And once you complete the story, there's nothing else to do but play through the story again with a different difficulty and mode. But it's a good game to play if you're bored. Ash_735 Posted October 26, 2018 Share Posted October 26, 2018 Being honest, if you're replaying Max Payne 1 or 2 now, just go for the PC versions, they were better than the console versions back in the day and just the clear choice now, it helps overcome the graphics issue and playing it at 60fps just helps it feel more enjoyable, especially on the higher difficulty settings where quick tapping and fast reactions in all the chaos helps. I still think the way the story is told is better than 80% of games these days, the way Rockstar did the graphic novel type cutscenes was genius honestly. The game is very immersive and bleak. The movement mechanics and bullet time were way ahead of it's time. It's an absolute gem. Sure the graphics are showing their age, and Max Payne's face looks silly, but the game is a one in a kind experience. I literally play through the whole trilogy once a year from start to finish when we get our first big snowfall here in New England. The first game just does everything right and oozes atmosphere. The gameplay (bullet-time) is very addictive and enjoyable. You should definitely give it a try, it was one of my best gaming experiences ever.
