Gunrunning shooting range is just stressful...

I honestly do not understand the reason behind this point system and 30 second limit per use.

When I first knew the bunker would have a shooting range, I thought it was available to use openly. Just walk to the shooting range and start shooting. No need to press a button and select which gun to use. No time limit to see how many points you can get in 30 seconds. It just feels stressful and frustrating to use, considering the countdown and how long it takes for the results to show and to use it again.

How could R* have done this to us? It seriously needs to be reworked.

I agree, the results popping down like that take ages, especially if you are still trying to beat those challenges and are trying again (and again).

At first i tried doing them with the normal mk1 weapons, some were doable but definitely much harder. Mk2 is the way to go.

Curious thing i noticed is, if you can't get the score you need even if you just perform a full round of quick headshots, try switching the booth/lane. For some particular booths during given challenges, some booths worked much better (targets appearing faster and/or in better positions).

I don't mind that it has the challenges, but I think two things could be improved:

1. Add the ability to just stand and fire in a free form way at random targets. No challenge, just having some fun at the shooting range. It would mitigate some of my bitterness at having paid for this thing that turned out to be nothing other than those challenges hiding behind a paywall.

2. The challenges themselves should probably be easier - and I say this having already beaten them. They're too hard, and too random (which leads to frustration). If you're going to make players pay to try them, they shouldn't be so hard that only the top 10% of players can even beat them. Unfortunately I doubt they're going to do anything now that players have already beaten them. But I'd like to see something like doubling the time limit and score on all of them. (Since you stack the multiplier for the first 10 seconds or so, having twice as much time to get twice as much score should hypothetically make them easier than they are now. They could even go double the time and like 180% of the current score, so if you reset your multiplier once or twice, you don't auto-fail. And I think having more time inherently makes it a little less stressful.)

They are way too hard. I can't even beat them using the mouse. I'd pretty much written them off as something that could only be beaten with weapon upgrades. Sadly the Zelnick-approved cash-vampire random unlock system means that I may have to wait longer than my desire to play the game will last before they are available.

They should at least lower the score requirement a little bit or give us unlimited mags to eliminate the need for reloading, which really slows you down. I'm starting to think they just rushed the shooting range and didn't think twice about it.

Couldn't agree more. Thought it would've been for freely trying out mk2 weapons.

I knew my shooting was sh*t... I'm not a good, nor confident PvP player, and still get suckered by NPC's to this day (Some, like I/E are just ninja's man) so I

went into these challenges expecting a real uphill task of trying to get these...

After 45 minutes just to get 1 damn star on the f*cking pistol one... Yeah, bollocks... This far in, I ain't stressing over sh*t all... Too much R*... To damn much!.

Had I realised Gunrunning would have made me lose so much love for the game... 100% no doubt, I'd have done the glitch just to be done with this crap.

I thought it was a gun range for fun and practise and competitions with your friends.

When I found out it just unlocked skins and bombs? I am never buying it.

Seriously, you can buy ammo out in the field now. Why would you care about your carry limit.

Yes it is. I only have tier 3 pistol left and 680 is damn near impossible. I nearly researched an item just trying to complete it...

Closest I've got is 610 with 26 shots and 100%. If only 2 shots were headshots -_-

Once I get it, the shooting range will gather dust unless they add more challenges with different weapons.

I did pistol with 22 shots. Try taking a little more time for headshots. I think you can get about 8 body shots and still pass so use those body shots wisely.

Tier 3 pistol was the worst for me too. You need good target spawning luck, so partly it's just persistence, but you also need to make sure that once you get the stack multiplier - and really on this one I'd start at 2x and not even wait for 3x - EVERY shot needs to be a headshot. You still need to be moving pretty quickly, but if you take an extra half second to get a headshot, then do it. Those 30s and 45s are so much bigger than 10s and 15s in the end. Ultimately when I did beat it my accuracy and number of shots was about the same, I just got more headshots.

It was difficult for me at first. My advice is to set aside time to keep trying at it. After a while, you get into a zone and you're more familiar with the weapon hits and how many shots to let off. Also, if you have depth of field on, turn it off. That fuzziness when acquiring a target takes a precious second or so. Also turn down your aim sensitivity. You might also mess with the deadzone and acceleration to see if that helps you as well. There's also luck with the target pops too. So in short luck, settings, and skill all factor in to your attempt. But if I can do it, I know you all can too.

I just love everything about those challenges...the only thing that is a sh*tty move from cockstar is to make the shooting range option cost so much...it should be under 100 k.

But beyond that, i honestly see no reason to complain about anything, except the automatic weapon challenges being to easy compared to the challenges of the 2 semi-automatic weapons.

Also kinda would have been nice to have all guns have challenges there, not just the ones with mk2 versions.

I totally agree with this. Even though I just got the last star needed today on PS4, it's just extremely stressful and energy draining.

I mean, Jesus christ, 3000 points on the Carbine Rifle on Tier 3?? I spent two days just doing that one over and over again...

The worst is when you score 670 because you're reloading instead of getting that one last shot.

I beat the final tier today on ps4 holy sh*t it was one of the hardest things in a game I've ever completed, the stuff you get isn't really worth it, with exception of the extra 5 carrying ability. Good luck to all who are trying to complete this task.

Can't say I agree. I love this kind of stuff. Insane difficulty is something many games lack nowadays, especially GTA. Something I miss from the Ps1 days (People playing Crash Bandicoot right now know what I'm talking about lol).

Took me 2 nights on Ps4 to beat them all, and I really, really, suck at shooting.

For Ps4 players, here are some tips

1. Use fully modded MkII weapons.

2. Lower your aim sensitivity down to 2 ticks above zero.

3. Use the closest 3rd person camera view.

4. Turn off controller vibration. (Trust me)

5. Only headshots.

6. Turn off Depth of Field effects.

I'm trying to wrap things up. Just tier 3 carbine rifle and combat mg left. I really want those shirts.

Eta- combat mg was pretty easy. I'm still stuck on carbine rifle tier 3. That's my last one. Super happy to have unlocked extra explosive capacity.

I didn't think the tier 1 and 2 challenges were extremely difficult. I beat those.

I haven't tried the tier 3 challenges though.

4. Turn off controller vibration. (Trust me)

Tbh the vibration helped me with muscle memory on the carbine rifle and mg as I didn't count the bullets like I did with the smg and assault rifle. To each his own, I guess.

What are the extra 5 carrying ability? I only finished Tier 1 because of those 2 locked Metallic tints.

Ah yeah I can see that.

I also forgot to mention what helped me the most, was counting my bullets. I actually used real world military technique to help me. For example, I would literally count out loud with the bullets.

1,2,3,4,5,MOVE!

(Or however many bullets it is)

Then go to the next one. It's not that it helps you from missing shots, it helps because it gives you a pace and keeps you conssistent
