name the worst time r* had randomly gave you beast mode?

today while i was doing ceo work with a friend who i hired as an assistant (also body guard).

we just done some deliveries to my auto warehouse and also sold some cars from same warehouse, i was just outside my ceo office and was about to enter so i could do some more car deliveries when r* suddenly turned my female character into a werewolf, and after that happened i saw a random player run into a 24/7 store, ran into same store and mauled him and the store clerk!

for me today it was just dropped on me.

I never got to be the beast but you have to apply for it!, it won't happen suddenly from nowhere.. i did however kill one out of luck, he was in the north of the map, and i mean the north, up there in paleto bay, and i just got out from an activity and appeared there.. just by his side, took my rpg and easiest 25k or so in my life hahaha.

Also, because the beast is stronger, you can actually survive being shot down (even if the gunship itself isn't so lucky).

I call bs on this. You have to press right on the d-pad to have a chance at being turned into the beast, so this whole "r* suddenly turned..." probably wasn't as unexpected as you imply.

There's a difference between turning into the beast and having a chance at turning into the beast. Sh*t happens. People apply for something and forget about it or just assume they won't be it.

Mostly the forgetting part, I imagine.

 

That said, I'm going to throw in a disclaimer. I've never bothered with this or similar free mode activities so I don't know if there's a set timer that you can count on (pun intended) to turn someone into the beast after some announcement has been made or something.

I am guessing disconnect/lag out is the worst. A lot of times the moment it starts, it says the beast left. I have had all fm events hidden since GR probably will turn them on soon. Cause if youre fighting, your off radar and can take like 4 nades to the face. I always left hunt the beast on in the past.

There was this poor guy I played with who spawned next to me after a heist setup and he transformed into beast once we waited for the hosts reinvite. I think he was lucky to be the beast the 1st time but salty after I instantly blowed him up. Beastmode was running for 10sec until he died by my RPG's. I got my laugh, tbh.

I've never even seen the beast! or been him. I have killed one.. Didn't see him though, just had a rough guess at where he was and fired the Hydras cannons.

Beast is never unwanted, or random, so yeah I'm never surprised...

 

Fun as f*ck though, I could spend 30 minutes just kicking cars.

That event, along with everything else minus Criminal Damage and that one were we must deliver a briefcase, are always turned off here.

in the almost 2 years since the event was introduced i have been lucky to be selected as the beast a whoopin 2 times!

 

both times were a few months ago, the first time i played the beast as supposed, the second time i just abused the off radar to grief the session hahaha

That's all I ever use it for anymore. Luckily have been beast more than twice though.

 

Most recently, I used it to grief a crew we(GTAF Crew) were fighting. Got around 100 kills before they finally killed me.

I have been the beast about six times now. It's pretty easy to get all ten markers. People playing it often don't have the patience to wait and instead run from one marker to another, thus never giving themselves time to go off radar again, regroup and look on the radar to see where everybody is before heading to the next one, farthest away from the crowds.

 

I love hunt the beast, and if I'm the hunter, all I need is a Buzzard. I usually hover over the observatory at the map's midpoint and wait for him to appear, then I can dash over to where Beastie is and take him out.

I think R* should turn female characters into a morbidly obese wolfs just to piss off some feminists.

yes you can, that's how i quickly get to the landmarks instead of running to them!

and i have a habit of causing the npc drivers to go into a full blown panic while driving a car in beast mode!!

since i'm talking about beast mode would be great if your driving around in a car during beast mode and this song came on the in game radio?
