No he didn't say it's a new engine then say it's RAGE,he said he has seen some people say that it's a new engine then he said after that it's still using RAGE,he's just sharing what he has heard but he denied that by saying it's still using RAGE.

I still wouldn't be so sure. The only reason we think Vice City is because of the know. Which then spawned multiple fake leaks saying it's Vice City. Even this one could just be a low key fake, trying to be smart.

Even though you are correct, I realized I did not express myself properly. What I meant is that the leak - if true - would only confirm a Vice City setting, and nothing else.

It's not really a "leak" this guy didn't make a topic or ask me to share it,simply two guys having a chat and i thought to share it because of the fake sh*tstorm of fake leaks talking about how VI is going to be in LV and SF or LV SF and LS,i mean I'll need a whole page just to mention the fake stuff we've seen,he could easily make a load of things from his imagination just like the fakers do on Reddit and he isn't playing low key or trying to be smart since he's not talking about it openly,so there's really no point for him to act smart since he's not talking to anyone where people will give him likes/karma and ask him questions feeling all mighty just like the fake kids do on Reddit.

 

Yes this is simply as a confirmation that it will be Vice City.

Doing as you speak in the mouth of another is also a good excuse to invent, saying that it is going to be located in Vice City is something we can all say, it is the place that we would all bet at 80%

The know was probably only about 50% right or even less. South America and Project America's sounds like a bullsh*t.

That's the thing though. Never try to understand a faker. They're not all the same. Some want to troll people, others just want to see if they can make people believe them. There isn't always a 'logical' reason why they do what they do. So it's not worth trying to understand why. Like I said, this would be the perfect fake leak, as it doesn't do anything to get people excited. It's simplicity is what sells it. 

 

I'm just saying it's possible it's fake, and its also possible it's real. And not to be naive and think that just because it isn't very exciting it must be real. Any one of us could make a new account and say something really simple and boring, and say you can't reveal any details besides one small thing.

If they do indeed do Vice City, then South America could be featured. Miami and Cuba could make a great link, similar to the US and Mexico in RDR1. I think the South America part (if real) may have been misunderstood or exaggerated. Cuba is part of North America, but would have a South American feel, in contrast to Vice City, perhaps.

I made this map in August. it's heavily inspired by GTA V map. i was planing on laying out all the roads and features in incscape or blender just for the heck of it but I kind of lost interest for now. that's how I imagine Project Americas could look like. except that Cuba should be less narrow to give more room for a Havana based city and some small towns maybe based off of Guantanamo. there should also be another city or a town in the northern part of the map, because right now it feels too empty. I was also trying to figure out what the map would look like if instead of VC there was SF and LV but trying to place LV on an island and make it believable is kinda hard so I gave up for now

Well this latest leak is a nothing burger isnt it? Its something anyone could have said and when you word it in a "techy" way it sounds legitimate.Maybe the guy really was a ex R* dev but its hard to put trust on something that doesnt give you anything new.

Thats why im really hoping for a 2 time period piece. 80s and modern day. I would like to see what rockstar can do with that, can you guys just imagine how the empire building can work. 80s miami money laundering into the real estate

The only one I can think of that comes close is the lowrider update. But even then, lowriders existed in the 80's...

Many of the GTA Online updates feel like they'd fit perhaps even better in the 80's. For example cunning stunts, arena wars and doomsday heists feel like they were inspired from 80's movies or entertainment.

Sounds exciting but it would require ton of work to make it properly: radio and so on.

But is it possible? Maybe a 30-40 year jump in the storyline. I remember someone stating they would have to practically build everything twice

Yeah, it'd be a pretty massive undertaking. I think just the NPC dialogue alone would be a killer.

It’s possible and Rockstar would most likely be the only studio capable and crazy enough to attempt it.  They toyed with this idea in RDR2 and if that’s any clue, we can expect Rockstar to push their ideas to the next level with every new game. 

Another thing is that Rockstar intends to make games that players will play for a very long time. GTAVI May be the gta we play for 10 years before another is made. I can see them taking the time to make a very big game upfront that they can build upon for many years.

Driver: Parallel Lines is an example of a game that did the two timelines idea if anyone wants to check it out. You start off in the 70s and then progress to the early 2000s. 

 

Ofc with a GTA game it’d be a huge undertaking to do something similar. As much as I’d like a period piece it doesn’t seem likely apart from maybe a small role during the story line. It’s safe to say that the game’s definitely going to be set in modern times for GTA O at the very least. 

 

Or they pull a “San Junipero” from Black Mirror and feature both the period piece and modern day worlds to play with  though probably not in Online.

I think the easiest way to fulfill this would be to include flashback missions as they would only have to modify a small layout/building.
