Arrows to Athens

I get demon dragged by an NPC into pedestrians who then backflip out of their death.

This game can be weird sometimes.

I've been noticing a lot of weirdness with the vehicle AI too for some reason, trucks doing stuff like that and so on, and I'm on PC, not the current-gen console version. 🤔

Meanwhile, just signed up for an Amazon Prime trial so I can get 200k/week, I've been doing Cayo, Diamond, MC contracts/work this week, payphone hits, and so on but one can never earn too much money :sadkek: Never been this rich in GTA Online, at about 37M, even though I know that's pennies for most people on this forum lol.

It's a good month for it, The Boys season 3 is why I'll be subbing... just a week or two later cause I only wanna sub for a month lol

The game often act weird with multiple players, all those annoying bugs during the Cayo Perico Heist finale, I never encountered any alone.

E&E being all about bug fixing and being successful at it would be protected from any B&M,down to the name.

That team is literally comprised of R* North devs, devs are the racers and R* officially sponsor it, it's really cool. They've had a cycling team for many, many years too (separate from the Red Hook Crit event).

Kinda want those helmets and gear now :sadkek:

Enjoyed a few minutes of "bad cops" chasing me round and round the casino main entrance and road outside.

The traffic in near misses free mode challenge was much harder with vehicles swerving to avoid crash into you and hiding behind the car in front before jumping out in front of you.

New,old or one off?

Maybe. The Half-track is the best counter, in my opinion. The front windows are bulletproof, so as long as you don't let them to get the side of you, you're practically immune. You can then try to shoot them out from the side windows.

I tested a bit of the agency, I smiled when I saw the one to save having bodyguards then it just vanished when I saw them running away.

I imagined myself saving the guy with a Valkyrie and have him and the bodyguards use the guns, basically playing with them by testing various weaponized vehicles.

Right now I had more fun with jobs from Agatha, the destruction of assets as a contract was restricted to interiors  while for Agatha it's outside.

And glory to hiding mechanics, the police didn't get the very visible patriot mil spec driving away from the area they surrounded.

EDIT : something must have changed with random invites, I never get any in invite-only lobbies but I start receiving some when it's public.

If that kind of BMW is ever featured in the game(and it f*cking should since the Oracle needs a new version), I bet it'd gonna have that livery as a option.

Had it happen with parked vehicles.

I do believe @Spider-Vice speculated it was vehicles spawning slightly inside each other, causing the explosion as a reaction.

The ignition bomb is cheaper and easier to use, as far as killing a lone player goes it's the same as the other.

But the taste of a multi kill car bomb must be wonderful, imagine with an insurgent pick-up custom (9 seats) .

I know this is going to be somewhat controversial here, but even though I think that pay-walls are a little scummy, at least the things that are paid content are really just mostly a lot of cosmetic stuff. At least the widgets that are exclusive to GTA +. I don't count things like a free Agency because you don't need GTA + to grind out the money for this. I know that these liveries in particular being GTA+ exclusives, are disappointing to some, but I also think that of all the pay-walls they can being in, this is pretty innocuous. I was a lot more disturbed by the week long vehicle exclusivity, because that could negatively impact the competition for multiplayer races. As unpopular as this is going to sound, if all Rockstar/Take2 ever limit is the cosmetic stuff, that in no way impacts competition between players, then I think it's fair game.

Am I disappointed, too? Yeah, but so what. I'll get over it. I don't feel cheated because Take2 wants to charge for what are essentially glorified skins. I won't be buying it, but that shouldn't stop their inclusion.

It the same stuff with CS skins...having them or not don't impact your gameplay. But people are for the looks. Imagine them to start to hide liveries from pop culture...at least the majority of cars that came already from the F&F franchise never went plussie route.

I am basically with you, to a point. I always thought if they wanted to monetize the game in a less sh*tty way, selling exclusive in-game shirts and liveries and stuff seemed reasonable to me. I realize the game costs a lot to maintain and they are, after all, a business, so by all means, sell players stuff that doesn't affect play (as long as the prices are kept reasonable). I am slightly less in favor of it considering all the OTHER ways they monetize the game, though. Seems like they should be past the point of needing to incentivize in that way. But if they're really going to start milking GTA+ and cosmetic goodies, then I hope that they will (while knowing full well they won't) re-balance a lot of the activities to pay more. Because the main way they monetized the game up until recently was just making it really hard to earn, while pricing everything as expensively as they felt they could get away with. Kinda don't need that AND cosmetic unlocks.

36 minutes ago, CaliMeatWagon said:

All game balance issues come down explosives.

They certainly create the vast majority of the problems. But I worry that this is not undoable at this point. Rockstar has only leaned further and further into it for the entire life of the game, and players have spent cumulative mountains of money and millions of hours unlocking and buying all the stupid mememobiles and explosive weaponry.

I look back on my days playing the first few Halo multiplayers with nostalgia. I don't know how the more recent iterations are, but back then, you started each map with just regular weapons and difficult-to-master grenades (only a couple of them, too). If there was a rocket launcher at all, it was just one in a neutral location, you had to fight to get it, and it only held a few shots. That design mentality is so different from Rockstar's, where it's like, "Balance? If we put more on top of the pile, everybody gets crushed under its weight--that's balance!" Granted, this is a very different kind of game from an arena shooter with timed matches, but Rockstar simply has not ever put much thought into the problem other than wondering how much more money they can make. Disheartening, to say the least.

To be fair the last few updates pay extremely well and made money making easier than before. 4 years ago payouts like we get now for an assassination or autoshop contract felt like an impossible dream.

No argument. With a Kosatka and Nightclub and maybe an Arcade you can make a mint without breaking a sweat. But I'm still waiting and wanting for them to re-balance damn near everything else, though. I see dudes all day long trying to run MC businesses, resupply their bunkers manually, buying and selling crates, sourcing air freight, etc. and I want to shake them: "Dude, are you crazy? That doesn't pay sh*t. Buy a sub and get rich!" I suspect a lot of lower level players just don't have much guidance and try to do whatever the game suggests for them to do, without realizing how completely out of whack the pay scales are.

So, nothing like the actual sky in Los Angeles.

An orangish glare with maybe a couple dozen of the  brighter stars peeking out, and the moon.

To be honest, I think that a lot of people are looking at this all wrong. I'm not saying you, but people may sort of pay lip-service to Rockstar and Take2 both being for-profit businesses, while also trying to say things like, "Enough is enough!" or even, "When do they stop monetizing?"

To be frank, the answer to both of those questions is essentially enough is never enough as long as the product you are marketing is one people are continuously willing to pay for. And pay, GTAO fans clearly do! Asking when a corporation should stop monetizing and stop finding more ways to squeeze their customers for more money is a lot like admonishing the shark to stop eating and swimming. The shark will will do both until it dies, and Take2 will continue to find new ways of monetizing GTAV's Online component until it dies, and finally makes way for GTA VI. It really is that simple.

The only say that I get, or anyone else not on their Board of Directors gets, in any of this is whether or not they get my money.

As to your other point, about offering more money-boosts and payout-buffs for stuff you and I won't get? I thought about it after reading your post, and the only thing I can say is, so what? I mean, if they want to make money-grinding a touch easier for GTA+ subscribers, what, precisely does that take away from you and me, or anyone else who wants to grind without the Vig they are charging for their monthly crapscription service? I mean, if I remember from our last nasty argument heated debate, you have about $500 Million in GTAO Funny Money, right? Or in the hundreds of millions, for sure. I have just a hair under $1.3 Billion, and neither of us needed their stupid subscription money-payout-buffs to get it.

Money is easy in this game. Far too easy for me to give one, tiny, little rat's @ss if someone wants to pay Rockstar some money and have it a little easier than me. I won't lie. I would say the same thing about this if I was just starting out. There is so much money to be made, so easily by just playing the game, what do I care if they boost it up for subscribers.

I say, if you really want the extra money, temporary exclusivity of vehicles or HSW upgrades for old ones, whatever skins, paint and livery they are hawking this week, then pay the damned $5 bucks and shut up. lol Me, I'm perfectly fine with what I can get from this game simply by the initial purchase, my monthly PSN subscription, and a little elbow grease.

By the way, BUNKER SALES RULE!! Just kidding. 🤣

As much as I hate to say it, they kind of have the right to do it. If they choose to lock all cosmetic upgrades, clothes, customizing, paint-jobs, or whatever behind pay-walls, it's their business. I hope they don't, and to be honest, I don't think they will. In all frankness, GTAO has sooooooooo many items that can be bought by simply owning and playing the game enough, including who knows how many hundreds of thousands of transient, customizing purchases, that the only reason anyone cares about the few that you need to purchase, is pretty much FOMO.

You know what? Keep your stupid livery. Keep your GTA+ exclusive clothes items. I won't get sucked into coveting them enough to purchase them with real money.

We're talking past each other here. You are taking the stance that they are a business and have the RIGHT to do what they want. I'm not arguing against that at all. Of course they can do whatever they want, legally; from a capitalistic standpoint I might even agree that they are highly incentivized to take maximum advantage of me and cheap out on improving their own game as often as possible. But as a consumer--a player of their game--my interest in their success as a business is minimal. I'm not an investor, it does little to nothing for me whether they make truckloads of cash or not. All I want is for the game I play to be as good and fun as possible, and my only interest in their success is in hoping they make enough profit to keep updating the game. That's it. So when you counter anything say with, "It's their game and they have the right..." or "They're a business, so..."--all I can do is shrug. You're not telling me anything I don't know. More importantly, you're not telling me anything that even remotely makes me rethink my stance. Everything I've said in here is an expression of what I want personally, and I could really give a sh*t if it costs them 10 or 50% of their profits.

2 hours ago, ChiroVette said:

You're wrong there. That's what forums, Reddit, social media, and support tickets are for: it's the other half of our say. You have options open to you other than buying/not buying. And I would encourage you to take advantage of them anytime you think a company (Rockstar or whoever) is making their product or service worse just to make a few extra bucks.

In the end, any business has to decide if they collectively give a damn about their product and the experience of their customers beyond the degree that is necessary to stay in business at all. There are many exemplars of this still in the games industry today. Rockstar, I would say, is no longer one of them. Not that GTA Online is a bad game in totality, but there are myriad ways it could be better, and the copious, from-day-1 monetization has generally eroded its quality, and yet they have largely just stayed the course. It is what it is, but please don't try to talk me into liking it.  :D

I think you're misunderstanding me here. I don't want them to provide GTA+ subscribers with payout boosts. I am a huge opponent of pay-to-win games and that's as pay-to-win as it gets. That kind of design poisons the entire experience for every participant, IMO. What I was saying was that they should go back to the older content (pre-casino heist) and boost payouts on it for ALL players, especially if they're going to put more and more effort into trying to milk GTA+. A lot of the design decisions in the first 5-6 years were based around trying to encourage all of us to buy shark cards; since then, they have given us better-paying content (like Cayo Perico) but also introduced GTA+, and I foresee them adding more and more to that in an attempt to create a reliable pool of recurring revenue. And that being the case, they should stop short-changing noobs who don't know better and are still running MC businesses for peanuts. I'm making a couple small leaps in logic there, but that was all I was saying about that. I am firmly AGAINST giving GTA+ in-game advantages, whether they would be weapons, weaponized vehicles, or payout boosts on activities that the rest of us don't get. (I feel less strongly about discounts and am completely indifferent to cosmetic items. And yes, a lot of hairs are being split here.)
