I'm going to let this poll be value-judgement based, rather than solely on profitability.

Let how you decide your choices be a combination of all factors:

  • Profitability
  • Difficulty
  • Convenience
  • Cost
  • Fun
  • Whatever else

I'm not really sure where I stand. Where do you stand? I don't think it's easy to decide.

I'm sure it's not even up for debate that I/E is the best free roam money maker to date

Gunrunning is probably the worst, compared to the three others at least. It works well when you combine it with MC and I/E though. Also, why did you create this topic in the Gunrunning sub-forum? It should be in the Online section ya bum!

I really want to pick import/export first, because it definitely involves the least risk, and it is the most fun, yet...... ok. I'm going to go with import/export as the best right now... or maybe not... ugghhhhhhhh. That's why I made this poll. I don't know!!!!!!!!!!

You can make upwards of $500,000 per hour doing a combination of all 4 + VIP Work in Sightseer and Headhunter.

However, Import/Export is clearly the way to go. It has a very reasonable upfront investment cost compared to the other rackets, and you can make about $200,000 net per hour selling 3 Top Range cars in 60 minutes. You can make even more if during the 20 minute cooldown, you source 2 crates, do a Sightseer/Headhunter, and Source your next car. That way, your warehouse fills up and the repair costs and crate sourcing costs are covered by the VIP Work, and you're not bored during the 20 minute cooldown.

There are also methods to source a top range car every time, called the 10/10/12 method. And there's also nothing wrong with letting your MC Businesses and Bunker fill up in the background occasionally resupplying. (Buy, don't steal, and upgrade Staff, Security, and Equipment for max profit per hour).

This is a fantastically concise explanation on how to make the perhaps the most money possible in this game.

I basically do the same thing, but I switch up the CEO jobs and challenges for variety.

I voted for crates being the best for making money in freemode and I/E for being the worst. Personally, I think biker deliveries are the funnest to do deliveries on back when it first dropped. I had plenty of friends who were willing to guard each others deliveries to the bitter end. This made for very interesting deliveries. Nowadays nobody wants to do that crap and everyone is too much of a pussy to deliver in full sessions

First, I don't run "solo" sessions (and yes, I know how to make one, I just don't want to).

So, keeping that in mind...

First, I scan the city during Piracy Prevention / Fortified

Few players? No additional risk coming from other players in the city? => I/E, both stealing and selling (voted as the best), VIP work in cooldowns

A lot of players OR random players near the Vehicle Warehouse, no PvP => Selling Gunrunning Stock (priority), Selling Bikers Stock

Full session (30 players or so) => Selling Bikers Stock. I produce and sell product in small parts. I sell in full sessions to get the multiplier.

The city is crowded with players involved in random PvP ? => Stealing supplies for Gunrunning, farming Sandkings, stealing supplies for Bikers Businesses, a single run for every business to keep the stock low. VIP work in between.

Voted crates as the worst, because of the buying missions. They are unpredictible.

You can recieve 3 crates in a single vehicle or in separate crates. The job could take 15 minutes in a worst case scenario. But, if you buy a single crate all the time - it will take forever to fill a warehouse. And you HAVE to fill a warehouse to get the full profit (the crate value depends on the amount of product you sell).

Selling the full warehouse is another story, too much risk. You can lose everything within seconds

However, when the I/E car is blown up you are losing nothing just a 15 minutes of your time (5-10 minutes to source, 5 minutes to sell). Also, I don't grind for hours (at least, after I finally unlocked the explosive ammo, lol :D ). So, with I/E you can just source and sell a single car per day or two. And you will recieve money instantly. It doesn't require much involvement.

Summary:

I/E > Gunrunning > Cocaine > Crates

Import/Export is hands down the best money maker

Gunrunning works well rotating with Import/Export

So yeah Import/Export. Accept no subsitutes. Why drive slow*** Vans when you can drive Super Fast Sports Cars and....Super cars?

Im stuck trying to decide, the crates seem like the most lucrative imo but the grind is really repetitive. With E/I i think we make less but at least we see progress each time we sell high end cars.

I assume by "the best" we're also including the fun factor since some players find filling a large warehouse up with crates unbearably boring because there's no prize until the warehouse is completely full, plus there's the risk of losing it all in an instant.

So if you can handle the grind and have reliable friends I guess i'd have to vote

Crates > E/I > Gunrunning > MC

But i dont play this game to accumulate tons of fake cash, hell I don't even own a large warehouse, i just know my friends who enjoy doing crates are probably the most wealthy legit players i know.

In terms of strictly profit, Import/Export is still the fastest way to make money.

But Gunrunning missions are lots more fun.

I liked Crates (until I just couldn't take it any more grinding after 500-600) but I don't like the way the game entices you to put all your eggs in one basket for delivery. When you do, you can be met with no 10th drop zone, smoke-obscured power towers/pylons, or Satan's personal Valkyrie, even in friendly or private lobbies.

I/E is straightforward. Steal the car, drop $20k into it, deliver it. There will be T-1000's in cars, but you can fly the car over them (and all the psychotic traffic) and maybe only suffer $61 in damage. I've had plenty of I>E cycles with no damage to the vehicle on either part of the trip and it's a fast $80k every time. You can almost pull off three of those in an hour. It's also exceptionally lone-wolf friendly. Using friends/associates to help sell is a bonus, not a sometimes-requirement.

I like the variety of Biker supply missions, but business get raided more often, the daily costs are high (compared to NONE with Crates or I/E), and compared to me and the 25-horsepower Boxville, Samuel L Jackson would marry the snakes on the plane. Plus, you have a narrow window where you can sell without it wasting your time for too-small batches and when you're guaranteed two vehicles that possibly can't be delivered on time when you're solo.

Gunrunning is similar to Bikers, but the manufacturing time is much easier to manage, the delivery vehicles are FAST, ARMED, or BOTH; the costs are more manageable (to mitigate or avoid altogether) and no LJT blowing up your phone. Plus, it is an add-on cottage industry to either Bikers or CEO enterprises.

It's simple.

Best way is I/E. 100K for driving cars.
Worst way is Gunrunning, product takes hours and not worth it in the end.
Best associate will always be CEO. Pair that up with Work/Challenges and the bodyguard pay? It's some of the best money to grind.

Whatever you do, always pair CEO Work (Headhunter, most predominately) as well as throw a Point to Point race to your buddy. That way he makes money while you sell cocaine & cars. Is it fun? I mean, it's routine for me at this point. It's not terrible but I'm not smiling like I'm on a rollercoaster either. Most fun is when you know you're losing money and saying "f*ck it".

Crates are most lucrative during bonuses, but they are the riskiest & most time consuming. Cars are the easiest, safest & quickest way to earn big bucks.

The worst way to make money in a populated lobby is MC businesses, especially if you are understaffed & have multiple vehicles.

Gunrunning sales are the most fun, but MC businesses are the most profitable for associates.

I have fun with some of the gun running missions. As for crates I think I am done with them since I have to pay while I just steal sh*t for the bunker (I don't own a MC).

I/E is obviously top. Selling in a full lobby? LOL YEAH RIGHT

Cargobob for the win, to bad R* tiny brain does not allow it to be used more often. Not like its going to save you from not being killed.....

You can make more money in total from I/E because of the availability frequency, as the cool down is only 20 minutes. But in terms of minutes per mission, gunrunning is miles ahead. You can flog 210k worth in under 10 minutes. But that's a mission that's only available every two hour twenty minutes due to the production time.

I/E will get a bigger haul while playing, but if you want to go afk and come back when the bunker has finished producing weapons, gunrunning is a gold mine. More pertinently, combining the two is a winner.

As partner: Gunrunning sale as MC member, can be up to 30(or 35?) for driving Custom Insurgent, I like it, as long I'm not asked to play 5 re-supply missions.

I don't mind helping to export cars with Bob.

Same about to help with Special Cargo sale, nothing really boring as Post vans are.

From my experience I can say least players attack me when selling MC stuff, way more with cars or now weapons. I am also happy that that selling guns works like MC, you do not have to complete the sale to get paid. Would be a real pain to me if it was designed like selling crates...

Edit: Ok after doing some sales in a public lobby, selling guns is not as bad as cars. Maybe people do not want to be under attack from the NPCs :p

When helping on sales, I'm available for all and any... But given the choice... Biker sales/Gunrunning sales as an MC... Better cash.

Otherwise non are particularly profitable as is, but the long term bonus of helping friends is that when your stuff is full/ready... Help is at hand...

Best for business.

(I say this, I haven't sold a full shipment anywhere since the 2nd time I had a 'friend' blow cargo up... Now I solo the whole damn lot... NEVER AGAIN!!!)

It's obvious that everyone thinks I/E is the best way to make money.

But where on earth is the love for Gunrunning sales?

You can make $1,050,000 with one sale, and if some of the stuff is blown up, you still get paid something. This, combined with the fact that you don't even have to steal the supplies if you don't want to makes it great. And it can work in conjunction with I/E. It's the best passive income in the game (notwithstanding the actual sale).

I will admit that recovering the product when it is stolen is horrible.

Still, I don't get what people don't like about the Gunrunning sales. What is the problem?

Like people mentioned in various threads, i'ts not suitable for solo gameplay. 15 minutes, 3 vehicles. It's not that easy to complete it without help. So, you need to wait until your friends join up. Or try to sell it with your crewmates (and make sure they are capabe to do it without runining the mission). You NEVER want to sell the stock with randoms.

I/E sells can be completed solo. Any time you want.

You didn't sell for specialist? It's 20k investment.

I can regain these 20k within 3 minutes, since the Headhunter cooldown should be passed at this point.

@Ops last comment - I think for gunrunning there is no point in selling more than 210k far in one go. That's very easy to manage. Only one vehicle. Exactly one supply bar, no risk of being raided.

As I said above the real power is combining it with I/E. I the time it takes to produce that much ie however could net you 560k (80 * 7 for 2 hours 20 minutes). However that's only 80k every 20 minutes. With GR you can shift 210k in under 10 minutes.

So, I/E will probably add more to your bank balance because of the frequency it can be done. But in terms of playing time GR has the best dollar per minute, you just can't do the sale mission that often.
