Returning years later - GTA V - advice on what to buy & import/export

I'm returning to GTA V after years of not playing. I'm going to be playing for a while now and would appreciate any good advice on what to buy to start out in general and I'm thinking of the import/export business to make it fun for my son who's now going to play.

I've got 2mil to start, any advice is appreciated!

Import/export is the best if you wanna be working on it all the time, if not, then businesses (either bunker or MC) are nice cause you can supply them, go play around, and they make the money for ya.

What do you already have?

Import/export is a good way to earn money.

You can get standard, mid and toprange cars to sell after modifying.

There is a trick to get toprange cars only after a while:

- save up 10 standard range and 10 midrange in your vehicle warehouse, without duplicates

- when there are 10 - 10: next time you source a vehicle it will be toprange every time

Have you played the heists? If not, they're fun to do, can recommend them if you haven't done them yet. You need a high end appartment for that, and an armoured car (f.i. armoured kuruma) is convenient. Also a heavy vest as saved outfit.

The new gunrunning DLC is also fun. Can earn you a lot of money, but also drains a lot of cash. So I would save that for later. If I would start now after some years and wanted to play all aspects I would:

1. first focus on Import/export for cash. And play the Heists and Lamar lowrider missions (the last for fun, doesn't yield that much)

2. when earned some millions and seen much of 1. try out the bunker stuff

3. MC clubhouse and coke factory, play the biker missions (I'd safe this for last because biker business doesn't give you that much extra cash besides the I/E and bunker. In terms of Return on Investment: it's not worth it. Fun to try when you already have done 1 and 2 though.

Have fun, lots of new stuff too try out when you've been away for a while ;-)

Thx! I haven't bought a single thing yet, I did hookup my son with the armored Kumura, a sweet apartment, some guns, stuff like that, and then the other one went and bought a biker club, but he's new to so I'll have to help him with that. I am going to follow your advice, thx!

What should I buy now if I'm not going to start the import/export? I want to help them make game money so I'm not spending real money buying stuff 😀

I/E is the most profitable way to earn money, currently nothing comes even close. You technically could invest into a bunker, special cargo warehouse and/or coke biker business, but honestly, they seem like supplementary sources of income, rather than your full time activities. Breaking even may take you some time, and selling missions can be impossible to finish alone, if you're not caucious before starting them.

Heists are fun and pretty profitable, however you need 3 competent players if you want to complete every one of them without problems. If you're ambitious, I'd recommend you giving Criminal Mastermind a try, although it's a difficult time consuming task, requiring knowledge and experience about every heist mission and good team organization. Possible 12-14M$ are worth it, though.

Regular heisting with randoms and/or friends can be a great way of socializing and finding new, active and skilled friends.

If nothing aforementioned speaks to you, you can always try out VIP/CEO missions - Sightseer and Headhunter can be a quick, yet very repeivite and tedious source of money, definitely better than regular contact missions. On the other hand, you have Kuruma, so you're pretty much ready to do (nearly) anyhing.

I wouldn't buy too many things at first then. Just earn some cash by playing the missions/heists/races that you like and save up for the Office and Vehicle warehouse so you do the car missions and earn game money more efficiently. Despite you have a clubhouse, I would only consider the coke business later, prioritize the I/E.

Regarding vehicles you really don't need that much for 90% of the fun, and regular use. Things I use/used most:

1) armored kuruma, for missions and heists - when you are experienced with all heists you don't need it anymore, but recommended for first

2) buzzard attack helicopter - perfect for contact missions, fast transport, and later on the bunker supply missions

3) one or two super cars that you like

4) one nice fast bike

And if you are in for Heists, I have one strong advice:

Buy a Heavy Utility Vest at a clothing store, go to the lady/lad at the desk and 'safe outfit'. Then use the option 'Player saved outfit' in the heist mission startup menu so you and crew can use your heist outfit (the menu where you set difficulty, invite players etc). The heavy vest gives you significantly extra armor in Heists (doesn't work in freeroam, there it's only cosmetic)

IE is the best money maker end of story, a bunker takes 11hrs to get you a little over a million, with you paying for further upgrades etc. And that's if you steal supplies, if not subtract the amount of purchase.

I can make a million in 5hrs with IE

Some like bunkers, but Ive also seen plenty of other players say they regret buying into gunrunning & that they will shut it all down as soon as they get the few item upgrades they want.

So I would be wary & really do your homework on it before deciding if you want to buy in to gunrunning.

For IE you should have just enough to get yourself the cheapest office & vehicle warehouse. As long as you don't add any of the extras like gun lockers, tarting up the interiors, office accommodation etc. Office. Maze bank west - vehicle warehouse Le Mesa.

Good luck with it

I agree with you that I/E is (one of the) most efficient way(s) of getting money in the game.

The bunker however gives a nice side-income if you plan to play the game for a long period after you buy it (takes a while before you earned back the expenses, a lot quicker than with a biker business though).

When one hasn't played for some years (like the OP states) I would wait before investing in a bunker, and focus on I/E. When things get old again, I think the bunker adds additional interesting gameplay and can be cost effective.
