I'm talking about the ones who bitch and complain when someone kills them or when they lose an adversary mode. Interestingly enough, most of them who act like that are not the kids, but adults who should be mature enough to know that this is only a game.

Well, i guess some people need other hobbies without them actually knowing it themselves ?

edit: Really, this is quite the ancient question :p

Adults are the worst offenders. GTA Freemode - you will pvp or you will get f*cked by it. Or play in passive mode forever and dont do adversary modes.

Maybe because people choose this game as a way to relax and escape the already messed up reality we call life :p

Last thing I'd want while I'm watching a movie or enjoying a nice day on the beach to fulfill the same purpose is for someone to punch me in the face or kick me in the nuts while I'm enjoying said thing :p

They're some of the best to continually strafe at with a Jet. Honestly though being on both ends of the spectrum(griefing and being griefed), I don't understand how one can take any of these actions to heart. Welcome to this cesspool called Freemode.

Granted you can't go on passive mode in real life, but that option is available in GTAO, They can even go to an invite only lobby. We all know that public lobbies are a warzone :)

Same applies to this forum. Every complaint is met with "Well they do it to sell shark cards" If you honestly think that why are you still here? Find another game or game developer if you are so salty towards Rockstar. Plus we get topics like "Does this game contribute to your mental illness" Man if you even have to ask that then the answer is yes. I play this game to chill, which is why I don't pvp much and have been known to drive around the map following traffic lights and doing the speed limit from time to time. I like contact missions for the co-op aspect and I rather work with people than against them.

You live the peaceful life. I am on the opposite side. Pvp calms me down.

well if you attack a player for no reason while they are just minding their buisness can you blame them for being upset? so many times i am just driving and i get shot at. it is very annoying. today i had just joined a session. i got on my bike and started driving. all of a sudden this guy starts shooting at me. so i blew him up with a sticky bomb. then he texts me saying i had to spend 14k because i destroyed his car. i said i dont care. then i asked why he attacked me. he said he was bored. i just laughed. there is so many more things to do in gta than attacking random players. now if people complain because they lose well then they are a sore loser. today i was playing the new adversary mode with my crew. we won and then one of the other players started insulting my friend and our crew. saying our crew sucks even though we beat him. and wanting to 1v1 him. so we got in a huge battle in free mode.

Up until today I was a live and let live kind of guy. You just do your thing and I'll be here running sh*t over with my Marshall.

Then I read the whole "Do you destroy shipments" thread. And the whole "Stop rewarding griefers" thread, and all of the "B&M" thread.

So now I've decided to become the biggest griefer of all. The one that unites all the other griefers into one gigantic Grief Army.

Stop laughing I'm being serious.

I am going to cause so much hate and discontent that these grown adults who cry themselves to sleep at night over a video game will either stroke right out or realize how stupid they're acting. Either way is a win for me.

I encourage any like minded players to do the same. Log in, get a pack of rowdy 12 year olds with jets to rally to your cause and grief the living sh*t out of anyone who even thinks about moving a shipment.

After profiling thousands of GTAO players over a 3 year period. I've come to the conclusion, based on fact. Bad people like to be nice in online roleplaying games. Sometimes it's predatory but it's mostly bad people trying to justify real life actions. Like armed robbery etc.

In regards to actual jobs, like adversary modes, races, deathmatches, and the like, yeah... I don't get why people get so bent out of shape. You're going to have another chance at the next job selection screen to win.

In this case, way much more so than in free mode, it really is just a game. If someone rams me very obviously in a race, I ram them back or pit them near the finish, or kick them if I am host, etc. If someone owns me in a deathmatch, good job. If someone goes off radar during LTS, I call him a dirty bastard under my breath, but oh well.

In free mode, however, if you attack supplies or a cargo shipment unprovoked:

Bounty, mug, kick, kill, mercenaries, off radar, ghost organization, APC, Oppressor, jet, message everyone in session asking to kick the guy, passive mode grief (only if he is a suicide-spamming coward --- suiciders are the worst people of all in GTAO), message grief, harass and destroy until he leaves, and I also report him. He will not be able to focus on anything other than me until he leaves or I get bored and need to go eat food or go to sleep.

But with jobs.... yeah, these people need to get over it. There is almost nothing stressful about playing jobs in my opinion. It's free mode that can make people wig out understandably.

Freemode is just a game too. It all is. This thread is aimed at players like you. By all means chase me around the map after I blow up your shipment. That's the point where I win. Because it goes from me griefing you, to you griefing yourself.

Vote to kick? Report? Hammer down, I say. Since at that point I've already won. And the next session awaits.

Whatever man. Once me and the 10 other friends in the session have booted you, we have the session free and clear of losers, and we can get what we want to get done. It's quicker to harass and kick you than to find another session.

Believe what you want, but we win when we make you leave.

And the money is irrelevant. It brings me great satisfaction to do what I outlined above.

OP's signature says "I can be a very nice player online or I can be a bitch! It all depends on how you play with me"

That kind of answers the question, doesn't it? If others act like scumbags, you'll do the same and you should expect some other players to be just like that as well

The last time people were harping on about people taking the game too seriously, it wasn't in the context of people getting angry after dying, but people discussing how to make the game balanced; discussing what they see as problems, etc.

The former - yeah, shut that down. Grief, grief, grief. The latter - eh, people can discuss the game just as much as they want.

When GTA V launched - while plenty of other old games companies were f*cking up their games, Rockstar hadn't. In fact, they'd managed to bring back a lot of the fun stuff that had been cut out of GTA IV. Planes, tanks, etc. Then all the good stuff gets butchered to cater to people who are probably too young to be playing the game anyway.

In short, when you've got a gem among a sea of sh*t, and then the company turns around and drowns that gem in the sh*t, I'll take it fairly seriously. I don't know why anyone would've signed up to a forum about the game if they didn't want to discuss it.

If this thread really is just about those who b*tch when they're killed though - yeah, that's just people who need to relax lol.

Then life is just a game, too...

You posting you win after someone chases you because you destroyed someone's shipment means C* won their game, ouside of their created game .

Please buy yourself a sticker for blowing up someone's shipment, really.

Wherether you did it because of you, or because of C*, you followed their orders at the end. You might have won your game, but not their game, and not THE game.

What do you expect to happen by reporting him? Do you message them with this:-

"Hey Rockstar dudes, this cash and RP reward you're offering for blowing up our cargo? Well somebody took you up on that man and despite our best efforts to repel or kick the guy, he's still here. We're all really upset so you need to come and sort it out, because I'm getting stressed here!"

funny, I don't whine and complain over the mic when someone kills me. Unlike one player today who kept complaining because he was getting killed in an adversary mode.

You'd only be prolonging your suffering. If you need a load of friends, you're probably not up to taking down a well-practised griefer.

Best just do cargo work in private, rather than in full sessions/warzones. Kind of asking for trouble to be honest.

Hmm So you're going to report someone who attacked your supply or sell mission when you didn't provoke the other player? I take it you don't see the message that pops up during supply or sell mission that says you get money or RP if you can destroy it? Do you seriously think Rockstar is going to ban someone who did that?

People should know if they start getting angry when they're killed, they're just feeding GTA Online's humble trolls. That includes myself sometimes lol - can't lie, watching someone lose their sh*t over dying once or twice on a game is fun.

Especially with this idea that if a vehicle can kill you more than you kill it, it's overpowered. Like, imagine if someone went and played Doom, then started b*tching about the Cyberdemon being overpowered? Like, it being more powerful than a standard player is the whole point. It's meant to be like a boss out of the old school games.

Within reason of course - it ceases to be fun if you can't do anything other than be killed 50 times in a row. But I like vehicles to be tough. Kind of the point of them to be honest.

I would say though that you shouldn't be able to make them appear next to you. In GTA V's older days that wasn't a thing.

Wait a minute, think I'm kind of rambling on and going off topic now.

I don't know about in general - but when it comes to helicopters, I personally would've thought most people would enjoy being killed by them.

For me, I kind of get off on it - which is part of why it's a shame it hardly happens. When it does though, it's like "Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Do it again!" I just wish it happened more often.

The funniest thing in freemode is to see a delivery convoy coming down the freeway, then getting in front of them in ghost and mining the road with a sticky bomb trap. You can get multiple vehicles this way with a huge traffic explosion whilst you stand away up the hill, and the MC or Organisation goes nuts ha ha

I've had people follow me for hours. I had one guy who got his crew to try and hassle me for an entire session.

I was happy in the fact that while I was sitting doing something else he and his crew were wasting their entire game trying to get me.

Some people are just naturally competitive; it's like asking why anyone takes anything seriously--some feel very passionate about gaming and will express their emotions a bit more vocally than others.

This isn't some phenomenon limited to this game or video games in particular; go and ask rabid sports fans why they get so upset when their team loses or why they get so excited when their team does well. Though it is just a game, it is something that many take seriously because it is an outlet to escape from the stresses of the real world.

I'd say that not playing against others using backhanded measures and not resorting to personal attacks are better signs of maturity. There's nothing wrong with complaining or being dissatisfied with your own performance or the nature of what happened as long as you aren't berating others and the like. There's a lot of grey area here and we all have our own ways of dealing with dissatisfaction and of course, the things we take or do not take seriously.
