This may be wrong place to ask but have anyone noticed that there are two different versions of Tropic boat in GTA Online? You can buy sh*tzu Tropic from DockTease but during sea races you can choose Buckingham Tropic which feels much faster and looks better than sh*tzu version. I'm just wondering why you can't buy Buckingham version anywhere.

@wizooord, that's a bug currently going on since Arena War.

Basically, if you have more than 125 unlocked shirts, you won't be able to see all of the ones you have on "Brands" because all shirts were mixed up in there - including ones from other sections.

They're all still there and you can browse all the shirts you have that belong to other sections, but you'll have to wait until a new update for a chance for this to be fixed.

Oh that makes sense thank you but I can't remember what I had at the bottom before this week's shirts got released, rip x)

Need urgent help!

Me and my friends were going to play with one of their friends that we haven’t met before. They’re rank 3, and we want to hire them to our MC’s, but they don’t show up in the list? What are we doing wrong?

Is it because of some setting or does she have to finish a particular mission or anything to be able to join an MC? None of us has ever seen this happen before...

All fixed?

My suggestion would have been just that, or she had to do the LTS for Gerald to finish the tutorial.

I think the survival at rank 17/18 is another 'must do' moment too.

You have me beat slightly. I've completed 3 finales and 11 setups.

It's interesting seeing total numbers. I have 416 LTS won on my guy character and probably close to that on my girl too. Is there anyway to see how many I have played? I know I have lost a lot of LTS between both my characters including losses I've probably done close to 2k LTS.

Lol, just a couple more. 🤣

Unfortunately I'm unsure about the LTS stats, and DM ones, as they also include the arena modes too. I've only played about 40-50 DM's and probably the same or a few more in LTS, but my stats say something like 200 wins/200-odd losses.

Last three weeks I have only played Online 2 or maybe three times and my sessions were in the limits of one hour. Never thought that buying a wheel will turn me away from GTA that much, but it happened and I'm kind of okay with that. I'm glad to be the part of GTAF community and I like to talk with people here, but the game is getting colder for me, despite the breaks I took from it. When I want to chill I'm playing Mafia 3/ Horizon 4 (including ranked multiplayer that is now somewhat fixed), for more dedicated fun I'm running Dirt Rally 2.0 and Asseto Corsa Competizione, but going to try GT Sport at my mate to understand what is is better, but it's a shame Sony is lagging behind Microsoft with these outdated practices of exclusivity. I would have bought GT Sport in a blink on PC, but I'm sure as hell not going to buy the console to play the game when I have three powerful PCs at home.

Does anyone have issues with the sunny weather on 430.64 driver and discord overlay? In fixed time missions it's a nightmare, everything is getting too blurry spontaneously.

And speaking of the heist finale stats, is there a way to see how many contact missions I have played?

Unfortunately not, RE contact missions. The heists came with the awards to complete setups and finale's and it was just blind luck I hovered above one while looking about (as keen to see how many spins at the arena I had) and I noticed it was more than the 50 needed for that award.

Same for Forza with me. Aside games I enjoy that are on both consoles, Forza would be my only reason to ever pick up an Xbox, lol. Personally I prefer GT sport over Asetto Corsa, I just couldn't gel with the latter, but I am a long term GT nut too, lol. Enjoy trying though. All goid games. :)

I was gonna try Bully but watched a play through to start, really didn't appeal enough to me. But I'm wrapping up III/VC nicely, damn The Godfather trophy, then gonna revisit San An and get that casino vibe running right through me, and hope that when it arrives here, bingo! 😎👍

For now, I'm really enjoying forza over gt sport. They're different games, and you get into different mindsets however. Recently, gt sport updated their physics and rendered my GTR tunes worthless, so that kinda soured my relationship with sport.

I used to run with a bunch of people that would spend hours tuning and chatting, keeping meme cars out of the lobby. It was great, but we've kinda dried up since there haven't been any new cars to tweak. I tried competitive racing in sport, and I hate competition. I got my driver rating to B and walked away.

This is mind blowing:

A proper FOV for first person driving, manual transmission and steering wheel support.

And for once, the gauges aren't obstructed by the steering wheel

It makes me want to go and buy a gaming PC + steering wheel.

When it comes to online racing, 100%. But GT is a stunning game and good for a drive in single player  or in friend lobbies or livery editor of course. :)

Not even sure what my rating is in Sport 😂 game feels slow to me and felt you had to start breaking way to early. And the punishment system is/was way to broken. People could push me right off the track without getting punished, sometimes people pushed me in to others and I was punished but not the person pushing me..

Gonna make quick mention to this and write my own thoughts because the exact same thing is happening to me, and I don't consider this as a "bitch 'n' moan" but more as legit sadness to see something I enjoyed playing daily for more than three years slowly slipping through my fingers. I just can't bring myself to endure 15 to 20 minutes of waiting for the game to load every time only to be bored half an hour in of playtime.

After Hours' "could be but failed" and Arena War's offensive progression system and exclusive reliance on randoms might have just killed the game or, in the best of scenarios, put it on an indefinite coma on GTAO for me. Try as I might, I'm not that excited towards the upcoming rumoured Casino update because of both the obnoxiously large time between it and AW and because I sort of expect Rockstar to royally f*ck it up the same way they did with all of 2018's updates, all for different reasons.

New vehicles with those god damned flags that SSASSS introduced, under-developed premise like After Hours and probably a new way to slave at it similar to Arena War's AP currency and skill levels. It's hard to be as enthused as before with these possibilities in mind and I kept a level head through 2017's roster.

Besides that, I see less and less of the regulars I enjoyed reading from even when I was just a lurker on these parts, only a very small handful remaining - which in turn makes the place less fun to keep up with.

It definitely isn't looking up right now.

---

On another note, however, I've been playing other games and finally experiencing things I've been missing since I started playing GTAO exclusively - either by revising old favourites like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and NFS: Hot Pursuit (2010) or playing things I had skipped entirely and being pleasantly surprised by them, like Life Is Strange.

Besides which, I gave my own physical health a complete 180º and am now closing in at great speed in achieving some old dreams I had for god knows how long. Definitely, not everything is negative outside of GTAO.

Having said that, and since we were talking stats before, 2010's remake of Hot Pursuit has this very interesting stat which tells you the distance you have driven with any specific vehicle you choose. Now that's an interesting thing to have in GTAO, as I'd like to know for how far I have taken some vehicles for a spin compared to others! :D

A lot of OG are hanging around in the off-topic section, considering that any GTA will eventually dry out and the interest to community remains. But I feel you, I was more glued to the Online section over the time too.

As far as I can remember, the drive is easy to replace on 360 and it's relatively cheap. Also a nice excuse to clean the poor thing and change the paste in it. If you're into old games and have a collection, why not. I think you will be able to do it yourself too.

Yessir, tearing up modern-ish electronics is relatively easy nowadays thanks to ifixit, YouTube and whatnot.

Its just that I gave up on the ole 360 after the new drive went bad and moved to the X1.

All these things will get you a lot of enjoyment... elsewhere! First of all, the enjoyment of using a wheel while gaming depends heavily on two factors: your IRL driving experience and the way your wheel is supported in the game you are playing. Nowadays there are great wheels available with variety of shapes and mechanics inside them, but the core principle of how they work is extremely different from the principle of IRL car steering, and that is where the thing called 'force feefback' comes in. To put it simple, it's a digital-analogue interface that simulates the feelings you may express while driving a car IRL, starting from the game engine and ending at your wheel. This way, no matter how good your wheel is, the first bottleneck you will encounter is the game one, represented in the way the developers have coded the force feedback to behave. What does it mean? It means that the game sends information to your wheel that helps you interpret things like speed, bumps, car wheel position, acceleration/ deceleration and grip level. The more these things are developed in the game, the more direct and less saturated the input in the game is, the better your feedback should be, at least in theory. If the input is too filtered, for example, you won't feel comfortable no matter how good your racing wheel is, there are games that will not benefit from $2k Fanatec setup and you will express the same level of feedback as you can on the 10 years old out of the counter Thrustmaster for $100. GTA is very, very close to these games, the game was never meant to be played with a wheel and the feelings you are going to express are extremely basic. There are supposedly car oriented games that are bad with force feedback, the most recent and the most notorious is the Forza Horizon 4. Feedback is so bad that I really prefer to play the thing on the controller and looking at the Granda driving videos where he's competitive on the keyboard speaks volumes of how the game was designed.

Now let's touch your personal experience of driving IRL. I have a hypothesis, that the more experience you have IRL the more you may expect from a game and chances are, the more you are going to be disappointed, because there are few games on the market that can deliver something relatively close to the stuff you experience IRL. I have extensive kart racing experience (although I was always amateur-ish), started when I was around 8 and quit around the age of 17 after successfully doing some tests for junior rally racing team, which I have later abandoned because I was not fast enough to be competitive on the level where my results could have been good enough to make it my job (the health and risk factors were also in play, considering that driving beyond your limit constantly pushes you more and more from the safe zone and establishing the new safe zone requires a lot of efforts from the physical to cognitive).  At the age of 18 I've decided that I'm going to rather study and occasionally have fun on the track.

Long story short: your mileage will vary with the wheel experience. There is nothing bad if you play Horizon 4 or even F7M on the controller while being experienced driver if you're having fun. If your definition of fun is working on the splits shaving off tenths of seconds, rFactor delivers, but you are going to need a wheel with pedals and your approach will be different too: no phone conversations while driving, no laptop connected to the TV with controller  while you're visiting in laws and casually snacking or listening to your favourite podcasts. Dirt Rally 2.0 is the closest* experience I ever had to the driving Lancer Evos IRL after Richard Burns Rally which is ancient and I may actually be mistaken.

The actual reason I have bought the wheel so late was that I knew I'm going to spend more time playing stuff less casual after I'll get it. That's exactly what happened, be advised. And I have officially spent my breakfast news time on typing this stuff, but I regret nothing.

____

* Still seriously off though and sometimes steering feels like you're driving a Lada from the 60s (you need to fight with the wheel which is ridiculous plus the overall steering ratio is off), but I was more talking about gravel grip and power transfer, it's fun and close.
