Most helpful feature (s) ?

Algonquin Assassin

Pretty self explanatory.

For me.

-Taxis in GTA IV/EFLC and GTA V. Easily the most helpful feature IMO and something I wish that was included in San Andreas. No more driving to the other side of the map for something that takes a couple of minutes to do.

-Quick save in GTA V. A bit like the taxis. Quick save removes the hassle of traversing the map for a trivial thing. Or in this case saving.

-Back up in San Andreas and GTA IV/EFLC. Nothing more badass than calling in some comrades for some help.

Not sure if it qualifies as a feature, but the cover system in IV & V was an absolute godsend in hindsight, it's the one thing I really miss when going back to the old games.

Sussus Amongus

  • Rockstar editor for both IV and V. Though it can be a bit limiting, it certainly helped make a lot of great machinimas (rip Yeardley). Much better than having to use a ghetto looking freecam mod all the time.

Aim down sights. I always found the free aiming in GTA VC and III a bit obnoxious. Probably the massive crosshair in the middle of the screen and how underdeveloped the camera was compared to other GTAs.

- The power-ups in GTA 2 (invulnerability, invisibility, double damage, etc.). Extremely useful for certain missions and kill frenzies.

- Also from GTA 2 are the car garages where you can rig your vehicle with weapons in addition to re-spraying the car. I sure wish they'd make a comeback.

- The bonus multiplier in the 2D games. GTA I isn't really that hard because you get paid during and at the completion of a lot of the missions.

Skip Trips in 3D universe games and those 'replay mission' texts from IV and EFLC (Can't remember if V has them).

Taxi's for mission destination in the 3D era that spawn's at hospital & last checkpoint saved in mobile port's of the Gta titles and of course San Andreas

Also Roman's rude cab driver Mohammed that can take you anywhere with a wanted level or even on mission's make's it even easier with a bunch of target's chasing you.

Not just that , but also good for trophy hunter's to get the wanted level trophy's

When I close the game or shut off the system it doesn't save anything. I ain't letting pieces of sh*t mess up my deliveries.

Not sure if its exactly a feature but, the game saves your weapons when you die in IV> it's very useful, with it i don't have to buy weapons, or use the weapon cheat every time i die in a mission.

And you call yourself an IV fanboy :p

One has not fully experienced IV unless he has had Muhammed drive him around while drivebying at cops.

Ability to open the map in the menu (I think it first appeared in VC),it made planning routes in missions a lot easier, especially when I played some game for the first time and didn't know the map well.

>when you finish a tough mission as a kid and your dad is yelling at you to get off the television so he can watch PBS Newshour and he unplugs your game because it's taking you 5+ minutes to find a safehouse to save your game at

Dunno if it can be considered a feature, but I miss being able to choose myself what savegame I want to load instead of letting the game load the latest save. Really annoying when you're not the only one in your house currently playing the game.

Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder...

Sorry. I didn't get a chance to reply to this before, but hell yes. Going back to the 3D era and trying to have a shootout feels bizarre when no one tries to employ any sort of tactics and stand outs in the open like complete knobs.

I use cover the large majority of the time in GTA IV and GTA V further refined it. Though I wish it retained those going into cover animations like GTA IV when Niko would slide or do a forward roll. They were cool..

The Time Ranger

Waypoints that actually map out a route like in IV and V rather than just a marker in the 3d area. That was pretty handy.
