Gaming Laptop - Opinions

Okay so here's the deal, I'm starting college this Fall and I'm interested in buying a gaming laptop since I'll be in a dorm and I wouldn't have enough space for a desktop PC. I've managed to save up some money working and I've checked the offer on laptops. What caught my eye was this beauty

DELL Inspiron 7567

Now regarding the model I'm getting it has specs as it follows:

- Intel i7 - 7700HQ

- Nvidia GeForce 1050Ti 4GB DDR5

- RAM: 16Gb DDR4

- 1 TB (HDD) + 128 (SSD)

- Power supply: Li-Ion battery 74Whr

That's the basic stuff, I've already checked up some reviews regarding the laptop and I've heard people say that's it's a fantastic mid range gaming laptop that only suffers in the display area, but I don't find that really a big issue. Now I'm asking if someone could please give me some thoughts on it or maybe suggest a better counterpart in close price range.

Well I'm interested in playing new titles (as well as a lot of old ones) and I don't really mind if I have to put Mid settings or such to get good performance. Also I saw that it holds pretty well with new titles such as Resident Evil 7 so I'm pretty happy with that

With a 1050 Ti you'll probably have to lower the settings in some games. The summer isn't over, if I were you I'd get something with a 1060 instead. They're not that much more expensive but there is a huge difference in performance.

I've thought of that, but the problem is that in my area laptops with a 1060 card cost a lot more so I have to settle with something a bit cheaper.

well if it needs to be laptop and that is what you can spend, then you already know its the only choice :sigh:

i personally wouldn't go with laptops for gaming just bcuz of upgradability, why not a micro-ITX if space is a problem?

Well there are quite a few laptops in the same price range as that Dell one so I was wondering if there is any better alternatives just to be sure. Also the laptop is mobile so I can take it to class and such. I'm really not familiar with micro-ITX so I don't know much about it

Taking something that weighs 2.75kgs and another 570g for the power adapter with you to school is going to absolutely suck, just saying. You're going to get tired of it before you know what happened.

What's your budget in USD?

Looking @ the specs of that device it looks good and like the others have said get the 1060 one.

I myself have an Republic Of Gaming laptop it was $1,500 and i love it but i'm looking to upgrade now as the graphic card is getting out of date it has a 980 GTX and it several years old

I was looking to getting an Acer Predator 17" i can get it for $299 a month which is what i can afford as the full price is $1,800

@MuntyJack I agree, always been a fan of DELL, already had two laptops (Currently DELL Inspiron 3552 which performance wise is bad, but it serves it's purpose)

@Hardstyle_93 Will definitely check it out, thanks for the suggestion

@AiraCobra Heard that ROG's are good but didn't really check them out so much
