My first stop of the day was Best Buy. No PS4 Pros there. At all. Only one regular PS4. 

 

Second stop was f*cking GameStop...ya know..the places that specializes in selling freaking video games. No PS4 Pros there either. They inform me no GameStop in a 250 mile radius has one.

 

And then finally I get to Walmart, the Pro isn't even on the shelf, it's spot is empty. I have to ask and they pull the last/only one they have out from the hidden locked up cases under the digital cameras lol.

 

Either people have been buying the sh*t out of Pro's this week or everyone is slacking hard af on their inventory.

Weird. I plan to buy one in a few months, I hope the stores haven't met the same fate overhere.

Try buying a PS Vita from EB Games/Gamestop.. There's none around here and you have to put in a order for one to the store..then go there when they get it to pick it up.. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops for sh*t..Walmart never had them here, they never bothered when it came out.

I'd get it off Amazon but..idk. lol

I like to try before I buy consoles/handheld gaming systems.. I don't know anyone near me who has one and probably for the same reasons.. lol

Feel the same way,   I think the new gen console's are within a few years out,  so I am kind of holding out right now too, I just dont see the reason to jump the Pro right now, maybe if I had a 4k TV I would , but no 4k TV yet.

The only console I got a better version of was the 360, and that was because of the Slim's memory amount compared to the pitiful amount on the original.

 

I'm not a graphics guy, otherwise I'd play on PC. I prefer gaming where modders can actually be dealt with and have sanctuary from them too. A Xbox One X doesn't really appeal to me... I don't even have a 4k tv, I'm guessing they're more expensive than a console though if I looked it up. *googles* Yep.... I could buy a PS 4 and Switch for that price... and I probably will.

I don't get the appeal of 4k or VR stuff.

I bought my PS4 Pro in 2017 because the original base model I bought used earlier that year turned out to be problematic 6 months into owning it. So I traded it in at EB Games/GameStop for my Pro, that dropped the price down to $258 from what I remember. I’ve had zero problems since I bought my Pro.

Made my 500th sell mission last night & reached $110½M in earnings.

 

I was skeptical once, I even shut down my Bunker for a period of time because of the daily fees, but I eventually saw the light & came around. One of my best GTAO decisions.

Just upgrade from my old 24" TV monitor, to a 32" one, and holy sh*t, a few things I've noticed.
1. Believe it or not the FPS on my new TV seems smoother, like the old one was rough as hell at times, going to guess that's because my new TV has a higher refresh rate.
2. Games look f*cking amazing.
3. I can actually play from my bed and be able to see sh*t clearly now.

I've had this TV for about a year now but never used it as I could not for the life of me get my Desktop PC to display on it well, that was till last night, had to pull a little bullsh*ttery with NVIDIA Control Panel to do it but it works.

That's mostly a gen-chat rule. There's plenty of forum games in this section that are allowed.

 

Problem is that alkaline's fluffy language unfortunately made it come across as a sh*tposting thread (especially to anyone who either doesn't frequent this section or is unaware of the resident penguin). To me personally all forum games are fine as long as they're within the rules. After all there were a few forum games here that took less effort to create, let alone play, so it's not a problem to anyone at all. And fun is always nice. I would unlock it and see where/if it goes, but it was a higher-up's decision to lock it in the first place so they will have to try to talk to them about it if they haven't already.

I don't suppose Rockstar will do anything to mark this anniversary.

I'm quite sure that's the plan, more people switching Online for RDR2 means less shark card sales but it also means more RDR2 sales, and they have to break even from their investment on the game.

I think RDR Online will be much like GTAO.

 

free roam world..... travel the plains doing jobs, earning money to purchase property like stables to own all kinds of Mounts.

(shark cards available to buy, for those players that don't want to grind)

Many people may berate them but I just tried running a couple of different activities such as VIP Work, Client Jobs, Contact Missions and Survivals while listening to both Modern Warfare 2 and 3's soundtracks and it made everything much more engaging and refreshingly exciting.

 

There was this one time when I was coming out of a LSIA hangar with a Hostile Takeover package and was completely overrun by cops while MW3's I Stand Alone track played as the sun was rising far on the horizon. Simply priceless. Survivals also feel like the most important thing ever thanks to this, a true fight for life - being honest here, anything beats the original droning music that accompanies these.

 

I recommend anyone that enjoyed the MW trilogy to try doing this if they haven't yet.

 

Off-topic addendum: Discovered right this second that MW3's soundtrack was composed by Brian Tyler, the same guy that wrote NFS: The Run's bombastic original music - a personal favourite of mine. My first thought to finding out about this was "that makes way too much sense".

I was staring at that wall 5 years ago, I was overwhelmed with anger & frustration because I couldn't find a copy anywhere & Sony had exclusive rights on the digital version. Videos were starting to surface on YouTube & that kept adding more salt to the wound.

 

I left no store unchecked & all them had the same story "The game shipment has been seized by Customs". By 10 p.m. I was hopeless & made peace with the fact that I'll miss out on another GTA, I carried on with my day, picked up groceries and found a small obscure game shop on my way home, I thought hey might as well check it out for a peace of mind. He said Yes, I thought he was trolling & I demanded I see one. He showed me the box & I couldn't believe my eyes! I held the box & I still couldn't believe it. I was short on cash, so I put down a deposit, left my brother as a collateral (priorities, right? ) & drove home as fast as I could (within speed limit of course ) to pick up the remaining cash.

The game came in 2 discs, took for ever to download thanks to my aging Xbox, but once the download was completed, the rest was history lol.

 

Over the course of the past 5 years I've played Forza Horizon 2 & 3, Sleeping Dogs, Saint Row 3, Need For Speed '15, Metal Gear V & The Crew, none of them scratched that itch for me & I kept returning to GTA at the end of the day. I think the only reason I'll stop playing V/Online is GTA VI ... Or a remastered Driver (one could dream, right?)

 

Here's why that wall was so significant: This is the last scene in the first GTA V trailer.

 

 

Have a trip down memory lane & rewatch the trailer again.

 

 

I'll be listening to Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces all day.

 

I can't believe its been 5 years! Happy anniversary!

I don't buy used electronics and I always try to upgrade when old stuff breaks,  so for the extra $100 a Pro costs over a regular PS4, it was a no brainer for me. 

 

Problem for me was finding one actually in a store. Nobody had them, except Walmart which had just one lol.

 

I buy a new console at the moment I think my old one can still function as a spare quite well, in case something might happen with the new one, which has never been the case. My old ps3 still works too. This is how hoarding starts

I moved out to the country and we have absolutely sh*t internet. Can’t hardly even watch a YouTube vid without it buffering. I’m rocking like 5.6 upload speed and .8 download speed. For some weird reason I’m connecting to GTA much faster. Have yet to get a “failed to connect to session” notice at low MTU and haven’t gotten dropped from any sessions. Weird
