I'm watching a livestream on the Casino DLC and there are so many hints to Vice city in the "Wall Art" part of the Casino.

Some interesting domain names owned by Take 2, haha. They've .dev domains registered, one of which is called "alcatraz.dev". Not long ago, I watched the 1979 movie Escape from Alcatraz and came to know about the infamous Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary located on Alcatraz island in San Francisco Bay and which opened in 1934 until its closure in 1963. The island, including the prison, was featured in the beat version of San Andreas, but it didn't make it to the final game. Who bets that VI starts with our protagonist escaping from the fictional version of Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary? Names inspire and they slip to domains... and casting calls!

I made a comment thinking the LV setting was a sure thing but Yan said its one of the lots of places Rockstar is thinking about,basically brainstorming about next GTA and that rumor is from 2012.

@Auditore ah, ok ... LV 1970's would be a great setting in my opinion.

It seems we have no hints to talk about,so im gonna let my mind run wild for a bit.

Dan said writing a GTA game nowadays would be a bit of a nightmare. Now that makes me think about two options:

1-Rockstar will make sequels about other franchises before tackling GTA 6,like Red Dead and Bully.That means they can write about different stuff and not put their hand on fire trying to write satire for GTA.

2-GTA 6 is next BUT it  will be very different from other GTAs,kinda like what GTA 4 did taking a more serious(and kinda depressing)approach to the franchise.

But this time they would have a less edgy approach to humor.Red dead is funny and is still critical of modern day american politics without the south park humor(the game openly mocks jeff sessions).Small town GTA would be a good choice,it would avoid the chaos of big cities and all the insanity it brings(politicians,stock brokers,celebrities).

It would,but at the same time its not much is it? Las Vegas isn't big and the rest of it is a big desert.

Las Vegas and San Francisco ... that'd be a dream setting ... Los Santos, hm, not sure if I need that anytime soon again. I'm just not feeling Los Angeles as a city for a videogame.

Casino and crime story

 

Even though crime story took place in the 60s I loved Ray Luca's rise to power.

 

LV could work in a two city game. LV and Chicago or Kansas City. Mafia from your city sends you over to LV to run its casino operations.

Speaking of venturas idk if its just me but the subtitles when you rescue tao cheng in the new casino dlc say (incoherent rambling) while hes ranting and i couldve sworn he said “las venturas” in one sentance

The document leak that showed LV as a setting had "CASINO?" The housers definetly saw that movie but again,Las Vegas is kinda boring as a open world.

I like the idea of San Fierro plus Las Venturas with maybe another city.

All things considered, New York and Miami are even further away from each other than LV and SF. But by this point we've all at least entertained the rumor about both being in the one game.
