So I did some digging and found a new RDR2 screenshot on Xbox Live servers!

Regardless if you can upload pictures or not... What game is that from? Why is the UI so elaborate? Still not fully convinced it's fake. Why exactly would there be a full-on new Midnight Club logo? As I said, the effort made to fake all of this is much more of a waste than the temporary reaction it has caused.

 

It's still weird to me. I don't use Xbox so I don't know how uploading pics works if it can happen.

Being able to upload pics to XBL doesn't disprove it entirely, but it does bring doubt. The pic I uploaded had the same low res blurryness to it that the Midnight Club picks did, which to me says it was uploaded through Xbox DVR. The question then is why would a developer of an unannounced game risk exposure by uploading screenshots through game DVR? It isn't done automatically, it's manually uploaded. Hmph.

Maybe shownig a friend and they f*cked up? Likely not the first time it happens. The guy's profile also seems to be gone, and the orignial links were valid at one point (the error message differs). Even if those were uploaded via the DVR I don't see from what game that could be. That's way too weird to be a fake. At least the WWO debacle didn't have an UI or anything, just some smartly taken screenshots in a western setting.

 

Can you transfer any file to the DVR?

It means that screen is not from some less known Steam Greenlight game.

The last picture posted by a random on reddit is from that site, that's solved, but what about the other two from the OP I wonder... The car reflections were different than the last screen along with that menu screen.

 

(I am leaning towards fake now but I am still curious)

Not gonna lie, i had my doubts. They gave up on Midnight Club in 2010. That's the end of that. Now, Back to waiting for RDR2 news :/

Yeah that was the article I used to reference when I said there was no more MC, but things change frequently at Rockstar, we can't take anything for granted. Also, there were "tests" for a Midnight Club 5 inside the Midnight Club LA files, you never know if they could have brought some stuff back.

Yeah the article mentions that at first the MC team was told that there would be a 5th one and there was some work done. But apparently the management was expecting them to do the impossible because they didn't have enough time and such. I guess they were asked to work on Red Dead instead.

Yeah, I'm still very curious about the first two in the OP. The third one was posted by a random on Reddit, but it did have the HUD/UI so that's interesting.

I lean towards ONLY the 3rd image being fake ... which some random reddit user posted without any source/link ... if you have a close look at the HUD/UI the font for SUPERCHARGERS isn't in line with WHEELS ... it's so narrow compared to it ... also the box for NOVA has the same dimension as in the image showing the Nissan ... again very doubtful ... the only thing I'm curious about ... if you look top right, the mail icon seems to have another arrow or do I see it wrong??? Also the $ 856 are not aligned perfectly in the middle of the white box ... unlike in the Nissan screenshot.

Not sure what to believe anymore ... we need more evidence!

There's one picture that I can't emulate and that's the small game icon. I tried uploading a small picture (an avatar) through Xbox DVR and it stretched the image way up. Not sure if there's something different you can do to keep it small that I've not figured out yet.

I believe the first 2 are real either way I bet we're getting a announcement sometime this year but who knows but they're definitely real

Eh. Anyone could make a logo. This guy did a damn good job at making a HUD/UI. I'm pretty sure a logo wouldn't be that hard to do.

^ I guess so ... what's kinda strange also ... would R* really call it 'just' Midnight Club.

I think they'd number it or use a subtitle as in previous entries ... the effort probably was too much to think about a subtitle or to make a cool looking 'number' logo.

Maybe it's just me but i don't think R* would ever do a 'reboot'. I mean GTA IV was kind of a reboot well, a soft-reboot i guess you could say but if they were to make another MC they'd either call it with a number or have some sort of subtitle. That's my opinion though.
