Gunrunning Supply Run: The Alien Crash Site revealed

Wow what a let down for everyone that has sunk time and effort into uncovering this...

A very pisspoor effort on R*'s side. Aside from the excruciating grind to "unlock" this, and the anticlimax of the whole thing; it doesn't even look good. The ufo is just clipped through the ground! The whole setup is weak af. A real couldn't care less turnout.

Wish it could have been a bit more special for you guys!

Do people really care about this Alien sh*t?

seems to me it's just more of a grindfest,

The point of that mission is to show that Fort Zancudo Anti-Air can catch UFOs.

Reference to Gunrunning being the Anti-Air update.

So what does this event tells us ?

1 - Zancudo / FBI either shot down a UFO or witnessed a crash

2 - Aliens killed everyone on the scene and flee in Los Santos when the player grab their egg.

3 - Zancudo officially had access to alien technologies from a full ufo crashed just next of their base.

4 - The alien egg is still in possession of the online player as far as we know.

It would correlate with the fact that they have a man-made ufo in SP. They surely had access to this technology in the past in order to use it and produce a man-made ufo using a stealth fighter design.

I think the main purpose is to establish that live aliens fled in los santos , proving that multiple live aliens are present in HD universe.

There's not even a possibility to fight them. The event is only a scripted scene , showing us aliens appearing around the player who grabbed their egg and fleeing from the crash scene. The end.

For me that's the info we need to retain here.

(...)But if it's confirmed there's nothing interesting to unlock or investigate further I'm calling it a day on this, will see it when I see it.

Well we don't know that right? Foxy also forced that mission with a mod just like Guru team did so maybe bringing that egg back legitimately, with no cheats unlocks something? or maybe it will unlock something in near future? Heck it can even unlock something in singleplayer (another easter egg hopefully. Final mission from Omega?)

Foxy also mentioned that spawning Insurgent and Technical unlocks 6 new upgrades.

Do we have a full list of every possibile research? Is there more then 51?

Descendants of Kraff. I knew Epsilon Program was right all along! KIFFLOM!

That Zancudo UFO seems to be back-engineered though ;) Obvious influence of stealth fighter in the design.

I like Fun's idea about the resupply being centered around a shoot down. AA was like the second major theme of the update next to running arms..

Wouldn't it have made more sense if the crashed UFO was the black one that hovers over FZ in SP?

Also, question, do the aliens shoot at you at all when they spawn? All the videos I've seen have the player killing them off so quickly and easily. What if you don't shoot them? D they really just appear out of thin air and then disappear? Aren't they there to protect the egg?

The black one is hinted to be made by humans based on a stealth fighter design. i think it would make more sense to think that Zancudo salvaged technologies on ufos to craft their own version.

for the aliens , If you do nothing , they vanish. if you just aim at them , it triggers the vanish immediately.

hmmmm idk what that egg does once we've taken it in bunker

sure it adds the supplies but i don't think it fit well as part of gun manufacturing or even research

It's just so... random. Which is sort of realistic i suppose. If we were selling guns for some deep state goon IRL, and he sent us to the outskirts of a mil base to collect supplies and we saw what the charaters see in game, well i dont think IRL Agent 14 would let us into the deepest levels of a classified black project either.

It's growing on me, i just wish there was more to it and maybe implemented a little better/more smoothly. Again, good work all.

They could have made it much better with a custom phone call IMHO. They wouldn't even have to mention specifics, for example along the lines of

"You're the only ones alive in the area, I need you to get to the site by Zancudo now. Secure the package and bring it back. You'll know it when you see it".

Custom phone call? I was hoping for a D.U.M.B. taken over by aliens inside of Chiliad. High hopes yes, but sh*t... there is so much potential in the world and setting of V/GTAO for small but crazy stuff like this, and it seems to be seriously neglected. I really want to know more about that floor wallpaper for the office mod shop. What was that supposed to be? What's the deal with that massive kraken alien??!!

^ yeah I mean as a bare minimum! It just makes it seem a bit, well, crap, that the phone call is nothing out of the ordinary.

Custom phone call?

That gave me a little idea. What if we could request UFO abductions after this? We know R* created two new UFO props and so far they used only the broken one.

Why not use the other one for something fun?

So lets say it works like this:

- Epsilon Program founds out about your little "encounter" and they say you are "worthy" from now one.

- You can call Cris Formage to "pay for his blessing".

- You select a player (just like with Lamar's mugger).

- Player gets picked up in a beam of white light.

- He gets teleported somewhere randomly on map. Wakes up drunk with no clothes on (similarly to Trevor in SP).

- You get his pocket money, he gets ufo themed t-shirt or a tattoo or something like that.

Just a cool little feature as a reword. Not to mention that it could be actually useful against griffers - UFO could easily abduct someone out of a moving jet right?

Non Funkable Token

I finished the ballistic armor research today and I got that specific phone call from 14 telling me about the possibility to buy it on Warstock.

If that can have its own phone call, I'm sure this mission will have something too.

So, im on the quest to 600. Anyone else having a problem where the supply bar ticks off 15k worth of supplies, but does not produce product? A undisturbed bunker does 210k far in about 2 hours, but I was doing supply runs for two hours and it only increased 14k in that time.

It doesn't. We know what happens. Nothing. People have completed the mission legitimately and nothing happens.

So if supply runs are what count then there's literally no way to tell how close we are to getting it lmao

Kind of like it better this way as it'll be a genuine surprise when it does happen. Although if it can only be triggered during a certain time and we don't even know what supply mission to start at that specific time range it's going to be super super rare for it to actually trigger :D

Interesting. I didn't get a phone call for it and that was the first item I unlocked.

Bought it, saw the $5,000 fee every time for using it, regretted buying it, used the glitch to use it in the shooting range and unlocked all the rewards, regretted it a bit less.

I bet every bunker that has obtained an alien egg will have to deal with alien raids on their bunker

And they won't vanish if you just aim at them either. They'll sponge up explosive rounds and quad-20mm fire and fire back with railguns.

The bunker doesn't make products if you are in supply or sales missions.

I've confirmed that it does actually produce while selling, but at a slower rate than normal.

My setup produces a unit ($7000 of guns) in 7 minutes.

I let it produce and the second after it increased by a unit I started a sales mission. I completed it and returned to the bunker in 8 minutes. 2 minutes later it increased by a unit. 10 minutes instead of 7, with >5 minutes during the mission.

I don't think the bunker will produce during a supply mission. The 7-minute clock seems to pause from when I activate the mission until I return from the supplies. I think the staff just screws around until I get back, so I feel fine avoiding paying them their $9400/day.

At the very least a fight with the aliens would've been more satisfying. But they just flee? Huh? Why do they even spawn in the first place? Aren't they there to protect the egg? So stupid and it doesn't make sense.

Mmm when I was selling like an idiot for the UFO I must wait 7 minutes between sells.

And for example, if you have 0 on thr bunker, then increase to 7000, you wait 2 minutes before to made a sell, after complete the sell, you must wait only 5 for another sell.

But bah, now doesnt matter.

Unfortunately I can't see where Global_262145.f_14868 is set or to what value.

Global_262145.f_14868 is set to 100, it's as you described it .. the probability of getting the alien mission.

You are guaranteed to get it if you complete the other conditions unless R* change that.

Thanks for the insight. That's bizarre they would put that section of code in at all if the condition is never met whatever random number is drawn - unless as I guess you're suggesting, R* thought there was a chance they might want to quickly change the probability later from 100% to a lower value.

Sorry if I'm being thick - where is the value for Global_262145.f_14868 set - is it in another script? I can only find this one reference to it in Freemode and it doesn't appear to be passed through any other functions either.

Answered my own question. For anyone who is nerdy like me and wants to follow through the scripts for their own interest, the values for the globals are set in tuneables_processing script (then the conditions are checked in freemode script, and the mission activating in gb_gunrunning.

Much harder to follow than IV MP where scripts for different modes were almost completely self contained.

Sorry I'll stop trying to turn this into a modders thread now.

funny enough , there is one UFO easter egg that flies way higher than fort zancudo's radar

I thought that was only in SP after 100% game completion?
