Welcome to the club gentlemen. See, this is what happens when a developer makes an update that is shallow as a puddle, and sprinkles 10 pounds of glitter on top of it.

 

Sure it looks pretty at first, but it's still just a puddle that doesn't do sh*t for the world. It's just gonna evaporate.

 

But hey, I'll be back and so will you. We all know it. We will be back for that next glitter dump.

 

I'll load up my game for some Mamba stripes, that's about it though.

The drive to want to play just wasnt there this week, I could of found time, but I found other things to do instead, I am going to fire it up tonight and play for a bit.   I had to do a lot more adulting this week

 

You are right Bud, I will be back, I havent reached that point yet, I still love GTA and can tolerate online

I play in SP with mods on PC but wouldn't consider that as really playing when I'm just making paintjobs.. lol

PS4 on the other hand, I've played Mafia 3 this month more than I have GTA Online.
Chances are if you see me online, I'm just using my PS4 to stream music since it's connected to my surround sound, my PC isn't.

I'd be lying if I didn't say a friend keeps me interested, playing with them is always fun, but they haven't been able to play.. lol

I've noticed yesterday that Simeon's contact missions' rank requirements to start them on your own sort them out into a little storyline: you first help him recover inventory for his showroom by questionable means and then eliminate competition as the last two missions to be unlocked for him. This propels his business to be profitable by the time that V's story comes around, proven by how often he seems to have customers whenever Franklin shows up at the place to run a task for him.

 

Add to this Franklin's mention to Michael and Madrazzo about the missing jurors in a case against the Mexican mob boss, Franklin's tease directed at Lamar's dealings with tanker sells, Lester's "working with someone who is too unpredictable" and the fact that the cooling tunnel to Humane Labs is closed most likely due to the earlier heist that took place inside it - all of these are results of our character's actions. While this last assortment of examples is already well-known by the community (including myself) for a while now, I only noticed that little Easter Egg in Simeon's mission ordering while really thinking about what I was doing instead of simply playing these missions in a robotic fashion.

 

I love this sort of attention to detail and it makes me yearn for more narrative elements to be added to Online - or wish they had been better realised in the past. Thankfully, RDR Online seems to have this in mind right from the get go, which may mean good things for future GTA titles.

I'm completely with you there; my pet idea of lost opportunities has always been the customizable character taking the part of C.J. light Franklin (two recorded voices for gender choice, everybody just referring to char as "kid", minor changes in contact back stories, etc.), and slowly unlocking all multiplayer options during the first half of story mode. I enjoy rebuilding in my head cutscenes, adapt and rearrange story arch, merge online missions into story mode mission tree, etc. Completely useless, but nice mental exercise

Confusion sets in as I walk the streets of online becoming forgotten and old I struggle to earn the life that was once was interesting is left to die alone. friends of the past live for now struggling to make a name that once was offering nothing clinging to hope just to die in the cold wind thinking of what could of been in the fear of never would be

Isn’t it really strange that R* completely refuses to make balancing changes in retrospect? Yes, they make smaller changes that hardly anyone notice, but the big stuff is just left unchanged.

 

They throw in weaponized vehicles that completely change the playing field, and then just leave it in there without any changes, even though it might ruin the game even.

 

Take the Oppressor Mk2 for example. Since it was brought to the game hardly anyone is using cars anymore and those that do are dead like sitting ducks.

 

Wouldn’t it make more sense of them to tweak the game? I know, R* rarely if ever makes changes, but I don’t see the logic in that for a game that’s consistently updated and is 5 years old.

 

It’s like cooking and you keep throwing in ingredients without ever tasting it.

Well, some devs haven't been listening. Making money has never been easier and safer too. You can do lots in Invite Only sessions, netting you 200K per hour.

Well, that depends on what you want to buy. A wise man once said: "The best way to get rich is to want less".

 

That aside, I've never been strapped for cash much and most certainly not after buying the Terrorbyte+Op MkII.

It makes more money than R* comes up with stuff to spend it on.

Count me in the haven't played in days crowd, I've been playing other games and just yesterday started over SP. If we don't get a good event week by the time I finish the campaign... next week I think. I'm just gonna play Skyrim and not bother logging on apart from unlockables until Red Dead Redemption 2.

How can you idle in someone else's session?

 

My wife can idle in her own one for hours watching surveillance cameras, but times out when she does the same in my session (I'm the host/had an empty session from the start and she joined me).
