at this point i can't really blame anyone for wanting to believe those leaks. it's been 6 years and it looks like we're gonna have to wait at least another year for the announcement alone. we're slowly approaching Duke Nukem Forever territory

There've been some real nice responses, and I'll go through them, but the counterargument of whether or not he worked at India is great, and something my friend and I hadn't even thought of. So we wanted to get more evidence than hearsay from his supposed cousin.
Rockstar does have an India office, but it doesn't seem to be very old. My friend mentioned that one of the previous leaks also came from a modeler from there (The one who listed VI vehicle modeling on his resume/profile, then later removed it). I couldn't find the link to it, but I think he will have it when he gets on.

According to this, Rockstar does have a Bangalore office, where the original photographer and faker supposedly worked, but it still seems odd that they would have so many leaks within a year, it doesn't make sense. Why now? In the same description Rockstar recently bought out a modeling company, also in Bangalore.

Being acquired by Rockstar so early in 2019, it seems the most logical that leaks would come from an office that hadn't yet been exposed to the Rockstar level of secrecy. When going to their website, it directly mentions this, and also has "See Openings". With this, it takes you directly to Rockstar's website to see a list of positions available at Rockstar India. One of the very things that the cousin said the faker worked as, and was doing, is currently an available position. "Character Rigger", right under Art section.

There was a post that mapped the locations his cousin said he currently worked at that got deleted, I'm not going to do it again for privacy, just trying to prove or disprove it logically. Given he supposedly worked at Rockstar (still completely unconfirmed), and also has moved onto another localized company, I would say that there is a good enough chance for it to be real. It really just depends what one thinks, but whatever you believe, there is enough evidence to make a very logical decision about it. It's not as concrete as the historical things in the runway, but at least it's more than secondhand accusations.

 

I just got through the rest of the thread, if "Youallknowme" was the one who faked them, it'd be nice to have more insight than what we have now. I'll go through the responses now

JamesG- I agree with everything you have said, there's a very good chance it's not real, especially with the recent drama it only gets the more confusing. The bright green icon was something that I noticed, too, and hope they get the UIs right if it's set in the past. Loved Mafia 1-2, the atmosphere and interfaces were great throughout the whole game, but 3 got the most generic looking UI possible. Was one of the biggest detractors for me, amongst everything else.

Youallknowme- if you're the one who made it, why was there such a drastic difference between this and your other works? Did you get help from someone who had a lot of knowledge on the US and design history? These are things that most Americans don't even know or are aware of, seems very odd that you would know them so well. If you faked it, it would be neat to have some kind of backstory into the hows, because it's more sophisticated and advanced than any other forgeries that have been on here. I doubt you'll respond, but it would be interesting to have something more than what we have, given it seems the cat is already out of the bag. Responding to JamesG and the hint, are you confirming that this is a fake, and that the game will be set in the past as he described?

bashovski- That's a fair point, I don't know a lot about runways and airplanes, I just do history. That makes sense, but the green outline given in the infographic was just our fair guess. Could be farther away or not, not that would affect it based on what you just said. However, given the case, wouldn't the same height buildings on the other end of the runway (Opposite of the ocean, where it merges into the city) not be correct, either?

It could be a taxiway and not a runway. A taxiway wouldn't have light poles on it though.

The whole image is a mess. The radar shows it being a runway, but it doesn't match the tarmac.

Look at the plains rudder. Why does it look like a separate part of the tail fin? It's not flush with the edge of the fin, it almost looks like a toy

The plain itself bares no resemblance to a common 737 or anything fram GTA IV or V It looks like it's been squashed flat, and it's wingspan is unnaturally long.

The end of a runway is meant to be clear. Instead there is a building/some kind of structure there.

 

It's fake. And it is clearly fake. But people are so desperate, they want to believe it so hard. So trolls like these won't go away, and people will keep on believing them.

Thank you very much, that's very kind- I plan to stay around a while, and I figured this would be as good way as any to get onto the forums. My friend wanted me to join, we both are very knowledgeable about history/design, and thought it would be good to put the skills to use. We had been discussing the leaks and fakes amongst ourselves, thought it would be better if everyone could benefit from the information.

 

Len Lfc- I'm not sure if the troll comment is directed towards me, I don't know of anything I have done that makes me a troll. I think everything else you had to say was solid and very logical. I addressed some of the things you said in the original post I made (light placement and logos above the hangars), but the other things I don't have any kind of rebuttal to. As I have said before, I am not very experienced in knowledge of aeronautical things, but yours would be very useful in debunking this with hard evidence. In your own opinion, which plane most resembles the larger airliners? I don't know as much as you do about them, but when we were looking for similar planes to the ones in the pictures, the most likely ones we found were the 737s- although, as you have said, the actual cabin size is "thicker". As far as the rudder being separate, which one in particular? All of them? It seems that the stripes they used then would often continue upwards, and follow the contour of the fin and rudder. This might make it look as though it's a separate object, but I really don't know.

The wingspan and turbine placement are totally different than the plane in the "leak", as you already said. If you know what kind of plane it most resembles, it's likely that they wouldn't have taken the time to model new planes and texture them with vintage versions of the lore graphics. Not saying it couldn't have been done, but as with the other fakes, things have usually been done as quickly and lazily as possible. The things like the lights on the runway, upside down textures, and building placement are all lazy mistakes. I see them using whatever resource model they can get their hands on. But then, why texture them with graphics different from the previous two series, and in a vintage style, at that? Wouldn't they want to get the most visible logos right, so people can bite onto the vintage aesthetic? Before my friend and I said anything about it, no one had pointed out the graphics on the planes. Others might have noticed, but no one had said anything yet. It still seems like something that a lot of time was placed into, that very few would even bother enough to notice. Thanks for all the replies

What I have gathered from this saga is that the "leaker" is supposedly a disgruntled former employee of Rockstar India who created some fake leaks in an attempt to hint at something to do with GTA VI.

It seems odd that he would fake leaks when he could have leaked something real, although I suppose in a way he did leak some sort of hint if what he says is true. Even as he acknowledged that the leaks were fake he still maintains that he used to work for Rockstar, and was trying to hint at something. If I had to guess, and assuming he did work for Rockstar, I think the hint is the setting of Vice City.

Tinhead isn't related to the leaker, I know him. It should be obvious in the postings of the two as well. The leaker's numerous accounts all post in run on sentences using broken English, and make various claims about himself. Tinhead writes with proper English and grammar and discusses the historical accuracy of the contents in the airport picture assuming it's meant to be set in the past.

Anyways, if GTA VI is set in Vice City, I can just imagine the real estate and the view from the apartment building(s) and/or mansion(s). 

And not only that, they would definitely expand the map and try to 1-up GTA V. Whatever will come will excite me anyways. : )

Also since they test features in GTA V that would most likely port over to GTA VI, interior decorating would be a nice addition for a nice personalized homey feeling.

This topic should now be renamed to "GTA 6 Fake Leaks, Fake Hints and Fake Speculation Topic" since lets just forget about leaks that actually seem to be a leak and focus on some dude that uses real life pictures and mockups as a "leak",a real leaker would actually post a real in-game image if he had any or simply write about what he knows instead of making sh*t up like using real life pictures and mockups that he did himself, lying to the people telling them this is a "debug dev image" "my dev friend allowed me to grab a few shots for the early build of VI" "more screens to come!!!" this is just lame as it gets.

Only place? There are also San Fierro and Las Venturas. Vice City has as much of a chance to be re-visited as any other city, old or new. Leaks can be written or fabricated by anyone, so they do not mean anything until proven otherwise. I'd actually find it odd that R* would choose Vice City next time as it shares some of the atmosphere and landscape with Los Santos, from the beach life, celebrities, hot/warm weather to palm trees and sunny views. It's one reason why I think that Vice City has less of chance to be next compared to the other settings. My gut tells me that there will be new cities next time, and maybe combined with established cities like Fierro or even Vice. However, palms trees and warm beaches won't be the central image again.

I hope all the leaks/speculation about vice city/south america is completely wrong. I'd love to see modern day Chicago; The entire west coast, state of Texas or just one large metropolitan city.

Well, gta san andreas and vice city were quite different! Even though it was three cities, Los Santos didnt remind us of Vice City at all, it focused on the gangs. Gta V is about the corrupt government and FBI dirty work, Vice City wont necessarily feel the same...
