How do you feel or think about in-game name of your car in reality?

As my hubby just bought a FJ Cruiser in reality, I keep calling it Bee Jay. And I like the name.

 

Also each time when I see a Wrangler I call it Mesa instead.

I'm infected/polluted tbh. As far as I remember the GTA names, it always happens. Driving arround and talking to my hun - look at this bada** Shafter <- his reaction. Same for Obbey's and BF's "Bürgerfahrzeug" for another example. Fits pretty well in the topic "You know you play to much GTA if..."

 

I'd like to see my RL-car ingame so I can call it like that, but it does not exsist. Same for my motorcycle, sadly. (OK, closest might be the PCJ-600, but her RL name is Olga which is much nicer)

No, I personally think that it's unnecessary to call any real-life car with its GTA spoof's name.

 

I just call my Explorer what it is; a Ford Explorer. I don't call it the Dundreary Landstalker or whatever because it's a bit childish and people will think that I'm calling a Ford a Land Cruiser.

But yes I definitely do. I mean I don't know my cars well but rolls royces are super diamonds to me. Range Rover - Baller. "Hey it's a t20 " or if my dad is watching car shows, "x80 proto" n what not I think it's fun. I didn't know having fun was considered childish looool

I only do it when I don't now the actual RL name of the car. For example I can't for the life of me remeber what the Dukes is called in real life, so I just call it Dukes when I'm around my (alos GTA playing) friends.

I'm the other way around. I call the in-game Adder a Veyron. I did caught myself calling a Charger at a car show a Dukes, friend burst out laughing.

Wow, seems a lot of people use the Dukes name! Seems to be a popular mix-up.

not long ago i was talking with a client and his son about a accident i saw on my way to their location, and i was like

I used to do this alot with this game and IV, but much less so these days. Its cool to see how many real life cars made it into GTA.

 

The Cavalcade and Coquette are similar in name to their IRL counterparts. Sometimes I'd interchange Mercedes with Benefactor and if I see a GL/GLS go "there's an XLS".

 

Like LiveJoker, when I'm in game it actually works the opposite. "they drove off in a Prius" instead of calling it a Dilettante. Always call the Buffalo the Charger, the Seminole the Grand Cherokee, Infernus Classic the Diablo, etc, etc. Real names are easier to recognize for people who don't play GTA that much.

I call my ford explorer an explorer because there's nothing in GTA like it
