Maybe it is referencing how GTA4 was made alongside The Lost and Damned and The ballad of Gay Tony, three seperate GTA games made at a time?

TLaD and TBoGT weren't really separate games. They're just big expansions. They were however sold separately as EFLC.

I wouldn't say that. Pre production that early (like Ash has mentioned) was likely as much as discussions, ideas being floated round in their spare or off time. Not the typical pre production you'd expect. Maybe it's best not to use the term pre production. But any smart people would be constantly talking about where to go next (not geographically, but generally) with your major IP. Besides, any major developer isn't going to admit to anything like that regardless. If Rockstar were asked that question one week before they announced GTA 6, they'd still say nothing.

 

As for what it means, they don't actively develop game A, while doing pre production on game B, and also working on game C. Which, is technically true. You could use examples like 2008, and look at games like GTA IV, Midnight Club L.A., RDR1 and MP3... that's more than 3 games. I think they mean big expansive open world games. Which is part of the reason I expected another 5 year gap between RDR2 and GTA 6.

Not the whole idea. But it can be the earliest part of it, yeah. It's usually laying the foundations so you aren't starting from scratch when full development begins. But yeah, that would be the simplest way of describing it.

In an interview that was posted a couple of weeks before the release of RDR2 he mentioned "We might do another Red Dead if it does well enough and we've got other things to say"

What are the chances of them currently having a small team dedicated to Red Dead Next?

not that i think the doors thing means anything but think this game will release in 2021. 

 

with announcement this year.  

this game has been in making. 

 

 

since 2013 . 

 

rockstar probably then knew or had an idea of what they wanted to do. 

 

like i said my belief is the game will be lc vc a godfather/scarface inspired story. 

 

say a young man whose family were once the most powerful in liberty city . 

 

until his father dies now its up to him to put his family back on the top. 

 

in addition you play flashback missions as the players father showing his rise and fall to to the top of the criminal underworld. 

 

i thought maybe they would do ls but cant see it. 

 

they have gta v backwards comapt . 

 

and online can still be supported via event weeks etc. though i think bigger updates are over once gta 6 is out. 

 

rockstar will offer returning players free businesses money etc apartment to get started. 

 

plus you could still sell gta v at same time along with 6 .

I was more trying to support the notion that Narcos vibe isnt out of the question

 

because given the points I've made previously, the story was most likely outlined after Narcos came out (and not earlier)

Here's the thing. Narcos is based of real events. If GTA 6 is based of the life of Pablo Escobar, is it really influenced by Narcos? Or is it based of history? point of view, I guess.

If it's Miami in the 80's it has to be. Either way, that location fits that theme almost perfectly. Weather it's Narcos, Miami Vice, Scarface or Bad Boys for a more modern take. It's all very similar. Would make a great game.

I think the 2013 and 2021 on the doors was intentional, but only to make people discuss it like we're doing. It doesn't mean the next game is coming in 2021. They just figured that VI had a good chance of being released in 2021, so they decided to have some fun and maybe get it right and make all of us look for hints in GTA VI for the GTA VII release date.

GTA V did get delayed, originally it was supposed to be Q2 release (April, May, and June))

Cuba is the Carribbean though.

 

Me personally I'd prefer Vice City + some Carribbean island countries just because it's closer.

One thing we have to remember with this brazil Rio to vice city distance being too long to work, these Citys that Rockstar create are based from the real cities so technically if they wanted to make vice city close to Rio they can because it wouldn't be called Rio it would have another name and yeah they can place it north of vice city if they wanted to

Well rockstar is known for not having good management...im just going by what happened before,dev times get longer especially when it comes to rockstar and for the first time they worked under one banner instead of showing a specific rockstar studio,they said that everyone was working on rdr 2,of course they have small teams with gta online but the majority was working on red dead how would they have time for GTA 6?
