How hard is it to get the update cars into single player on pc? Also if I buy the disc at target do I still have to sign up for anything? I'm not keen on downloading from steam or making an account with them as I had bad luck with them a few years ago.

Not hard to be honest, It's been a while since I played Grand Theft Auto V on my PC (Doesn't run as nice as it use too) but back in the day there was a script mod you'd put in your script folder that would prevent multiplayer exclusive vehicles from despawning (This was because Rockstar had set the internal flags for these vehicle to despawn as soon as you spawn or attempt to enter them). Without that script mod you wouldn't be able to use MP exclusive vehicles in Singleplayer. The script wouldn't come with an in-game trainer / mod menu (download separately from another person)

As for buying physical edition at retail, you just need a Rockstar Social club account to be able to install and run the game (even if your intentions are only to do with Single-player). I don't know if that's changed or can be bypassed but that's how it was when I purchased my physical retail edition of GTA V for the PC two years ago from Game-stop / EB Games.

Do you have to pay for these trainers and scripts?

Do they integrate themselves or are there other things I'd have to do to add the menus to the game? Things like tinkering with game files and such?

Would an early 2013 mid range laptop run GTA, even if a bit choppy with low frame rate? I don't plan on touching pc online so as long as single player runs I'll take it. I have a newer laptop but it doesn't play disc based games for some reason.

No these are free trainers that you can download for Single player use, I don't know If I can link the site here but just google "GTA 5 mods" first site called "GTAV Mods" I've found to be pretty safe and has plenty of UCC (User created content) to keep you busy and entertained in Single-player. Anyone whose charging you for Single-player scripts and mod menus is a scammer or a rotten fool. If their charging you for mods stay the f*ck away. I doubt their SP mod menus would be too different to other SP mod menus.

as far as I can remember, you just download the script mod from a mod website and it comes in a zip folder or RAR folder (depending what zip program is on your PC) and you just extract the contents to your GTAV Script folder or follow the mod creators instructions. The SP Mod menus come with plenty of functions, too much to list here

Without knowing the "2013 Mid range laptops" actual specifications I don't know but even if it was choppy I'm sure they'd be some hardware and graphical mods out there that while making the game look a bit worse makes it run a bit better at the same time.

Edit: I know you said you weren't intending on taking the game to GTAOnline but if you ever do, DO NOT go online with mods or scripts in your folder. I can't be of much help on this part but I think there's guides around here that allow you to have separate directory so whatever is in your SP folder won't get you auto banned on GTAOnline but I'm not an expert on that part so I'd consult further advice with someone that knows better on this part.

Anyway this is going off topic so I can't be of more help here but Youtube & other parts of the forum should have the answers to any further questions you may still have.

  1. Install is mostly copy the files to the location listed in the readme, nothing fancy. If the trainer is installed, you're basically pressing a button to see the menu and that's it;
  2. Copying files is the most you will do;
  3. Laptop? Specs please. GPU wise it's not that important, but in the CPU department it may be a disaster. SP without mods is less demanding than Online in populated sessions with other players, which means less CPU stress;
  4. You can get a cheap copy of PC GTA V for your other laptop to avoid using physical media. There are shops where you can get a legit copy for $15, but there are probably a regional restrictions. If your drive on the laptop is not operational, you can either swap it (cheaper, more tricky) or use an external one.

Hope mods don't mind PC stuff here, subforum is almost dead but if you have further questions you can either PM me or we can head to the PC section.

Found some weirdness: during Headhunter, with 1 wanted start a police Helo showed up on the mini map, so I went to investigate, and found an unarmed Buzzard just patrolling around:

I watched a couple of videos by Albo1125 on how to install mods. All I have installed so far is scripthookv, trainerv, openiv and vanilla works extended pack and got the new cars with one of them. Even with knowing nothing about computers and modding it was pretty easy just following exactly what the video was doing.

I am surprised at just how many players don't know about the tunnels, maybe they should of spent time playing storymode.

So you wanna have some fun,  take a business battle car in the tunnels,  so a BB pops up, its the locate a car in the parking garage, I find it, but all my stuff is almost full so I was only going to RP( which I seem to get plenty of that from spinning the wheel)  So I took the Issi Classic down to the subway tunnel and drove it around for a bit, then left it , not one of the players looking for it could figure out it was in the tunnel.

DentureDynamite

Just curious if anyone else got -both- of these Alert screen messages when logging in last night?

"For being a dedicated GTA Online Player, we are awarding you $250000"

"Rockstar Game Services have corrected your GTA Dollars by $250000"

What's a bit odd is that the "corrected" message lacks a minus "-", insinuating I was given a total of $500,000 instead of just the $250,000 for logging in last night..?

(A "minus" message means R* has deducted the amount from your bank; i.e.: "Rockstar Game Services have corrected your GTA Dollars by -$250000")

I should have immediately checked my Maze Bank transactions log, but failed to do so before other transactions overwrote them. 😕 (And no, I don't keep track of smaller amounts like that). lol

thats exactly why they send irrelevant messages claiming players that are hiding are somehow mysteriously hacking lol

completely oblivious..

@Gettin up  They're paying players $250k for logging in for the casino. Most of us should receive it by August 11th.

I realized that cashing your chips in will increase your overall revenue. Mine was like $455.4 million last night, cashed in $800k in chips, and was at around $456.2 million in revenue. That was helpful to learn, since I'm trying to hit $500 million this year.

Got mine last night.

However, they reamed me for over 300,000 chips due to the change to the Inside Track programming.

121 races and the 6 horse only won once, number 1 won 57 times (but at evens or 2-1 or 3-1 almost all of the time).

3, 4, and 5 were winners FAR more often than before.

Horse racing is dead to me.

No, it is not easy to do. It takes insane practice. Half the effort is put into actually controlling the Mk2, keeping it upside down. The Mk2, since it is not designed to fly upside down, will try its best to correct itself. You have to fight against it and train to keep it up side down. Then you have to avoid crashing and be able to turn where you want without messing it all up. You also have to learn how to do what I am doing in the video, pushing the Mk2 to reach insane speeds. All of this is done whilst the handbrake is held down. Once you get the hang of it, though, it becomes muscle memory. I still mess it up every now and then, however.

As for how fast you can go, very fast. Probably faster than the horse riding one from last year. You can reach about 250+ mph, I would say.
