I've always enjoyed your topics, fw3; it's great to see a new one! :D

I haven't lived with my parents since, eh, probably before a few of our fellow members were born :O but there are definitely a few things that can ruin my gaming experience entirely or at least distract me enough not to fully enjoy it.

I suppose my phone ruins most everything; especially if it is a call or text from work or something work related. Get f*cked, no, I am not coming into work on my off day and I'm really not interested in discussing monotonous, work related topics at home when these conversations can easily wait until I'm *gasp* actually at work! Ugh, it drives me insane; I get anxiety every time the phone goes off; it's really become a troubling part of my every day life in more ways than one.

My internet provider often seems to conduct maintenance during my prime playing times; I'll just be sitting there, playing and having a chat with someone and it will say "LAN cable not connected". I get up to check the router and everything is blank. :/ Fortunately, it doesn't generally stay off for a long period of time, but it will often cut in and out for a few minutes and take my mind away from the gaming experience.

As far as the game itself is concerned, there's just too many to list. Aside from all of the overly expensive, futuristic items and most things looking and feeling as if they were ripped from the pages of a bad WWIII programme, I suppose poor matchmaking, idle players, and sh*tty game options can easily ruin things for me rather quickly. If I decide to job search/host and the matches end up being five against two or if I notice that more than half of a team is standing idle, I start to lose interest right away. Racing can do it for me too--if some arsehole is purposely blocking the track or if people are just ramming into one another, I generally end up leaving and closing the game. I just can't be arsed to deal with the trollery and stupidity of people who do things like this just for the "lulz".

My two year old twins have this habit of ejecting me from whatever vehicle I'm in. It's like they know exactly what key to press. I fly using a game controller and kb/mouse for everything else (on PC). If I'm flying, they have a habit of sneaking up to my keyboard while I'm focused on the screen and hitting F. Or the flip: while I'm driving, they'll grab the controller and kick me out.

The fact that I can't upload pictures to Snapmatic NOR change my avatar on Social Club.

Thankfully, I can take raw screenshots and sh*tpost them here to get them likes, so thanks guys.

When that feeling starts to kick in literally everything goes against you. Be it stupid Npc's ramming you on purpose in a sale causing unnecesary deaths or delays, getting blown up or shot upon spawning in a lobby or just failing the most simple tasks, Yes days like these I feel like putting the controller down. Irl issues hardly interfere with my gameplay experience though so..

IRL - drinking and playing, especially Bourbon. Waking up at the keyboard and not recalling what I was doing before I passed out is an interesting experience. My bank balance usually gives me a good idea though, +several thousand k, hmmmm, must have been doing heists lol.

My 8 year old son looking over my shoulder as I do a Coke run and asking if I can go visit the place where girls have big boobies. I didnt know he knew about strip club. Little pervert...

In Game - my own stupidity. Last night I wasnt paying attention and ended up replacing my Dune FAV with a Sandking. The f*ck up cost me $850k. Then I ran a gun sale in the Phantom Wedge trying hard to run everything off the road (I was bored). Crashed the truck too many times and it blew up 100 metres short of the drop off marker. $210k down the drain. Went and did some stunt races and got put in a lobby with 16 others. Avoided the first corner chaos, got a good position only to be rammed off the track repeatedly. Same happened next race so I got the sh*ts, closed the game and went to bed. It just wasnt a good night haha.

It's late summer, and so that time of year - particularly as I live out in the sticks.

Nothing yanks me out of the game quite like something scuttling past in my peripheral vision, and ...oh, right, it's just one of my temporary house guests, popping out to say "hi!"... :catspider:

In real life not much.. maybe the annoying dog of my neighbor with which we had argued several times..

In game and one that happened today too.. hackers, modders, etc.. i came to tune up my insurgent, when i was done, after switching at least 6 sessions with at least 1 modder in each one and finished tunning.. i couldn't take it anymore.. went to titanfall 2's new co op dlc.

my most common gtao experience killing experiences is ether griefers who keep on attacking me or the dreaded "unknown network connection" error that drops me to single player (when your starting to have fun).

Most notably, my experience was once killed when several religious people showed up at my door and wanted to talk to me about our lord and savior Jesus Christ...

... while I was busy spawn killing an annoying try-hard who was busy screaming obscenities over the open mic, which was very loudly being broadcast through my TV when I answered the door...

Strangely, they haven't been back to my place since then...

And guess what, I haven't tidied my room all week either! #livingthedream

I hope that never happens to you again lmao. I had that happen once early a morning still sh*tfaced from partying too much. Wish I never had opened the door... They start questioning me stuff like: " Why do you believe the World is in such bad shape right now ? Conflicts and wars waging, who do you think is responsible for these ?" I was like listening and nodding trying to keep from throwing up the liquor I had ingested last night really just thinking to myself can't you see I'M in bad shape ?

  • Trying to join a heist only to find that it's full, that I've been unceremoniously yanked from the session that I was in, and that I'm being dropped into another lobby.

GTA's increased focus on military hardware. I enjoy Grand Theft Auto, not Grand Theft Battlefield.

Edgelordz with tryhard face paint, rebreather, motocross madness paintball mask, bullet proof helmet, full-on military uniform, bullet-proof vest, parachute, night-vision goggles, and/or hideous, tacky glitched outfit with accessories glitching and clipping through other articles of clothing. Why do you need three vests or a horse mask and night-vision goggles?

Bullshark Testosterone. No human being can walk off a heavy sniper round, regardless of what they have on.

Hovering in the clouds before entering a lobby only to hear vile, speaker cancer before actually spawning in.

When the gfx card driver acts up and crashes the game, forcing me to restart the computer, that is quite aggravating if it happens several times in a row. There are even fixes for this stupid Wattman problem, but so far not a single one did the job. :(

Basically, only untimely connection issues and the occasional 'surprise' 30-60 minute X1 update before I can even get started. Limited playtime and whatnot...😒

Side note; I enjoy the 'backstories', that accompany some of the basic answers, in this thread especially. They make me chuckle. 😅

Ok I got a new one. Was playing missions yesterday and doing Titan on a Job. 3 of us actually did the mission, 2 of them got into Titan while I killed the rest of the npc's. Was running around the building to kill the last npc when I got ran over by some afking tard. How bad are you at this game that you have to inflate your k/d by running over your teammates in a contact mission? Anywhoo I instantly shut my ps4 off, don't got time for that BS. So that's what kills the mode for me every time.

I didn't really like the moment when a crew mate's connection failed when the last person was about to get in the dinghy at Pacific Standard..

Played that heists dozens of times, but still can't stand it if something like that happens.

When my dog jumps up and starts barking into the mic. She is part eskie so she has this high pitch yoodle like bark so I have to quickly mute my mic so no one goes deaf.

Seeing a bike flying through the air

Flying bikes do not belong in GTA. This was supposed to be a game about street criminals struggling to get to the top. About robbing cars, holding up stores and banks, hijacking armored trucks. Battling the cops, street racing, and if you needed to get somewhere in a real hurry, you got yourself a chopper or a plane. You assassinated people, you sold drugs, you turned a quick buck anyway you could.

I'm sure they are fun & all that, but its still a ridiculous thing

Get over it!

For some reason any time i boot up the game and sit down to relax my GF suddenly wants something. I already did the dishes, took out the trash, put the kids to bed, paid the bills, etc.

Then when I say i've done everything she starts to tease me by acting all sexy, not because she wants me bad she just wants attention. So i give her the attention she deserves but it just kills the gameplay to be like...

tumblr_ma73g3ZzMr1rvz879.gif

You rather play GTAO instead of spending time with your girlfriend?

Wow great contribution to the thread shadowless.........

thanks! :)

I think what you mean is outside interference with the game. I have quite a few instances with varying distractors. Let's see, one time I was in the middle of a Heist with friends and heard a loud bang and felt the house shake. I went to my balcony and there is some D-bag t-boned against my wifes' SUV. Then the D-bag proceeds to back up and almost ran over 3 people and hit 2 other cars on his attempted escape. The cops got him a block down and I had to go and give a statement of what I saw. The entire time I am thinking of the irony that I was just in a digital shootout with digital police and now I'm here on the street with real police and real guns and I am totally unarmed. We did not get to finish the heist that night. There are certainly others but this is the one I still get kicked around for.

flying bikes are for those who've legit grinded to reach the top like me. theres no better feeling than gliding above low level scrubs and peasants and I soar to my lofty mini mansion in vinwood hills.

The fact that a ghetto GSX with hydraulics in the ghetto costs more than a f*cking Bugatti, or the fact a 90's Skyline costs more than buying a f*cking Bently, or the fact that a set of chrome wheels costs more than most average cars, or that a f*cking Sultan RS costs more than buying an unmarked 50 cal. sniper, unmarked RPG, and an unmarked minigun all together.
