I gotta laugh at the people that get so butt hurt when you collect the bounty they had on their head , I collected Mr butt hurts bounty, I went on my way , ended up at my I/E warehouse, Mr butthurt comes along and plants some prox mines out for me, nice try . I go passive and walk out and then exit passive and blow them up. I sent him a message, "lol nice try"

Mr butt hurt responds with putting a $9k bounty on me

Really Mr Butt hurt?

the bounty was probably there to stop you from going to passive mode but the guy got the order messed up I guess lol

No Use For A Name

Speaking of bounties, is it finally time to give up placing them as a way of f*cking with players? Before all these SharkCardMobiles, bounties were a good way of punishing players for pissing you off. They were also a good way of making sure the guy drew attention and subsequently got hunted. If the bounty was moving irregularly across the map, you knew he was in a jet or helicopter.

Now it seems almost counterproductive. You see a bounty icon and you have no idea if theyre in a plane, Oppressor, Deluxo, some other weaponized vehicle, etc. no clue whether theyre on the ground or 8000 feet in the air. Seems masking what theyre in and what theyre doing almost makes it easier to for them to continue griefing.

Stumbled upon that store. I wonder if that would be a good idea, to make it an actual working masks store. It's so painful to go to beach if you want to buy a mask. They should have more than 1 shop.

The above you/below you indicators still work. I don't much care if they are in a jet or deluxo I will still go after them.

Biggest issues are those hiding in stores or parking lots. Have to land, get out and do actual work. Blah.

I mostly wish there was a clearer indicator of when you have a bounty active on yourself. I like to get it cleared before I do any business work and its easy to start a session with one from a day or two ago and miss the little notification.

The bounty came after I blew up both his prox mines and sent him the message of nice try, anyways, I got $9k for my troubles, so I am happy.

Do not care about RDR2, have no interest and will literally never touch the game. Rockstar is abandoning and half-assing their golden goose to death for what they can hope will be at most, what, two thirds as profitable? I'm going to predict 30%. RDR2 will only make 30% the profit of V and the Housers will be fired.

This is very easy...

When not in organisation, try to enter passive mode.

If you can't, there you go.

You would get a text message saying someone put bounty on you, if that isn't clear enough.

It's funny how you can get a full military gear on Binco instead of Ammunation but not a simple mask, nope, gotta go all the way to Vespucci Beach.

Also, it would be cool if Vangelico was open to the player to buy jewelry, which we haven't got any in a long time.

What is it that's keeping gtao alive for all of you. Dozens of triple A/indie game fad have popped up since and despite how horrible cheating/glitching run rampant on pc/old gen console with their equally if not worse customer service. gtao somehow manage to retain a large player base, I myself had lost interest in gtao for about a year until i saw someone else snapmatic and felt like messing around with it again.

what is it that makes the average gtao joe around here still feel its appealing and worth spending time or is it because we all have nothing else better to do.

I'm not one to buy into the idea that a game like GTA can really be outgrown. You can't get tired of an open world sandbox game like GTA or Saints Row or even The Elder Scrolls or Fallout. There's always more to do, whether it's supplied by the game, by the player, or, in the case of Online, other players. Online is especially easy to be refreshened for its continuous updates and player-driven events.

I've sunk thousands of hours into the Fallout series, into TES, into GTA, and the only way I've been able to is to not let myself get burned out. And I certainly don't play these games if I don't want to, and I don't partake in things I won't have fun with. For Oblivion and Skyrim, I never play the Dark Brotherhood, for GTA, I never grind and I don't put up with the older games' tendency to give the player the run-around. That's not fun, and I'm here to have fun.

Of course, for a lot of people, it's just not their game. Even if somebody is swept up into GTA by the general gaming community's adoration for the series, it can very quickly be boring for somebody who is more at home with Super Smash Brothers or Katawa Shoujo. I think plenty of people try to convince themselves that they should play GTA because it's one of those games that is so synonymous with modern gaming, and that's a bit of a shame. It's part of a greater trend where people bandwagon and create a singular mindset. This groupthink creates a rather vivacious hotbed for some of the local cynicism, doublethink, and rather silly points of focus that have no realistic standing. It promotes the aforementioned intolerance and shaming of folks who might not actually like GTA the same way, and influences this idea that it's "right" to play the game, and "wrong" not to.

For me, personally, I play GTA not as a major fan, but because it does provide easy access to fun and good times. If I had the Forza Horizon series, Halo: Reach, and the original Saints Row available to me on PC, I might only ever play GTAO when my friends want to. But as it is, GTA is a good stand-in. I get to drive my '80s Cadillac around a neat diorama of Los Angeles, and goof off with friends in a rather unshackled multiplayer sandbox. It's all good, as long as it's not every day.

A little long-winded, but I hope there was something of worth in there.

Whoa... nice vernacular, bro!

Hilarious how folks are going out of their way to say they won't play Red Dead. Ok, cool. Who gives a flying F if it doesn't make as much as GTA V. GTA will be 5 freaking years old by the time RDR is released. Is R* as a company supposed to keep fluffing the same stagnant game? RDR 2 will make hella money anyway, but as a gamer I care about fun games with cool content, not how much the company is making.

Im sure Ill play it at some point, just not on the first day. I played Red Dead Revolver, which I think is an R* game...didnt really hold my interest. Hoping the single player story is good cause I doubt Ill do online, especially if its anywhere near as cancerous as GTAO is.

Anyone know the best Special Vehicle Mission to farm?

...whichever takes about 10 minutes to complete, but doesn't run the risk of some rando screwing up at the last minute.

I.e., if you get to the final checkpoint of something like Arms Embargo (the Ruiner 2000 one), but someone drowns their car at the very end, and you have to restart from the last drive from Zancudo, you'll be done in only a couple of minutes from that checkpoint, and so will only make a fraction of what you could have earned if you did it in one clean, unbroken run.

Looking at the list, I'd say Escape Escort (Ramp Buggy) and maybe Cleanup Op (Blazer Aqua) - Escape Escort is almost completely idiot-proof (unless your team is really incompetent), and while some folk get careless and wipe during the very first shootout in Cleanup Op, it's so close to the beginning that restarting doesn't really affect the payout (and all the other targets really don't put up much of a fight from then on).

There will be a message in the menu when you highlight the passive option and it says you cant go passive while you have a bounty.

The servers tonight presented a resurgence of casual trolls and tryhards alike, filling every session I tried with their toxicity. Couldn't help my friend sell coke as it wasn't safe anywhere. I highly assume this is due to the RDR2 trailer which triggered a brain mechanism that requires a "fix" in the form of a Rockstar title for these people. We eventually gave up for the night. Right after I took revenge on a good chunk of these fools.

RDR was a complete success without any prior hype. RDR2 carries the RDR hype all over. Do you think it'd be that far compared to GTA V profitability? You're delusional here, people....

Also RDR2 not reaching GTA levels is a good news for us. GTAO can keep the pewpewboomboom kiddos forever, we wouldn't miss them hahahahaha

In terms of Game sold I think RDR2 will do well. I think the storyline will be enough for me to buy it. RDRO on the other hand, I'd be surprised if it was even half as profitable as GTAO.

I don't doubt RDR2 will be less successful than GTAV, but GTAV is nearly in a league of it's own. Achieving half, even a third of it's sales would be considered a big success for almost any game.

Its been posted before and I'll post it again: GTAO isn't going anywhere until it stops making money or a sequel comes along, and RDR2 won't be what kills it.

In my opinion, i think RDR will SMOKE gta anyday. Just reading about the details of RDR makes the thirst for it even greater, and now it makes GTA seem so... irrelevant. Dont get me wrong, i still love GTA and its a great game, but if i had to choose between the two, red dead all the way.

Good, I guess?

I must say, RDR2 looks amazing, but it's only hyping me up for GTA6 lol

anyways, we are both off-topic here, lets not keep dragging this otherwise Mach will show up any moment now with a golden double action revolver and shoot everybody!

I don't know what he meant exactly, but in my understanding the golden goose was GTA series in general. Yes, it's been almost 5 years of GTA and that is the problem. Because R* never released anything after 2013, not a single title! We have seen LA Noire, Red dead redemption and Max Payne 3 in a timeline of 5 years between IV and V. All of these games are amazing by themselves, but R* released them in these 5 years between their main franchise titles! What we're having today is a decline in my book and that's pretty much obvious.

And joke is on you, because I don't want Online to live forever, I want next GTA. RDR will never shine for me and most of GTA fans, because, well, it's not a GTA. V was announced in 2011, by the way. I don't think it will be useful to speculate about GTA next, there is another subforum for that, but from the looks of it, the thing is not even on the horizon.
