nah, if it was the case it'll be low res because it's viewed from a TV and actually not used in the game. They simply capture footage with their dev tools from GTA IV and make it into GTA V.

 

It was clearly remade for the RAGE that's used in GTA V, who knows why...

I wouldn't be so sure. You certainly can't say "clearly" without solid proof to back that up. Just watch the in game movie, could well be an updated version they used to shoot that movie. There are other TV ads, such as the Ammu-Nation trailer that uses Liberty City. Not much, but knowing Rockstar, I wouldn't put it past them to update it just for those things.

I know for a fact it's not Meltdown. Meltdown was shot within GTA IV (but modded on PC, so much so, they've been caught using trees from the ICEnhancer mod). That is a fully remastered Liberty City, different trees, different terrain models, etc. We've been through this at the time, it was a legit leak, it was also taken down as quick as ever.

Fair enough. In your opinion, what do you think they intended to use it for?

Not sure. It could've been anything, but the fact they've gone to the effort of even changing terrain models, I'd say V DLC or IV remaster of sorts.

I mean why would someone put that on their portfolio, besides nature parts, the textures appear to be same from IV (background building, the walkway, the lamp, wooden sign)

I am going to say it was beta testing for GTA 6 for the

Simple reason why recreate liberty city and then not use it In dlc that and it adds up with the other leaks

Rockstar create models from scratch in 3D Studio Max. They (not sure about the *current* status of this but I doubt it) have no such tools to just change terrain like SimCity.

by the looks of it would be exact copy of GTA 4 Liberty City and that isnt that exciting

 

Project Americas codename is most likely legit which would (most likely) mean (Vice City + South American city)

 

adding carbon copy Liberty City as well could feel kinda tacked on aka RDR1 map in RDR2...

In terms of the liberty city remaster looking thing, is there any chance it could be something made near the start of GTA V production as a test? (Like with the current rage engine for GTA V, they decided to test it by remastering that area?) As it seems like quite a random spot as well. Maybe they didn't want it released as it could cause confusion/fake hype.

I also remember something about it being done by an internal developer. Not a cancelled DLC/expansion whatever.

North Yankton style. 

 

To be fair to to the know they say In the video it  a rumour and they have the Miami and drug smuggling storyline right at least I am certain

I do. Now I'm not saying I believe it is real, and that is what GTA 6 WILL be. I mean, I see reasons as to why it could be real.

 

I believe GTA 6 will have a dedicated theme, like GTA V did with heists. I think GTA 6 could be built around building your own criminal enterprise, or empire. What they've done over the years with GTA Online shows they like that stuff, but more importantly, the players like it. And what better location to set it than Miami and Cuba? Rockstar have gone on record in saying they'd love to go back to Vice City, that doesn't mean much, but it just means it's possible. GTA V had Trevor smuggling into Mexico, just not directly. It was implied, or the direction he would venture into. His smuggling missions for McKenzie field was part of that. Imagine GTA 6 would massively expand on that. The Project Americas leak originated from RoosterTeeth. And while fishy, I've been following them since 2006. They aren't the type to fake that, and I don't think they'd report on information they got randomly without believing their source. Although don't take that as fact. People change and GTA is a topic that gets clicks...But, that's where it originated. And I believe all other instances of it are just piggybacking onto it, using it as fake credibility.

 

Again. I'm not saying I believe it 100%, and that I think it will happen. When looking at leaks, I just categorize that one as "Possible" or "Believable". And like I explained, it's something I think Rockstar would like to do.

Having said that kinda get the feeling the know would have been in trouble with take two over that if it was 100 percent legit rockstar went after take trusted reviews magazine for leaking rdr 2 info

Take Two probably wanted it out there if it ends up being true. Like the RDR2 map leak which they did nothing about.

 

It could also be fake so they don't really care.

The map leak was just a map leak. This is a leak in several forms, like the story, the main playable characters, and the locations of the game. It has more contents to it than RDR2’s map.

 

”Project Americas” has been floating around for years now.
