I know, that file of the game is easy to modify, but I have several doubts about its modification, I write this because I would like the cars that circulate in the streets are not so repetitive and give each location unique cars:


1: Which vehicles can not be assigned in the list?


2: What is the limit number per line, only indicates that it is similar with the pedgrp.dat


3: Do you know the locations indicated by the popcycle when it comes to walking the streets? Only I know about gangs, boats and cheats popcycle.

This subject can be a complicated mess, so forgive me if my details are off a but I should be fairly close to the mark.

 

1) Any vehicle can be assigned to a car group but not all vehicles will spawn in traffic. The cars can't spawn unless they have a ped in the area that can drive it. Which peds can drive the cars is controlled by handling.cfg, iirc. Vehicles like Topfun rarely spawn despite it's inclusion on the list. Generally, heavy equipment like dozers and dumpers won't spawn in traffic.

 

2) Max 23 vehicles per car group. Anything beyond this limit is ignored. A couple of the standard groups exceed this limit, which is why the Phoenix and Euros never spawn in traffic.

 

3) The map linked below shows each zone, but doesn't have information on popcycle. The editor linked below has a zone tool that can show the current settings for each zone. The zone types are established by the main scripts when a new game is started. Sanny Builder 3 can decompile those scripts for you.

What is cheats popcycle? What we can do with this?

 

 

Editing the cargrp spawning vehicles, with this i check my added vehicles with EVERYONEISPOOR or EVERYONEISRICH Cheats

Yes. The popcycles are assigned by main.scm during the intro missions so it's not too tough to find which zones were assigned to entertainment, for example, by searching through a script that's been decompiled with Sanny Builder. However, I am unaware of any zone maps with this information. The Savegame Editor 3,x has a zone tool that can display the popcycle for each zone.

To further add to what Orion said about #1:

 

Airplanes, helicopters, boats, trains, and trailers cannot be used on the streets (pretty obvious) 

There are path nodes for boats and they spawn in certain parts of the water. Only the ped "male01" is seen piloting them. I don't think any pedestrians are in any aircraft during normal gameplay... I'm almost positive aircraft are just spawned vehicles on scripted path nodes and not actually piloted by anything. Heck, the AT-400 and Andromada will always stay airborn even if you manage to destroy one that flies over. 

 

Dunno about the RC vehicles but I doubt they'd work. 

They can use the Vortex, though. Odd one out.

My question is only for the cars. My idea is to add a few vehicles and i want some certain vehicles to appear on the street. Pretty obvious here.. So lets say i add some old pickup truck that i want to see on the streets in the countryside so i add it to farmers group. I dont know exactly where it spawns but if i drive around i may see it somewhere in the countryside.. Get the idea so far? I dont need the exact location just the radius in which it might spawn. And since some of the others aren't as easy as farmers. For example Business, Clubbers And Entertainers thought someone might know a rough area where they spawn under each or some groups. Would be a good idea to sort them in the notepad so they arent so mixed up and see exactly how many groups there are. And is the groups name supposed to be after the vehicle names?
