Is the Ruiner 2000 still a viable purchase in 2019? I already got an Oppressor MK2.

Thing's a flyswatter. If you have a Ruiner and an idiot mosquito bothers you and you don't want to waste 10K+ every time you kill him, just launch Fully Loaded and get in the special Ruiner that can withstand a sh*tton of missiles. They can't lock on to you either, AND you don't pay insurance for their witch vehicle. 3-in-one!

The only good thing about that car is the Fully Loaded version, said version can only used ONCE every hour, for only 20 minutes.

 

And most players nowadays knows that should avoid it.

 

On top of it all, the car drives horribly.

 

If you really want it, it's better to first unlock the trade price and then wait for a better discount

Nothing in the game goes that fast. There is no need for the game to be able to handle it.

Had something new happen last night.

 

Had a bounty, but was in a quiet server and couldn't see anyone close by, so I took my dusty Stromberg through a car wash.

 

During the car wash animation, I noticed something odd--a couple of stickies on the back. 8-O

 

Next scene, there were three more... followed by a player roaming around inside who had somehow (off the radar?) snuck up on me and was just waiting until the animation was done to vaporize me. lol

 

Didn't happen though, as I quickly changed sessions. Lesson learned.

Is there anyway (outside of purchase) to turn off all these people calling me to buy a bunker, nightclub, etc? Gets real annoying as I'm cruising through the town and get bombarded by 50 text and phones calls every 2 minutes.

Yeah, my thoughts too, as I don't remember seeing any "Some players are off the radar" message (I keep a close eye on that), and there's no way anyone could have suddenly got that close and planted stickies in the space of 5-6 seconds.

 

BTW, anyone know how many Stromberg missiles a max. armored Nightshark is supposedly able to withstand?

I hear ya. And how. Had like three phone calls (and e-mails) in the first 15 minutes of game play last night--absolutely ridiculous. I swear it's the way R* devs get back at players for any criticism they don't like.

Rockstar need to add a switch off feature on the phone.

 

thats why i stay off second character,  phone calls keep coming through telling me to buy a nightclub or clubhouse...... not buying same stuff twice with cash i made on first character.

Only because of Fully Loaded.  Otherwise it's obsolete.  I can make the MKII spammers leave a session with 20 mins of virtually indestructible Ruiner 2000 action.  And the missiles are ridiculously accurate. It will chase those broomsticks around corners and blow them up almost every shot.

Dam right it is.  They call at the absolute worst times.  Like doing a contact mission where only 1 death is allowed.  Your health is almost gone, you are looking for cover and the damn phone rings at that moment and you can't hit the button to take cover.

I have one more question. I have GTA on PC as well, recently purchased. I start to log-in and it shows both my PS4 account and my Steam account asking to link. I proceed to do this then I see some jargon about activating the PC device and that this device would be my only social club game or something to that effect. Are they saying that i would lose access to my PS4 account? I haven't proceeded to confirm yet because I wanted to know what kind of finessing they got going on.

^^ Seeing as you own (and play) GTA on both platforms, I'm not sure(?) how R* handles your stats, etc. since they no longer allow players to do cross-platform transfers.

 

I can only assume your character and social club stats are treated as two different people entirely, even though they may still be technically linked in ownership via R* Social Club.

 

I hope that if/when RDO comes out on the PC, that R* allows console players to transfer their characters. It is, after all, in R*'s financial interest if they want to make more sales.

 

Switching gears: Anyone know if the shock protection on the Ruiner 2K works when you're in it? i.e. If an NPC tries to pull you out of your car will they get zapped? (Just thought of it--will try it tonight).

You will not lose anything, PS4 character will be active as well as the PC one.

so i'm deciding to buy GTA for PC after all these years, mainly because all of my friends on the xbox side have seemed to separate and more of them are there nowadays. Anyway, I know character transfer isn't a thing anymore, but does anyone know if it's worth linking the same social club? would I still be out of the stone hatchet/DA revolver challenges because i technically already did them? stuff like that.

First of all, you will get your returning content bonus and this thing already is worth your efforts. Considering the challenges, I can't confirm if they are per account or you can do it on another platform too, support here is the best place to ask. Second, linking your SC it will be easier to track your progress over the platforms which is not bad either. I can't recall any reasons not to do that, unless you want to use menus in Online though.
