angeles, not some overly hostile island in the midst of a pseudo-WWIII type scenario. Does every bloody vehicle need military grade armour and weapons with an infinite or seemingly infinite amount of ammunition? Jesus Christ, it's just becoming rather ridiculous at this point. Don't get me wrong, some of these things can be fun when restricted to certain jobs and game modes, but free roam has certainly lost what little it had left of feeling like actual GTA.

Either way, nah, it isn't really good trying to pigeonhole every character into the same mold. We all have our own playing styles, preferences, and how we see our characters; I personally don't give much thought or consideration to the loosely written canon of our supposed free roam narratives. I don't even own a bunker or MC business; therefore, the day-to-day life of my character is a stark contrast compared to those who are involved in such endeavours or spend the majority of their time within free roam lobbies.

Besides, I'm still waiting for the casino to open. Not that I think it will, but if it did, that would add a completely different dimension to how I view my character. I can identify with gambling for a living, and I could and would definitely get involved with the RP element of such if it were added to this game.

"Fortified" VIP work is the closest thing we have.

Only children use that term. So no.

We are still just millionaire thieves.

So I should start using that term now? I mean, I have the heart of a child*.

My character is a thief, not a warlord.

I think the whole GR dlc doesn't fit into GTA at all.

I'd consider my character a nomad. Moving from less lucrative to more lucrative work, and living off the fat of the IAA and high criminal organisations. He would never be as big as Merryweather or SecruoServ, but he does the dirty work. My character has progressed to a point where he is capable of beginning his own enterprise - but its merely a proxy between Organisation A (the group who wants to sabotage Org. B) and Organisation B.

My character's empire is nothing more than an accumulation of wealth conceived by being an errand boy for higher powers in San Andreas. My character is not a warlord, just a thief, a cleaner and a hired gun. He is as strong in combat as a warlord, but has a business way less powerful.

with access to VTOL jump jets (granted outdated jets) and MBT's aswell as a massive array of air vehicles

not to mention SAM launchers and APC's.

im not saying were warlord's but the US military would disagree

My characters are sitting in Paleto in their homes. Feet up, retired from the gopher point A to point B nonsense sipping on Long Island Iced Teas. Gopher missions are for amateurs, R* sycophants and people who don't have the creative imagination to engage in their independent criminal enterprise.

As the Mayor said upthread, make some different criminal choices and the whole forced grind you get to skip all that militarized nonsense which doesn't belong in the game to begin with.

You are only a warlord if that's the whole PVP king penis with your insurgent mentality you are stroking.

Cheers.

Does someone want to explain how the hell our Characters came to Los Santos as a friend of Lamar wanting to Street Race and make a few bucks and ended up becoming the f*cking Warlord of San Andreas, or not?

Because selling 100$ cash cards to 10 year olds who's moms buy those in lieu of a babysitter or taking time to actually raise their children.

My Character is just a successful businessman. Nothing more. Nothing Less.

You're at war everyday in this game. Its not about what DLC was added, you could take back to October 2013 with just the basics we all had and it still was war on the streets.
