When I play online I kind of get angry when friendly people send you a friend request. Its very disrespectful because it's like ur forcing someone to be your friend and I get online anxiety so I leave online and block the person who sent the friend request

It's appropriate, yes (I think?). It's not meant to be a serious thing. Would they even really be considered friends as such, or just people to play with/team members?

I'm more of a lone wolf myself though. My friends list is pretty short, and mostly just people on here.

I only have about 10 friends on playstaion and they're from reddit and I don't talk online because I have anxiety

I only have 4 people on my list. I don't really interact with them unless one of them needs help with selling cargo or weapons. I never ask for help. I'm a lone wolf.

It's normal to send and receive friend requests in a game like Gta where there are many tasks and jobs that require teamwork.

I accept some but not all.

I've never paid it much mind. If I don't want to be friends with someone, I just delete the request at my leisure and continue playing. You aren't required to accept every request you get (and honestly, you shouldn't. Be a little particular about who you associate with)

If you're getting annoyed that easily by friend requests in GTA, i highly recommend you not to play Roblox. For 1 game you'll get like 5+ requests.

@SamisTheMan - Yes, it's appropriate. That's why the friend request function is there. Sometimes you will find some cool people online that you may want to game with again, so the friend request makes it easier for you to keep in touch. You never have to chat with them especially if you don't want to or are uncomfortable.

But like someone mentioned earlier, you can turn off the friend requests so no one can send them to you.

Is it disrespectful that someone perhaps enjoyed your company well enough and is interested in gaming with you again or that they are sincerely interested in being a friend? Wow, ok.

I respect the fact that many enjoying playing mostly alone; there isn't anything wrong with that, but as for it being disrespectful that someone would like to add you to their friends list? I mean, if everyone felt this way, no one would likely be friends with anyone. I also understand about anxiety, but as stated, you aren't forced to accept the request or even talk to them if you do happen to accept it. If they turn out to be abusive, you can always delete them. You could also do what were suggested and block anyone from sending the requests at all.

Good luck!

I feel sorry for you if you're being serious. I have pretty bad anxiety too so I know how bad it can affect someone. If it's this extreme for you then you should probably seek help.

Grimy waifu

How's that disrespectful exactly?

When I first bought a console I used to send friend requests everytime I stumbled upon someone who seemed good/interesting. Why? Simply because I wished to play the game with someone else. You don't want people to add you? Disable it if it's possible, period

I think it's normal, but i have mine disabled because of how many people thinking that it's a girl playing due to the female avatar.

It's enormously disrespectful. I usually call the police and/or burn my house down. Destroy it with fire you know.

I dont see any problems. Today i was playing Rocket league and got put into same team with this one guy several times. Super fun matches, our teamwork was good. He had to leave but sent friend request before doing so and asked if i wanna play later with him. Absolutely, he was a good teammate. This same situation could happen in GTAO when youre doing heists or MC work with randoms. If i find/am found by someone who is on the same playing level as i am i dont mind being "Psn" friends with them.

If people send friend requests, they often just want to be, well, friendly. Honestly, I've met some fantastic people here, in GTAO and of course in various other games and if it wasn't for the social aspect of online gaming, I know I probably wouldn't be playing.

It's certainly not inappropriate for people to send friend requests. After all, we're here because we (for the most part) enjoy GTAO, and people just want to share the experience and enjoyment with others.
