now don't get me wrong, the game looks fantastic and all that and the attention to details from the screens looks impressive but I'm not hyped for it, it's just not GTA, but those screens did get me thinking about the next GTA for sure; I've also remembered the time when the marketing started for GTA5 after the drought of no info for 8 months after the first trailer got released, and the two screenshots that were released in the asked and answered about Max Payne 3, good times, good times ... I cannot wait for the day I get a notification from Rockstar's twitter page saying that GTAVI is in full development lol

The folks trying to say that GTA is dead and RDR2 is going to shine in a GTAO forum sound silly and funny to me lol

I actually don't know, I've seen someone saying that we, the GTAO players, are salty because RDR2 is in the spotlight, the only thing that makes me salty is the fact that I have to scroll down a little bit when I open GTAForums to get to this section lol

I don't think RDR2 will be as big as GTA V, especially in sales. Maybe over time but GTA V set mad records in the first 24hrs of release. It will be tough, for sure.

 

I know that I'm not getting it though, neither are a few dozen people I've talked to, just no interest or not supporting the future games because of how this game turned out(like myself).

 

Some are going to wait for it to drop in price too or second hand buy.

 

I don't know, just tired of all the RDR2 talk.. lol

But reading about RDR2 and seeing the screens and trailers, Im kind of struck at how these two games are actually made by the same developer. Not going to start a This is better than that-discussion, just... Im so looking forward to worrying about my decaying meat and not have to see flying cars for a good while.

Well, considering Sam, Dan and co. have probably been working on RDR2 for ...maybe as soon as they were done with GTA V, it's not that surprising - the more I think about it, the more I start to realise that aside from the 'proof of concept' earlier stuff that was designed alongside GTA V single-player, GTAO has mostly been defined by people other than those responsible for the overall design attitudes of the series as a whole.

 

If anything, all the recent talk about RDR2 sounds like the next logical phase in R*'s open-world approach, with all the increased interactivity and dedication to verisimilitude. That's great, and it's what I've always enjoyed about the games (even when the writing hasn't always been stellar... ) - and I hope there's an open-ended 'Red Dead Online' with decent character creation, so I get to do all that without being saddled with Generic McClichéDude Arthur Morgan the whole time...

 

But that's still kind of a shame when contrasted with GTAO, because seeing R*'s new title do all the things I like out of an engrossing open-world experience just reminds me of how GTAO really isn't about that all that much - not any more, anyway. And in general, I'm kinda frustrated by having to piece together my ideal GTAO substitute out of other games as it is - so no matter how good RDR2 multiplayer ends up being, it's just going to be another thing to add to that particular pile.

Sometimes when I make mountain hiking trips and look at mountain pics of when it's snowing makes me really wish we had a snowboard we could whip out and casually slide down mountains.

 

I know it'd be pointless, but it'd be some casual fun. Especially if the cabin lift would be introduced to Online.

Well I don't actually get the point of that name, if I'm in a lobby and some sucker went ghost I immediately switch to passive anyway until they're back on radar, I love it when I see that they're back on radar a block away from me

It's always a good bit of fun to revisit the older jobs in GTAO. For example, my friends just discovered a race around the golf course in caddies. It was glorious.

 

We raced forklifts and Faggios around Happiness Island back in the day, but the caddies are so much more intense, especially when jumping over a bridge while fighting for first.
