must say that i'm suprised about the lack of jetpacks in public lobbies.

 

if there are special vehicles in the lobby then it's mostly deluxo's and avengers now.

It's because the Jetpack isn't a OP piece of crap

 

Therefore, nobody cares about it. Sad, considering it's THE most hyped and requested vehicle in the game.

 

I use it, though. It's essentially a mini Buzzard that's a Personal Vehicle and doesn't require you to be a CEO and doesn't despawn when switching sessions.

I'm waiting on a sale to buy mine, same with the Stromberg.

I just bought the Deluxo, Khanjali, and Akula for full price since I knew I'd use them. Haven't used the Khanjali as much as the other two

It's because it is an overhyped nostalgia driven additon. Also, it looks dumb. It's not really a jetpack, more like a jetpack looking vehicle. Way too big. Too clunky to use effectively. The legs on the bottom look stupid too.

 

 

They could have done it much better imo. Lose the weapons. Make it smaller (like the original) and more manuverable.

Yeah - the big problem with the Thruster (IMO) is that it's basically a vehicle, and not something that you wear. You can't run around, take off, fly around, land, etc. - ideally, it should be something that is to regular parachutes what the Deluxo is to the Ruiner 2000 (i.e., one can just bring you back down to earth, but the other can get you flying around in the first place).

Right down to it not being proper 'flying', exactly - you just shoot up in the air, move in an arc based on the direction you want to go, then use the jets to help you land gently (rather than just dropping out of the sky... ).

^Exactly I agree. It is a vehicle, instead of something you wear. That is it's downfall.

Easy solution would be to remodel a parachute backpack with small thrusters, add a noise to it and use the yellow bar at the bottom of the map (like some special vehicles have or SP special abilities) and it has a recharge rate. Boosts of the jetpack to reach building tops could make combat interesting.

Kind of like boba fett/jet pack troopers in star wars battlefront 2. I think I would buy it than, I think it looks kind of stupid in this game just a big setting duck.

Yesterday/Today's game time has been a real eye opener. You find out someone's true colors when you lose an ex PSN friend due to a lost they had against you in a one on one match. So he decided to put a bounty on me and then tried to jump me which didn't work out well for him and his followers. It gotten so sad that they had to try to find my IP Address. Sad and cruel people I tell you. The rest was good after it since I got to do some vip work.

At first we formed the K-DST Gang to grind Lester's missions but we were a group of 5 so we had to improvise. Starting off with a limo ride to the airport for a Luxor Deluxe, we took it to LTS matches where we formed Team Mute (Amy, Irish, and me) and Team Declasse (Classique and Verbose), in a non-explosive dogfight with some intense flying in circles tactics. Alas, the game hated us all, and completely messed up the teams - Verbose was now part of Team Mute and Amy was now part of Team Declasse - in the next LTS where Savage helicopters went up against on-foot soldiers with Homing Launchers and a Technical. Then we had a pirate-styled LTS involving throwing molotovs and grenades where I was fighting Classique with knives underwater and won (lol scuba suit won't save you).

Back in freemode, we have witnessed a suspicious increase in private jetpack ownership. Nobody cares about that, though, we have better news to tell: we've managed to patent a new kind of ballistic missile; all you need is a jetpack with JATO boost or whatever that thing is and Amy.

. By that time the K-DST Gang has dissolved, almost everyone was back in their normal outfits.

Later that day Amy has shown us her Dune. We loved it so much that we decided to get some Dunes too, copying every detail down to even the exact registration (you know, accurate replicas and all). I have personally also bought a facility full of pink Elegy RH8's. There is no reason to suspect anything, I just like my pink Elegies (I'm also the same guy who bought 7 Coquettes for the office garage when Import/Export released).

Anyway, we formed the Dune Owners' Club and had our very first meet. Classique has joined us with his lime green Dune, or Lime Brick as he calls it, after making a spectacular Avenger landing that surprisingly did not end in a fireball, while the rest of us had the orange Dunes, or The-best-Dune-I-have-ever-seen. We took a few photos and then had a Drag race on the Sandy Shores Airfield to end the meet. The drag race had me and Amy in Classique's lime brick, and Irish and Classique in Irish's (I think?) 100% legitimate Amy Dune replica. Me an Amy won, of course, with the power of lime green clown horn obnoxiousness. The finish was spectacular, too, a Sprunk Mallard acted as a parachute we were going that fast.

Can't help but notice that the Dune is so weird. It has no rear plate, yet has a front plate. And it tips over so easily. I could drive this thing onto a curb and end up on my sides. I also won a top speed challenge a week or two ago in the lime green Dune LOL. The acceleration is just ridiculous.

And if anyone is looking for some fun while in an Organization or a Motorcycle Club, get the Thruster jetpack with JATO boost things. Seriosuly, lol. If you think that sending people to orbit with the helicopter rotors is fun, then sending people to orbit with the Thruster will be even more fun. And destructive. Do not point at vehicles

By the way, I don't own a Thruster just yet, but I DID log in on the day when the liveries were gifted and even got the popup that I've unlocked them. If I purchase the Thruster now, will I be able to apply the liveries? All I care about is the galaxy livery lol.

It's not a Rocket Belt like the the one in San Andreas and the classic Bell design

 

 

 

Despite what players wanted, Rockstar took a rare whim of realism & limitations-of-physics in the design and made an almost logical vehicle with some endurance.

The longest flight (because of fuel capacity) of any design of rocket belt is about 48 seconds (though a tethered one flew just over a minute), while a jet pack with jet turbine engines or ducted-fan props could fly for 6-10 minutes before running out of fuel.

I got back into being a all around player online when it comes to collecting stuff in business. I started doing Smuggler's Run crate collections and I am at 18 now completed which grants me some trade in prices for the planes. As well as getting back into doing Import and Export work too which is breeze. What I do is doing a simple head hunter CEO Mission to gain money back for the damages on the car collecting stuff. It was rare to get a empty lobby to myself. Great 5 hours.
