Because it clearly says that the predictions/outlook in that document is from predictions from T2 themselves, not CS. They just gathered some information from T2.

 

Now I looked it up and this quote isn't even from that document it seems? Which I now don't even know what to believe, because maybe now the Credit Suisse predictions speak of different tiem periods when it comes to Fiscal year, which would explain all games being wrong by half a year (RDR2, Borderlands 3), and 3Q FY17 ending on 7th february 2017. That would mean 4Q FY2017 ends for them in may 2017 (and every consecutive year onwards) so the time brackets are clearly different here than in your quote. So yes, they could still be right about GTA VI initial release being set for 1st half of 2020, but knowing R* there will be a push to late 2020 (or early 2021, but still on current gen as well).

If it's coming only for Next Gen then probably not but it's not impossible. If it's coming for CG as well then of course they could.

I have been telling myself Bully 2 will be next for like 8 years now, however everytime R* announced a new game I was disappointed that it isn't Bully 2 ... that's not to say I did not enjoy their games over the years - I loved them! - but I just hope that this time Bully 2 really is their next game, we deserve a sequel to one of Rockstar's finest games.

 I really  don't understand why people are this excited over Bully game and how can they want Bully 2 to be released next over GTA VI. It's like a waste of time and opportunity for a lesser game.

That quote is from T2's earnings report. As for Credit Suisse's projection, it can be true as much as it can be false. They have as much information about GTA VI as any of us. There's absolutely no importance to their projections or any relevance to their research papers except for their clients who trust them with their own money.

No one's here saying that GTA VI is coming out 2020, I'm just stating that it's still possible. If anything ,there are only people here who say for certain that it isn't coming out 2020 as if they had some special info about it that no one else has.

It's a text message. How it sounds is only how you read it and interpret it.

Okay but you do agree that the brackets for fiscal year are different for them vs your quote? Because logically it seems like that is the case and CS uses different time brackets (may-may, not feb-feb for a whole fiscal year).

Well R* are friends with Sony and do kinda owe them *cough* Agent *cough*
But they got the exclusivity deal for RDO who knows maybe R* will keep their partnership for their next game but for the game to be announced at Sony's conference? I'm not sure.

Didn't Sony say E3 is old news? If anything that wouldn't be E3, but their own Expo.

Don't remember them saying anything like that. They didn't show up this year because it's the last year before next-gen and they probably felt like their conference would be very lackluster because their lineup for this year was already revealed. They'll definitely come back next year for the PS5 and all the next gen games.

And they've been doing these Nintendo Direct style "State of Play" things every once in a while to show updates regarding their lineup.

They didnt show RDR2 on their stage they're not going to show GTA either.

 

Unless you count RDR2 being part of the montage lol.
