Are we suffering from the Mandela effect?

Hey forumers,

 

What suffering from the Mandela effect means, for those of you who don't know, is having a false recollection of an event, alongside other people, you all were firmy convinced was true, until you read/find out what you were believing is acutally wrong. The name was coined in reference to the fact that people thought and firmly believed that Nelson Mandela died in prision even though he grew to become an iconic figure of the anti-apartheid movement after his release from captivity.

 

Where I'm trying to get to here with this long and unnecessary introduction is to our Yachts in GTA:Online. I know, quite overkill for a trivial subject like that, but I got you reading this far, so here's the thing I need your whisdom for: were we ever able to climb up the latters at the stern (back of the boat) or am I just getting old? There is a common consensus among our friend group that you always were able to climb that ladder, yet now I can not for the life of me get from the water onto my boat over the ladder, neither can the others.

 

I'm taking this to the forums to hear what other people have to say about that. I am genuinely unsure if this is either a bug or we always were unable to climb onto these ladders.

 

Since we're already are on the theme of recollection, it has been a while now that, while you're launching a Headhunter mission with some associates in your heli, they get stuck and are unable to move, shoot or jump out. After that they'll get randomly kicked from the vehicle when you approach to the ground, resulting in unnecessary accidents and deaths. A very big nuisance, especially when in a Valkyrie. What I can also recall are car sales lagging out when a lot of money is in play and I also remember friends getting stuck in blackscreens while attempting to enter or leave their biker business.

 

I hope the developer decides to fix some these bugs soon and make me forget they ever existed resulting in me question my recollection of events again. Either way, they might aswell fix them, because if they persist I'll end up loosing my sanity anyway.

Same here, I believe I climbed the ladder yesterday in fact.

 

Things like the helicopter bug, these glitches are new. The problem is I don't think they envisaged GTAO would go on for so long. So I don't think it was designed in the outset in an effective modular manner (coding wise) were it was easy to add stuff continually. Not without introducing one new feature but creating two new bugs with it anyway.

Well, technically he said "No Luke, I am your father". I pretty much guess everyone just cut off the "No" when recollecting it originally.

I tested this out recently and yes my Yacht ladder doesn't work either but only my right one, the left one works as it should.

I could and still can climb the ladders.

 

I could and can also jump from the wet deck onto a jetski and if I press the button my character will magically step to beside it, standing on the water, and climb on.

I can't climb the ladders either. I always thought that you could but every time I try, I fail. The head hunter issue has been around ever since I got my CEO office around this time a year ago.

Yes, you could use ladders just fine.

 

Can you change the Yacht accessibility to Everyone and try again? Can't test it myself atm.

The video choice was completely random, I just searched for one from back in the day the DLC was released and was reasonably short.

It's just bugs. I can't seem to climb my Yacht ladders anymore, and neither can I use the MOC weapons systems. I'll sit in the chair, with no option on the D-Pad, or even an option to stand back up. I also occasionally now get glitched when trying to leave a garage or my Clubhouse through the garage doors on foot. My character will stoop down to unlock it, but will just stay crouched, not frozen, still idly glancing around every now and then, but neither completing the animation and leaving the garage or cancelling out of it and remaining inside. Quite annoying.
